Liu Ya and others had already been quietly waiting outside for a while, while in the hall downstairs stood Steward Zhang, Chang Huan, and others in silence.
As the sun rose higher and the temperature also gradually increased, there was still no movent from the bedroom upstairs. Steward Zhang, feeling uneasy, glanced up and, unable to sit still any longer, coughed and said, "Isn’t it ti to apply dicine to the young master?"
"Steward Zhang, give it a rest!" Chang Huan retorted with a pout, "Now that Sang Wan has finally arrived, why should we bother the young master? Having Sang Wan by his side is better than any miraculous dicine! You don’t know, we’ve been rushing on the road these past few days; Sang Wan hasn’t rested well at all, she must be exhausted! Now that things have finally settled down, even the young master doesn’t want to disturb her; if we dare to go up and annoy her, we’ll be the ones to suffer! I won’t go, that’s for sure!"
Before Chang Huan could finish speaking, Steward Zhang scolded him, tapping on his head twice and rebuked, "You rascal, itching for a beating, aren’t you? Can you dictate what the masters do? Speak out of turn again and I’ll rip your tongue out!"
Qian He and others lowered their heads, secretly snickering, while Chang Huan felt wronged, rubbing his head and muttering silently with a pout.
Although Steward Zhang had scolded Chang Huan, he felt that he had a point and did not bring up going upstairs to call the people again. After a while, they saw Shi Fengju and Sang Wan co down from upstairs, and Steward Zhang hurriedly stood up and asked, "Has the young master and Sang Wan gotten up?"
"Yes, they want hot water to wash up! Miss Liu Ya asked if lunch was ready? Set it up shortly! Also, bring up a pot of boiling water for tea!" one of Shi Fengju’s household mbers rushed to say with a smile.
Steward Zhang responded and gave the orders, then everyone dispersed and busied themselves.
After the two upstairs had their lunch, it was already past noon.
During the ti to apply the dicine, both Shi Fengju and Sang Wan were taken aback when they unwrapped the gauze! The wound on his leg was significantly swollen and faintly stained with blood.
As their eyes t, Sang Wan was slightly angry, while Shi Fengju was extrely embarrassed and hurriedly looked away.
"Steward Zhang, hurry and fetch Doctor Li! The young master’s wound on his leg seems to be getting worse." Sang Wan quickly got up and instructed.
Upon hearing this, Steward Zhang also beca anxious and hurriedly said, "Could it be that the weather has been hot these past few days, causing it to beco inflad and feverish? I will imdiately send soone to fetch him!"
While Shi Fengju was wondering what excuse to use to gloss things over, upon hearing this, he couldn’t help but rejoice and said with a smile, "That’s right, that’s right, the weather has been too hot these past few days, indeed unbearable! Hurry and call for Doctor Li."
Steward Zhang was sowhat puzzled, thinking that this wasn’t good news but rather alarming news, yet the young master seed unexpectedly delighted.
"Miss Wan, it really doesn’t hurt, just let Doctor Li check, don’t be angry, okay?" Seeing Sang Wan sitting silently to the side, Shi Fengju knew she must be annoyed, so he took her hand and pleaded with a smile.
"Instead, I’ve made things worse for you like this. If mother finds out, she will certainly bla for not knowing how to take care or show consideration for you! I absolutely refuse next ti!" How could she not be angry? Sang Wan was incredibly furious inside. Steward Zhang and others aren’t really fools, failing to catch on temporarily doesn’t an they will never catch on, and if any slip of the tongue reaches their mother-in-law’s ears, a reprimand would be unavoidable.
While Shi Fengju felt slightly disheartened upon hearing her words, he sighed softly and said, "Miss Wan, are you angry just because you fear my mother will bla you?" He thought she was concerned and worried about him.
Sang Wan was stunned, then frowned slightly and said, "What do you an by that? Of course, I fear mother will bla , but seeing you like this, how can my heart bear it!"
"Miss Wan!" Shi Fengju then smiled, grabbing her hands and said with a smile, "I’m really fine! Don’t worry, by the ti I return, my wound will have already healed, and mother will be too happy to bother about these past issues! Plus, I am willing to endure this little pain, it really doesn’t matter, don’t take it to heart, okay?"
Sang Wan was at a loss whether to laugh or cry, seeing him so persistently pleading, she could not continue to sulk seriously and thus smiled and said, "You better just lie back quietly and don’t move around, let Doctor Li have a good look when he arrives."
Sang Wan felt sowhat guilty, assuming that Doctor Li’s dical skills must be decent. If he were to discover sothing, it would indeed be embarrassing.
Shi Fengju, however, was not concerned, obeying her and lying back but refusing to let her leave, still holding her hand and talking to her by his side. It wasn’t until Doctor Li arrived that he finally let go of her to allow her to step behind a partition.
