"Si Junyan, you dare to hurt my mom!"

Jian Mingcheng ran over, but it was already too late.

Jian Xi’s eyes blazed with fury.

WHOOSH!

With a muffled THUD, the arrowhead violently pierced Si Junyan’s arm.

He let out a bloodcurdling scream.

Blood spurted out, splattering onto Jian’s Mother.

She was terrified, but she also seized the opportunity to break free from Si Junyan’s grasp.

All eyes converged on the villa’s entrance.

Si Yuhuan walked in holding a miniature crossbow. Backlit, his windbreaker fluttered as if stirred by an unseen breeze, making him appear like a god descending to rescue Jian’s Mother from peril.

Seeing his face, Si Junyan flew into a rage. "Si Yuhuan, you dare to hurt for the Jian Family!"

Si Yuhuan didn’t even spare him a glance, as if Si Junyan were disgusting trash. "Do I need to pick a special day to deal with you?"

He walked over to Jian Xi and looked her up and down. "Are you alright?"

Jian Xi shook her head. Thank goodness he arrived in ti; otherwise, the consequences would have been unthinkable.

She stepped forward and instructed the bodyguards her Fifth Brother had sent, "Tie him up. Give him a ’warm welco.’ Just make sure he’s still breathing when you’re done."

"Jian Xi, you wouldn’t dare!"

A group of bodyguards sward him, delivering a thorough beating with fists and feet.

Si Junyan, who had initially been cursing and swearing, started to sob and wail after his front teeth were knocked out.

"Jian Xi, for soone who studies law, how dare you treat like this! You just wait, you’re going to jail!"

"You said it yourself, I’m a lawyer. I won’t let myself end up in prison. You’re the one who should be in jail!"

Jian Xi’s face was stern. "Keep hitting him!"

Agonizing screams rose and fell within the courtyard.

Si Junyan was beaten to within an inch of his life when Jian Xi finally called the police to take him away.

She needed to give a statent, so she had to go to the police station.

Si Yuhuan imdiately stood up. "Big Brother, I’ll go with her."

Jian’s Mother was sowhat worried. "It’s all my fault for being so impulsive. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have caused you all this trouble."

She said to Si Yuhuan, sowhat abashed, "Thank you." Si Junyan really intended to kill just now. Thankfully, that arrow saved .

"I’m Jian Xi’s man, your son-in-law. It’s what I should do."

Shaless! Jian Xi blushed instantly at his words. This guy never misses a chance to take advantage.

Jian’s Mother sighed. She hadn’t thought highly of Si Yuhuan at first, but now she was gradually coming to accept him. "Take good care of Xixi. Don’t let her get hurt, or I’ll hold you accountable."

"Mm."

Si Yuhuan wasted no more words. He took Jian Xi’s hand, settled her in the car, stepped on the gas, and followed the police car straight to the station.

When Jiang Qing received the news, she practically jumped off the sofa.

"What did you say? Si Junyan actually hit Li Bin and even stord into the Jian Family’s ho, disrupting Jian’s Mother’s birthday banquet?"

He’s unbelievably arrogant! Jiang Qing seethed with anger.

She had no ti to waste. She hurriedly changed her clothes, found a top-notch lawyer, and rushed to the police station.

By the ti Jiang Qing arrived with her lawyer, Jian Xi had already given her statent.

When Jiang Qing’s gaze fell on Si Yuhuan beside Jian Xi, her pupils contracted slightly, and she instinctively tightened her grip on her expensive alligator-skin handbag.

Si Yuhuan t her gaze.

Jiang Qing curled her red lips into what she considered an elegant and beautiful smile as she walked over. "Yuhan, I never expected to see you by her side."

Si Yuhuan’s cold gaze fixed on her. "And I never expected that the first person to stand by Si Junyan when he got into trouble would be you."

Jiang Qing froze, feeling as if her hidden thoughts had been exposed, leaving her deeply ashad with nowhere to hide. But then, the image of the man she coveted dotingly standing by Jian Xi, her arch-nesis, flashed in her mind, and she imdiately lifted her chin.

"Junyan was there for during my toughest tis. I consider him family. Of course, I had to co and see him now that he’s in trouble."

After speaking, she shot Jian Xi a cold glare. "Did you hurt your own cousin just for this vixen? Si Yuhuan, I don’t even recognize you anymore."

She said this with tears in her eyes, attempting to emotionally blackmail him.

Jian Xi couldn’t help but sneer. "Jiang Qing, this is a police station, not your personal stage. Do you think shedding a few crocodile tears here will win you an award for your acting? Ridiculous!"

Jiang Qing was rendered speechless by Jian Xi’s scathing retort.

"Hmph! Don’t be so smug. This isn’t over," she huffed.

As she tried to pass Si Yuhuan, he suddenly grabbed her wrist.

Her heart leaped. Could it be that Si Yuhuan had so tender words for her? As a man she had never managed to conquer, Jiang Qing subconsciously yearned for his affection. She couldn’t resist asking softly, "Yuhan, have you realized your mistake?"

"She is not Hu Lijuan. Apologize to Jian Xi."

"What?"

Jiang Qing thought she had misheard. It had always been her bullying Jian Xi; when had it ever been her turn to apologize to Jian Xi on his account?

"I said, apologize. Don’t make say it a third ti."

Jian Xi was also slightly taken aback. She never expected Si Yuhuan, who had always shalessly favored Jiang Qing, to one day stand up for her like this. A whirlwind of emotions churned within her.

The man’s oppressive aura overwheld Jiang Qing, making it difficult for her to breathe. Faced with Si Yuhuan’s murderous gaze, she clenched her jaw and lowered her head. "I’m sorry."

She was incredibly reluctant but didn’t dare to defy Si Yuhuan. After apologizing, Jiang Qing wanted to slap herself. Si Yuhuan was already down on his luck; what on earth was she still afraid of him for?

"Get lost!" Jian Xi said coldly, her arms crossed, showing no rcy.

Filled with rage, Jiang Qing shot Jian Xi a fierce glare before going inside.

This felt amazing, Jian Xi thought, a smirk playing on her lips.

Si Yuhuan sat beside her, massaging his temples.

"Tired?" Jian Xi asked.

He looked travel-worn, his clothes creased. It was clear he had been incredibly busy during his absence these past few days.

"Let lie down for a bit."

With that, the man brazenly lay his head on her lap.

Jian Xi’s legs were long and straight, her thighs just fleshy enough to make a comfortable pillow.

This man was getting more and more familiar! If he hadn’t saved Mom... she wouldn’t have let him...

A police officer ca out with so docunts. "Lawyer Jian, you can..." He trailed off, then shook his head with a wry smile. Public displays of affection everywhere these days. "You’re free to go."

Jian Xi sprang up as if on springs. "Okay!" she chirped, then hurriedly turned to flee.

This is so embarrassing!

Si Yuhuan shot the young police officer a dark look. "Serves you right for being single."

With that, he hurried after the fleeing Jian Xi.

The police officer pointed at himself, his face a mask of indignation. "Hey, that’s harsh! What’s so great about having a girlfriend, huh?!"

Jian Xi scrambled into the car. Si Yuhuan pulled open the passenger door.

"Get out!" she snapped.

He had made her want to die of embarrassnt back there! The police station was practically her second office. Word would spread like wildfire. How could she maintain her professional image in legal circles now?
