She mockingly thought to herself, what was she really upset about? What was she expecting? Hadn’t she known from the beginning that today’s outco might be possible? She had considered such a possibility as the worst scenario, and had thought about how to face and accept it. If it was unavoidable, instead of fretting and agonizing over it, she’d be better off letting go and living her own life comfortably!
This life couldn’t be compared with her past life; with her status and livelihood secured, what else was there to worry or fret about? Whether she was a legitimate wife or a concubine, what difference did it make? Although this one was troubleso, now that most of the servants in the household were on her side, what could she do to her? Now that the faces were torn, there was no more need to hold back! When exactly Shi Fengju ca back, she did not know. She was only aware of being drowsily embraced by soone, who sighed and muttered sothing, then leaned over to gently kiss her face. Sang Wan did not open her eyes or respond, just instinctively snuggled closer into his arms and continued sleeping.
The next day, Mrs. Jiang ca from Mrs. Wang’s side to convey her ssage that the household should start preparations to host a grand banquet to announce to relatives and friends that Gu Fangzi was being elevated to the status of a legitimate wife.
