Jian Xi impatiently answered the call.
The other side roared, "Jian Xi, I’m giving you twenty minutes to co pick up, or else you and I will be on the front page headlines tomorrow! Let tell you, the people I had dinner with today are all old business partners of the Si Family and the Jian Family."
"Shaless!"
Jian Xi threw a pillow in anger, got dressed in a huff, and raced toward the Haojue Clubhouse.
She could fight Si Yuhuan to the bitter end, even if it ant mutual destruction, but she absolutely could not drag the Jian Family down with her.
The Si and Jian Families had beco inseparable in business over the years.
Otherwise, Si Yuhuan wouldn’t have been able to swallow up the Jian Group, painstakingly established by her father, in just six months like a whirlwind consuming everything in its path.
As soon as Jian Xi arrived at the Haojue Clubhouse, a staff mber was waiting to lead her directly to the VIP floor.
The empty VIP room looked like it had just been through a "tough battle"—scattered wine bottles and cigarette butts were everywhere.
Si Yuhuan was sprawled out on a sofa in one of the booths.
"Hey? Not dead, are you?" Jian Xi approached, wanting to poke his head and take the opportunity to vent her frustration.
The next second, Si Yuhuan precisely caught her small hand. He pulled gently, and Jian Xi fell into his arms, their bodies pressed tightly together. His sharp, gleaming eyes opened, carrying a dangerous glint.
Under the dim light, his intoxicatingly handso face, for a fleeting mont, made Jian Xi’s mind go blank.
"Jian Xi, you deserve a lesson!"
After saying that, Si Yuhuan’s head dropped.
Jian Xi’s eyes widened. "Where do you think you’re putting your head?!"
He... he was leaning on her chest.
This kind of close contact was sothing she couldn’t even beg for in her previous life.
Now that it was happening so easily, she was completely at a loss.
Jian Xi had no idea how she managed to drag him back to the hotel.
All she knew was that her arms felt like they were about to break.
Damn scumbag! she thought. So heavy!
Watching Si Yuhuan sprawl carelessly on the bed, Jian Xi really wanted to kick his handso face a few tis.
But in the dim light, his handso face was indeed devastatingly attractive.
Chu Xiao and Zhou Yan are both top-tier handso n, but they still fall short compared to Si Yuhuan. His aura of authority, built over many years in a superior position, has given him a unique presence.
Even a simple black shirt on him looks like it’s being worn by a world-famous model.
His phone BEEPED.
Jian Xi glanced over.
Jiang Qing: [I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have argued with you, but I really can’t accept it.]
No wonder Si Yuhuan was in such a state. Turns out he had a fight with Jiang Qing and was using as a diversion.
I knew it. That scumbag suddenly had the crazy idea to make pick him up.
Just then, there was a knock at the door.
A hotel staff mber ca in with sobering-up soup.
Jian Xi instructed directly, "Pour it out. It’s not needed."
Initially, I thought if he drank it and felt better, I wouldn’t have to tire myself out so much. But now, it seems utterly unnecessary.
That line from Jiang Qing about ’not being able to accept it’... was it mostly because I also ca to Fancheng and got in her way?
Jian Xi sneered. "Jiang Qing, you brought this on yourself!"
Jian Xi positioned Si Yuhuan’s head on her shoulder, making them look incredibly close, took a picture, and sent it to Jiang Qing.
This was the first ti I’d seen a drunk man be such a handful.
It was almost dawn when Jian Xi finally fell asleep, utterly exhausted.
In her dream, her family was ruined, and Jiang Qing stood before her, gloating, "You’re paying the price for being a cuckoo in the nest! Don’t ever expect Si Yuhuan to fall in love with you in this lifeti. His heart and eyes are only for . Stop dreaming!"
Jian Xi jolted awake, drenched in a cold sweat.
Suddenly, the main door to the suite was thrown open.
Yan Qing scread, dropped the clothes in his hands, and turned to flee.
What did I just see?! he thought frantically. Director Si actually slept with the Madam! This is earth-shattering news!
Lying next to Jian Xi, Si Yuhuan was awakened by the noise. He frowned in displeasure, rubbing his temples as he sat up.
When he saw Jian Xi, his handso face gradually darkened.
Jian Xi, however, got up nonchalantly, picked up a jacket from the floor, and casually slipped it on. "Don’t overthink it," she said. "Nothing happened between us. I’m not interested in you."
A chilly air radiated from Si Yuhuan. "Jian Xi! You keep demanding a divorce, yet you’re constantly provoking and challenging my limits. Is this your new trick?"
He took a long stride off the bed. His shirt, though crumpled, hung loosely on his fra, revealing a strong, damnably enticing collarbone.
Jian Xi, her eyes glinting, reached out and suggestively stroked it. "What? Playing hard to get? Are you hoping I’ll make a move so you can ’surrender’ to ?"
Si Yuhuan frowned, a shiver of revulsion passing through him.
Her abnormal behavior silently extinguished the rage that had been building within him.
The Jian Xi before seems like a complete stranger. he thought.
"Si Yuhuan, you were the one who threatened to co pick you up at the Haojue Clubhouse. What does that have to do with ? And please recognize that your drunken rampage has caused physical injury. I’m going to the hospital to get evidence; this is dostic violence."
The man’s pupils constricted slightly. There were two marks on Jian Xi’s neck, one more distinct than the other, with so bruising around them. It looked rather chilling.
"You deserved it!" he retorted stubbornly.
"Yeah, right! I’m not like your precious ’white moonlight’ who needs to be handled with such care. I’m just a weed; I don’t need your concern."
"Director Si, there’s been an incident," Yan Qing reported, forcing himself to enter the room.
"Just now, Miss Jiang Qing’s secretary called. She said Miss Jiang Qing hasn’t returned to her hotel since receiving your ssage last night. She’s afraid sothing might have happened..."
Si Yuhuan imdiately checked his ssages.
When he saw the intimate photo of himself and Jian Xi, his eyes looked like they could shoot flas.
"Jian Xi!"
"Why are you shouting so loud? I’m not deaf."
Jian Xi spread her hands in a helpless gesture. "You were the one who wanted to send it. What could I do?"
Saying this, she pulled out her phone and played a recording.
Her voice ca from the phone: "Si Yuhuan, are you really going to send this ssage? Just answer , and then I’ll go to sleep."
Then, a hazy "Mmm" from Si Yuhuan was heard.
Jian Xi put on an innocent expression, as if to say, ’See? It’s all your fault.’ "There you go. Nothing to do with . Good thing I kept proof."
Si Yuhuan was so furious he felt he could spit blood.
Jiang Qing was already unhappy because of the injury on my lip, and now this photo has surfaced, he fud internally.
"Just you wait," he snarled, then stord out, slamming the door behind him.
Unafraid of escalating things, Jian Xi yelled after him, "Honestly, you look terrible when you’re drunk!"
Outside the door, Yan Qing trembled with fear.
What did I just hear?! The Madam said Director Si looks terrible when he’s drunk! Is this still the sa Madam who was once head over heels in love with Director Si?!
