"Second Uncle Sang——"
"Ha ha! Why so polite with your Second Uncle!" Before Sang Hong could finish speaking with a respectful salute, Sang Pingliang enthusiastically pulled his arm, "Co on, co with your Second Uncle!"
"Second Uncle Sang!" Sang Hong couldn’t help but frown and took his hand back, saying earnestly: "If Second Uncle Sang has sothing to say, please feel free to speak!"
Unsolicited kindness is often a sign of ulterior motives; Sang Hong’s honesty does not imply foolishness.
"Ah, this place isn’t good for talking!" Sang Pingliang didn’t care about his slightly distant address and attitude, still smiling warmly: "Co on, you’ll know once you co with !"
"There’s still half an hour left before school ends, so please wait, Second Uncle Sang!" Sang Hong politely said.
"What are you being so serious about with these useless students! Let’s go, go, go!"
"Second Uncle Sang!" Sang Hong stepped back, insisting seriously: "I have accepted their tuition fee; how can I be so negligent! Please wait a mont, Second Uncle Sang!"
"You really are—— Alright, fine, you go ahead then, I’ll wait for you right here!" Sang Pingliang, helpless, could only sigh.
How strange! Sang Hong was secretly shocked, his heart skipped a beat, and he thought to himself that sothing was amiss—could it be that Sang Pingliang knew sothing?
Sang Hong returned to the school with a heavy heart, unable to calm down anymore.
Half an hour later, when he left the school, he expected Sang Pingliang to have already left. To his surprise, Sang Pingliang stood up from sitting on a stone, patting his buttocks and ca over again, insisting, "Co on, follow your Second Uncle!"
"Please go ahead, Second Uncle Sang, I can walk by myself!" Sang Hong sighed and had no choice but to follow.
"Oh, Ahong is here!" Running into Mrs. Li at the school intersection, Sang Hong was taken aback, puzzled by the couple’s intentions.
Walking unwittingly for a while, and upon looking up, the courtyard of Madam Li Zheng’s house was right before his eyes. Sang Hong stopped in surprise, "Second Uncle Sang, Second Aunt Sang, what is this?"
"Ha ha, co on, co in and you’ll know! Quick, co in!" Sang Pingliang and Mrs. Li hustled Sang Hong inside.
"Who’s there!" Madam Li Zheng ca out to see the commotion, and upon seeing the three of them, with Mrs. Li holding two plump chickens, she was also stunned, "Oh, this is——"
This couple was known in the village for being stingy, and now they actually brought two chickens to visit? Moreover, they usually disliked Sang Hong and his brothers, so why were they all smiles towards Sang Hong today?
"He he, sister-in-law, is Li Zheng at ho? We have a little favor to ask of him!" Mrs. Li said quickly with a smile.
"Oh, he’s inside, please co in!" Madam Li Zheng, bewildered, gave them a glance and hurriedly stepped aside.
"What brings you again? What’s the matter?" Li Zheng frowned as soon as he saw the couple.
"Ha ha, we have an important matter for Li Zheng to decide on!" Mrs. Li tried to ingratiate herself with a smile, lifting up the two plump chickens, "Please accept these two chickens as a token of our appreciation! This hen is still laying eggs, he he!"
Li Zheng’s eyebrows shot up, "Put that aside for now, what’s the matter? Sit down and talk first!"
"We——"
"Cough cough!" Sang Pingliang, seeing Mrs. Li talk too much, imdiately coughed twice and coldly stared at her.
"Uh, Master, you speak, you speak!" Mrs. Li stopped talking, disconcerted.
Sang Pingliang then respectfully saluted and stated his case, carefully avoiding any ntion of yesterday’s events. He started by complinting Li Zheng, then went on to bemoan his own plight, describing how at over fifty he was childless and how desolate his old age would be, sighing heavily when he reached the emotional points.
Li Zheng’s expression softened slightly as he listened but then beca even more annoyed, thinking to himself that this couple also understood this principle. If they understood, why be so miserly? Being so cold and uncaring even to their own nephew, they might as well take their wealth with them into the coffin!
After finishing their lants, Sang Pingliang turned to the purpose of their visit, then made a great effort to squeeze out so tears, stood up, and deeply bowed to Li Zheng: "Please, Li Zheng, make a decision for us!"
Mrs. Li also hurriedly followed suit, "Please, Li Zheng, have pity on the two of us!"
Sang Hong was taken aback, his complexion changed!
He had never expected that Second Uncle Sang and Second Aunt Sang were harboring such intentions!
Having barely managed to navigate yesterday’s situation, Sang Hong was clear in his mind that he could never agree to their request. However, if he didn’t agree, what then? After all, their argunt was reasonable!
Li Zheng was also stunned and asked in disbelief: "What did you say? Say it again!"
