"Alright, you may go back. Mrs. Hu won’t be able to co today due to so matters, and there’s no need for you to co over anymore, go! There’s also no need to co so early tomorrow to pay respects, just go!" Mrs. Wang nodded and waved her hand.
"Yes, your daughter-in-law shall take her leave first!" Sang Wan curtsied and left.
Stepping out of the main courtyard, she subconsciously straightened her back and took a deep breath, gazing at the vast sky, drifting white clouds, and the bright sunlight piercing through the clouds. Such vibrant brilliance was in the air, yet the chill still carried the breath of winter.
"Miss Wan, you’re back!" Just as Sang Wan entered Ningyuan, Shi Fengju greeted her with a smile, took her hand, and asked in a low voice, "How was it? Mother didn’t give you a hard ti, did she?"
How could Sang Wan not hold any resentnt? She glanced at him dully, shook her head, and said, "What are you talking about? How could mother give a hard ti! It was guidance! Isn’t it only right for a daughter-in-law to receive guidance in front of her mother-in-law? It’s just that this ti, it was a bit unjust!"
Knowing he had misspoken, Shi Fengju rely chuckled and entered with her.
After taking off her coat in the warm pavilion, Shi Fengju dismissed everyone and then held her, speaking softly, "There are no outsiders here, if you feel aggrieved, just vent it to , don’t keep it bottled up inside and make yourself sick!"
Sang Wan, still sowhat annoyed, didn’t know what to reply and rely sighed, "It’s already in the past, I don’t want to bring it up anymore. Just don’t let it happen again in the future! I’m a bit tired and want to lie down for a while, don’t disturb !"
Seeing her still visibly upset, Shi Fengju felt even more remorseful. He helped her lie down on the bed, covered her up to her chest with a blanket, and then gently turned her body, asking, "Was it because of what I said today that you had to endure more scolding from mother? Mother is getting older, please be patient with her! Ah, I really don’t know how it turned out like this! Mother, why does she like to ddle in our affairs so much! How could she be so convinced that you were bullying !"
Sang Wan was montarily annoyed too, "Can you stop talking about this? Mother is your biological mother, wouldn’t she side with you instead of ? Fengju, I really don’t resent mother; it was indeed my fault. However, I was coaxing mother nicely, but after accompanying her to visit your sister in the banana garden, when we ca out, her expression was as cold as ice. When I tried to help her, she pushed away without even a glance at ! I don’t know what she and your sister must have spoken about to anger her so much!"
Hearing Sang Wan speak so, not just her but even Shi Fengju began to suspect Shi Yui, knowing better than anyone that big sister has always been displeased with Miss Wan. Feeling guilty, he gently patted Sang Wan’s shoulder, soothing her with kind words, switching between addressing her affectionately as Miss Wan.
Sang Wan told him that she hadn’t actually thought about getting him to go to the banana garden to seek justice and teach Shi Yui a lesson, knowing that was impossible. If she really thought so, she would even laugh at herself for lacking in propriety.
However, she couldn’t just suffer the grievances silently; though she didn’t expect him to do anything, she still wanted him to be aware! To understand her difficulties.
"Fengju, I don’t bla you, you’re right, which married daughter of a large family doesn’t suffer grievances? If one were to nitpick everything, life couldn’t go on! It’s okay for to bear so grievances, as long as, as long as the grievances aren’t caused by you..." Hearing his gentle and warm coaxing, Sang Wan turned around, held his hand, and spoke softly.
"How could I let you suffer grievances," Shi Fengju embraced her gently, his heart lting instantly, he lowered his head to kiss her gently on the cheek and forehead, whispering, "Miss Wan, I feel relieved knowing you think this way, you really are my good wife! After all, this ti I implicated you, it won’t happen again, okay? When spring cos and the weather is nice, I’ll take you out for a trip, we can go to the manor, where no one will control us, nor see us, and you can do whatever you want! Like now, just us two, I’ll listen to you!" Shi Fengju said, grinning at her, his gaze gleaming mischievously.
Sang Wan, feeling relieved, blushed at his words, gently pushed him, and chuckled softly, "Stop teasing, I am really tired and want to rest! Mother said Mrs. Hu couldn’t co today, so I don’t even have to go over!"
"Then you just rest!" Shi Fengju laughed as he tucked the blanket around her, sitting beside her and leaning over to look at her, feeling increasingly delighted and enchanted by her beauty, he chuckled again, "Miss Wan, do you have any soreness or discomfort anywhere? Do you want to massage and knead it for you?"
Helplessly, Sang Wan half-opened her eyes and scolded him, "Why don’t you go out and walk around sowhere, just don’t bother here!"
Shi Fengju replied with a smile, "There’s nowhere to go outside, you sleep, I won’t bother you, I’ll just watch you!"
With a soft grunt from her nose, Sang Wan turned her back to him, ignoring his hands that occasionally gently caressed her body and hair, and closed her eyes to rest.
At lunchti, Sang Wan got up, and after dining together, they admired the blooming flowers under the porch. The flowers, ticulously cared for by the maids daily, saw their wilted blossoms trimd away, and once a pot of buds had fully blood, they were replaced with fresh ones from the greenhouse. Under the porch, Rhododendron, callia, rose, wintersweet, and cyclan blood splendidly in a vibrant display.
"Young master, madam, Aunt Fang is here!" A maid suddenly ca forward to report.
"Aunt Fang?" Shi Fengju expressed surprise to Sang Wan, "Aunt Fang from the second house? What is she doing here?"
Sang Wan’s eyebrows twitched unconsciously, smiling, "I don’t know either! Since she’s here, let’s invite her in!" Saying this, they both headed back to the house.
Sang Wan couldn’t help feeling a bit annoyed inside; Aunt Fang truly was persistent. Since that last visit, she had "coincidentally" encountered her alone twice more, but Sang Wan had not given her the chance to bring up that matter, and now, she unexpectedly showed up again!
