Mrs. Wang originally wanted to ask her to sit down together, but then she held back and asked, "Did you arrange breakfast for Fengju early this morning?"
Sang Wan quickly nodded, "The kitchen has prepared everything according to the young master’s taste, and Xingzhi and the others will take care of him when he wakes up. Mother, you can rest assured!"
Mrs. Wang then asked, "Does Fengju have any other plans today? Does he need to go out?"
Sang Wan shook her head honestly, "The wife doesn’t know."
"Don’t know?" Mrs. Wang frowned and humd, "He is your husband, and you care so little about him?"
Sang Wan hurriedly said, "The husband didn’t say, and it’s not convenient for the wife to ask. The wife dares not ddle in the husband’s private affairs! Since mother ntioned it, the wife will ask more about it later!"
Upon hearing this, Mrs. Wang felt slightly better, and said, "What you said isn’t wrong, it’s right for won to stay out of n’s business! Don’t try to control everything and suppress your own husband. Our Shi family cannot tolerate such arrogant daughters-in-law, do you understand?"
"Yes, the wife understands!" Sang Wan smiled bitterly inside.
Then Mrs. Wang was satisfied and began to eat breakfast. After finishing leisurely, she stood up and said, "Make do with a bit! Later, co with to visit your eldest sister in the banana garden; we might have visitors this morning, and after seeing your sister, go back and change your clothes. I’ll send soone to call you!"
Sang Wan quickly agreed.
Sang Wan then filled half a bowl with red rice porridge and picked a few pastries to eat. Fengju initially wanted to co over with her to greet her, but Sang Wan stopped him, and he was anxiously pacing alone in Ningyuan. After struggling through half an hour, and seeing that the ti was about the sa as usual, he quickly put on his cloak and hurried over to Mrs. Wang.
Mrs. Wang had just finished her breakfast when she was inford of his arrival. The tension in her eyebrows that had just relaxed crinkled again, and she instinctively looked up at the Western clock on the wall, lightly humming. In her heart, she sourly thought: Alright, everyone is coming earlier than usual today! One is coming to apologize humbly, and this one must be chasing after his wife, afraid that I might bully her!
It’s no wonder they say a son is useless once he gets a wife, they forget their mother; it really is so!
Mrs. Wang couldn’t help feeling bitter, thinking that if the woman from the Zhuang family knew about this, she would probably revel in misfortune!
"Mother! I’ve co to greet you!" Shi Fengju smiled as he entered, his eyes instinctively scanning around, and not seeing Sang Wan, he looked slightly surprised.
Seeing this, Mrs. Wang felt even more upset, sniffed coldly, and waved her hand impatiently, "Alright, no need to worry about this old woman, go busy yourself, no need to linger here!"
Shi Fengju hadn’t yet seen Sang Wan and was not willing to leave, feeling a bit anxious, he quickly said with a smile, "I have nothing to do today, so staying with mother would be nice! By the way, didn’t Miss Wan co early in the morning to greet you? Where is she?"
Indeed, he ca for her!
Mrs. Wang said angrily, "What? You can’t bear being away from her? Can’t stand not seeing her even for a mont? Afraid that I would devour her?"
"Mother!" Shi Fengju furrowed his brows and said, "What are you talking about?"
In the side hall, how could Sang Wan continue eating? She quickly rinsed her mouth with tea and hurried out, "Mother!"
Mrs. Wang glanced at her and spoke irritably to Shi Fengju, "You better take her back and check if she’s missing a few hairs or if there’s a bruise sowhere!"
Sang Wan inwardly groaned, standing to the side silently. She thought, what’s wrong with this person? He clearly knows that mother-in-law is furious yet he still runs headfirst into it! Now all the efforts of this morning are wasted! Mother-in-law is only going to be angrier!
But it was the mother-in-law scolding her son, Sang Wan had no place to interject. There were things the mother-in-law could say, but if she spoke, it would be a grave sin! Her husband might not care, but the mother-in-law would not tolerate it! It’s safer to just stand quietly aside.
Shi Fengju said, "I just casually asked a question, why are you so angry? Miss Wan is my wife, she ca over this morning, and when I didn’t see her here, I casually asked. Isn’t that a normal thing to do? Why are you so upset?"
"Oh! So it’s my fault now!" Mrs. Wang said, her voice trembling with anger.
"Madam, you really misunderstood the young master! What the young master said was not wrong; it was just a casual inquiry!" Mrs. Jiang hurriedly advised.
Mrs. Wang snapped irritably, "Enough, enough! You hopeless thing, do whatever you fancy! I won’t bother anymore! My ddling only makes others resentful! Take your wife and leave, don’t be an eyesore in front of ! Even if you guys cause trouble behind my back, I’d rather turn a blind eye!"
With that, Mrs. Wang beca even more heartbroken and depressed, unable to alleviate her sadness and anger! To think she was being blad! Who was she doing this for? Wasn’t it for him? This ungrateful wretch, not only unappreciative but even complaining about her! He, a grown man, being controlled by a woman, did he ever consider how painful it was for her as a mother!
This ti Shi Fengju was completely dumbfounded!
You should know that although Mrs. Wang often acted unpredictably, she was always compliant with her son; Shi Fengju usually could persuade her with various thods. But this ti, he didn’t expect such a strong reaction from her, as if overnight he had beco the most unfilial son in the world!
Sang Wan and Mrs. Jiang were also shocked, having never seen the Madam treat the young master this way before.
Sang Wan inwardly groaned again, thinking What are you doing! The mother-in-law was already furious, how could she withstand your retorts like this? Now it ended up with being wronged both inside and out!
"Why are you still standing there stunned? Get out! Do you want to anger to death?" Mrs. Wang saw her son still standing there dazed and spoke with even more annoyance.
"Young master, you should go back to your tasks! The Madam will be fine with here!" Mrs. Jiang advised Mrs. Wang while repeatedly making eye signals to Shi Fengju.
Shi Fengju sighed, feeling a headache coming on, and instinctively glanced at Sang Wan. Sang Wan was also urgently signaling him to leave quickly, and was extrely nervous in case he would call her along as he left. Fortunately, Shi Fengju finally understood her signals and didn’t reach out to pull her, simply said to Mrs. Wang, "Mother, I am heading back first!" and then left.
