Si Yuhuan looked down at her. She was completely bare-faced today, without any makeup, yet this didn’t diminish her beauty. Instead, it added a touch of delicate purity, making her features exceptionally refined.
Feeling restless, he unbuttoned one of the buttons on his shirt, suddenly feeling parched.
"I broke my promise, but there were extenuating circumstances. She..." Si Yuhuan trailed off.
Jian Xi sneered, "She could find Sernosen, a doctor to treat Grandfather, so you could completely disregard , your wife, abandon in front of everyone, and leave with her, right?"

Jian Xi curled her lips and lowered her gaze, unable to hide the sorrow in her eyes.
"Sorry." Si Yuhuan had intended to reproach her, but now he was apologizing instead.
Jian Xi said indifferently, "I was never important. I just expected too much and misunderstood."
The words "That’s not it" almost slipped out, but Si Yuhuan couldn’t bring himself to say them. Instead, he said, "Don’t be so lodramatic."

But when he heard that Jian Xi was behind it all, he couldn’t help but confront her.

Si Yuhuan’s eyes darkened. "Jian Xi, Haohan Group is not sothing for you to interfere with."

"What?" Si Yuhuan looked at Jian Xi in utter shock.
Jian Xi’s heart lurched. Her legs nearly buckled, almost sending her to her knees. In a hoarse voice, she asked, "Mom, Dad, why are you here?"
She was sure she had seen her parents off!
Jian’s Mother gripped her arm. "Your father and I never boarded the plane. If we had left, who would be here to stand up for you today?"
Jian’s Mother stared hatefully at Si Yuhuan.
I’m dood!
Jian Xi suspected her father and mother had been tracking her; they must have gone to the hospital.
"You’re pregnant?" Si Yuhuan asked, disregarding everything else as he stared at her.
Jian’s Mother also pressed anxiously, "I went to the hospital, but the staff there absolutely refused to tell what was going on. I only know you had an internal dicine check-up. Are you really pregnant?"
Jian Xi nearly choked, struggling to breathe.
This hospital really is ethical and trustworthy. They said they wouldn’t reveal any patient information, and they truly didn’t.

Jian Xi hesitated for a mont, then blurted out a lie, "How could I be pregnant? I just had a headache and an upset stomach, and felt lethargic, so I went for an internal dicine check-up. The test results showed nothing was wrong; it’s just exhaustion and stress."
"Oh? So you’re not pregnant!" Jian’s Mother sounded sowhat disappointed.
Father Jian also couldn’t hide a hint of disappointnt.
Si Yuhuan’s expression was dark and unreadable.
She wasn’t pregnant, but she had an internal dicine check-up. Could she have found out about her depression and delusions?
He pursed his lips slightly. "Mom, Dad, I have sothing I want to discuss with you."
"Hmph! You should indeed explain to us why you’ve been treating Xixi this way," Father Jian said.
Si Yuhuan led Jian’s Father & Mother aside. Jian Xi watched them, unable to hear their conversation, but their occasional glances in her direction made her skin crawl.
She wondered if the lie she had casually spun could really fool her parents and Si Yuhuan.
Si Yuhuan absolutely must not find out about the twins.

Jian Xi nodded. She had been through a lot all day, and on top of Si Yuhuan’s recent interrogation, she rembered the doctor’s advice that a pregnant woman’s emotions shouldn’t fluctuate too drastically. Putting on an act also requires physical and ntal energy; I’m truly exhausted.
"Alright then, you go inside and rest," Jian’s Mother said.
At a significant look from Jian’s Mother, Si Yuhuan imdiately went to support Jian Xi. "Let’s go."
He felt a sense of helplessness, like a duck being forced onto a perch.
Jian Xi couldn’t help but let out a cold snort.
He really knows how to put on an act.
Still, being able to put on an act is better than nothing. After all, in her previous life, he couldn’t even be bothered to pretend; he had absolutely no regard for her parents.
"Since you’re so keen on managing Haohan Group’s internal affairs, starting tomorrow, you’ll co to work at the company."

Before Jian Xi could voice her refusal, Si Yuhuan continued, "These are turbulent tis. We don’t know what Grandfather might face in the hospital, and your brother, expanding his business in W Country, needs all the support he can get from ho. You wouldn’t want to make a mistake while I’m swamped and end up delaying the technical and product support for your elder brother, would you?"
Damn man! That scoundrel! All he knows is how to threaten people!
Jian Xi inhaled deeply with indignation. "Fine, I’ll go!"
She slamd the door shut violently, leaving Si Yuhuan on the other side.
Si Yuhuan rubbed his nose, which had almost been hit by the door. This woman’s temper is really getting worse and worse.
It must be because of her illness!

If Jian’s Father & Mother hadn’t insisted he let Jian Xi work at Haohan Group, he would never have made such a brainless decision!
Hopefully, she’ll do a good job at Haohan Group and not give any leverage. Otherwise...!
