Once outside, Si Yuhuan grabbed Jian Xi’s arm. "What the hell are you doing?"
She didn’t know if it was her acting flaring up or a burst of genuine emotion, but Jian Xi was on the verge of pointing at his nose and cursing, "Si Yuhuan, am I the one going crazy, or are you blind and deaf? You flirt with , yet you rush over here because of one phone call from her. You’re so used to keeping two won on the line—aren’t you afraid you’ll capsize and drown in a ditch!"
"Do you love Jiang Qing so much that you’ll forgive her for anything? In that case, why don’t you just go in and keep her company!"
"I was about to go in, but you stopped ."
Jian Xi was speechless. She glared at him, pointing to herself. "I... I...?" She couldn’t utter another word for a long ti.
"Si Yuhuan, you’re shaless! Go on, go to her!"
She was honestly about to explode with anger.
This damn man! Does he really like Jiang Qing that much? Then he can go to hell! Without Haohan Group, without the two billion, without the support of the family elders, he’s nothing! She, the proud heiress of the Jian Group, was not afraid of him!
"Fine, since you’ve said so much, I might as well go in and have a look."
Si Yuhuan made as if to turn around.
"Go on, and after you leave, don’t let see you again. Every ti I see you, I’ll hit you once!"
Jian Xi was shaking with anger.
Suddenly, she felt sharp pains in her lower abdon.
This was bad; her emotions were fluctuating too much.
The mont she bent over, Si Yuhuan strode forward and supported her by the arm, his face etched with urgency. "What’s wrong with your stomach?"
He reached out to touch her, but Jian Xi slapped his hand away.
She staggered back a few steps, putting distance between them. Her clear eyes, usually bright, now glared at him fiercely. "You bastard, don’t touch !"
"Jian Xi!"
Si Yuhuan was struggling to maintain his composure.
While the two were quarreling, a group of people suddenly gathered at the doorway.
Jian Xi was taken aback.
She had seen all these people before. They were all elders of the Si Family, respected and well-regarded. A few were from Old Master Si’s generation, and though they held little direct power, they were influential figures within the family.
Si Yuhuan frowned upon seeing them. "Uncle Weixun, what brings all of you here?"
Si Weixun was relatively accomplished among the younger generation of Si Family elders. His capability, vision, and intellect were second only to Si Yuhuan’s. He was a man who didn’t strive for personal gain, always prioritizing the family enterprise.
When Old Master Si had designated Si Yuhuan as the Si Family Head, if Si Weixun had contended for the position, it might have caused a significant conflict at the ti.
Interestingly, he happened to be in Q Country when Old Master Si announced the news, only returning ho two years later. Currently, he was the CEO of a venture capital company governed by the Si Family, with minimal contact with Haohan Group on a day-to-day basis. This ant he was sowhat marginalized.
However, being marginalized professionally didn’t diminish his prestige. The mont Si Weixun appeared, the Si Family mbers looked to him as their pillar of support.
"Si Yuhuan, we’ve searched hard for you, just to ask you one thing. The Si Family is in trouble, will you co back or not?"
One of the clan elders couldn’t help but roll his eyes upon seeing Si Yuhuan tightly gripping Jian Xi’s hand.
The n of the Si Family, one after another, being manipulated by won. What a disgrace!
Jian Xi also couldn’t help but look up at him.
To be invited back by the Si Family elders... this must be considered a glorious return for him! With the support of the Si Family, he’ll have a chance to turn things around.
Unexpectedly, Si Yuhuan sneered. "So you only think of asking back when there’s trouble? I’m afraid it’s not that simple."
He refused? Jian Xi was dumbstruck. Is this man insane, or has his brain short-circuited?
"Si Junyan has the support of shareholders holding over thirty-six percent of the shares, while all of you combined barely hold ten percent," Si Yuhuan said coldly, casting a disdainful glance at them. "Weren’t you the ones who supported his ascent to President of Haohan Group?"
Their faces burned with sha, and they wished the earth would swallow them whole.
One of the clan elders burst out angrily, "Si Yuhuan, don’t be so arrogant! Do you really think we can’t manage without you?"
He said, shaking off Si Weixun’s restraining arm, "Weixun, you see it too! With his attitude, he’s not fit to be the Si Family Head. From now on, the Si Family is entrusted to you. We believe you will lead the Si Family to a better future!"
Without waiting for Si Weixun to decline, the group agreed unanimously.
Thus, in front of Si Yuhuan, Si Weixun beca the new Family Head.
It seed like child’s play, yet Jian Xi found it utterly cold-blooded. In such a large family, no one truly cared for Si Yuhuan. In their eyes, only interests mattered. All they wanted was the Si Family’s prosperity; they couldn’t care less about what Si Yuhuan thought or wanted.
Just when Jian Xi thought Si Yuhuan would fight for so interests for himself or say sothing, he took her hand and turned to leave.
"Hey? You’re just leaving like this?"
Si Yuhuan stuffed her into the passenger seat. Her face was a mask of disbelief as the car started, and he stepped on the gas, speeding away into the distance.
"What else?" Si Yuhuan retorted.
"Aren’t you going to say anything? Even cursing them out to vent your anger would be sothing! Si Weixun is no simple character. If he becos Family Head, your life won’t be easy. Don’t forget, you gave your two billion; you don’t have a penny left. You’re a pauper now."
Si Yuhuan’s brow furrowed slightly.
Jian Xi thought she had gotten through to him. "It’s not too late to go back now. If you reclaim the position of Family Head, you’ll still have a foothold to compete with Si Junyan. Even if you can’t be the richest man, you could at least live a life of peace and prosperity."
"So, in your eyes, I care deeply about power and status?"
Co to think of it, ever since he stepped down as the wealthiest man, he had endured Jiang Qing’s abandonnt, Si Junyan’s provocations, Fu Shengyuan’s mockery, and even countless others kicking him while he was down. Yet, his response was always one of calm indifference, as if being the wealthiest man or an ordinary person made no difference to him.
Sotis, comparisons between people were truly infuriating. Jian Xi still rembered her previous life when the Jian Family fell from grace. Those days of destitution and displacent were a ti of utter hopelessness, a mory that still made her shudder. Si Yuhuan was in a similar predicant, but... how could he be so infuriatingly nonchalant?
"Drop off up ahead."
She regretted chasing after him. She understood even less why she’d had that mont of madness, supporting his bid to reclaim the Family Head position. Now that she’d thought things through, she was no longer afraid. With Si Weixun now in charge of the Si Family, Si Yuhuan had no chance of becoming Family Head. Si Junyan was stirring up turmoil within Haohan Group. Si Yuhuan didn’t even have ten billion; what could he possibly fight with? Even his close confidants had been mostly dismissed. A whole month had passed—the opportunity was long gone. Si Yuhuan’s future looked utterly bleak. All her calculations had paid off. Jiang Qing was in prison, and Si Yuhuan had fallen from his pedestal. Everyone who had deceived or wronged her had paid the price. Soon, Si Junyan would also be kicked out of Haohan Group. Everything was proceeding exactly as she wished. There was no mont more satisfying than this.
"Jian Xi, let’s remarry," Si Yuhuan suddenly said, looking at her with utmost seriousness.
Jian Xi was stunned for a mont, then burst into loud laughter. "Si Yuhuan, you really enjoy joking, don’t you?"
