Sang Wan’s body stiffened, her heartbeat inadvertently missed a couple of beats, gazing at him in a trance.

"Madam, why not stay? The young master’s thoughts are all on you!" Mrs. Li said hurriedly with a smile, gesturing with her eyes to stop Liu Ya and the others.

Without realizing it, Sang Wan forcefully tugged at the hand he was holding, but the strength of the drunken man was surprisingly strong, and she dared not exert too much force in front of everyone, so she had to give up and barely nodded: "You all may leave, I am here, that’s enough!"

Mrs. Li couldn’t have wished for anything better, cheerfully leading everyone out and gently shutting the door.

Sang Wan sighed soundlessly and relaxed completely, attentively examining Shi Fengju’s facial features without needing to hide her gaze.

"Miss Wan, Miss Wan..." Shi Fengju half-closed eyes, mumbling her na again.

"I’m here!" Sang Wan patted the brocade quilt with her other hand gently, "Are you alright? It’s getting late, I need to sleep too!" she said, pulling at her hand forcefully.

Unexpectedly, Shi Fengju’s grip was tight as iron, and Sang Wan couldn’t break free no matter how hard she tried. She beca a bit frantic and began prying his fingers off one by one.

Perhaps because it hurt, Shi Fengju finally let go; Sang Wan just sighed in relief and rubbed her reddened wrist, only for Shi Fengju to suddenly grasp her wrist tightly again, his eyes suddenly opening, staring at her intensely and said softly, "Miss Wan, don’t be angry, I’m sorry!"

"I’m not angry!" Sang Wan gritted her teeth and said, "Let go of quickly!"

"Really?" Shi Fengju’s eyes, cloudy with drunkenness, brightened and his lips slightly curled up, revealing a joyful smile, "Miss Wan isn’t angry anymore?"

"If you don’t let go now, who knows!" Ah! What are you doing!" Sang Wan said exasperatedly, suppressing her scream as she whispered lowly, only to be pulled forcefully by him and uncontrollably fall onto the bed, her head spinning as Shi Fengju pressed down heavily on her.

"Shi Fengju! Get up, get up!" His body heavily laying on hers, his head resting in the crook of her neck, the breath slling of alcohol cool and hot on her neck, Sang Wan’s heart raced so fast it felt like it might leap out, her face flushing red.

"Shi Fengju! Shi Fengju!" Sang Wan gritted her teeth and desperately pushed against him, but he had already closed his eyes and slipped back into sleep, mumbling sothing indistinct and letting her go before, in the next second, changing his position to hold her even tighter, securely embracing her in his arms.

Sang Wan was both embarrassed and annoyed, struggling till she was breathless, only to find all her efforts futile. Breathlessly, she couldn’t help but tilt her head to look at the handso face so close to her, so near that a slight turn would bump into his face, she could even hear his heartbeat!

But was he really this close to her? Where would he be the next second?

Sang Wan closed her eyes and stopped thinking, soon drifting off to sleep as well.

The day had already brightened, and the bedroom beca light.

Shi Fengju gently opened his eyes, shook his still sowhat groggy head, suddenly feeling confused and unsure of where he was.

He couldn’t bla himself for this confusion, as after all, this big bed had never been his, he was genuinely befuddled.

His gaze slowly moved, eting a white face showing annoyance and eyes revealing irritation. Shi Fengju was shocked awake then, only now realizing he was lying on top of Sang Wan! His head buried in the crook of her neck and his arms holding her tightly.

"Ah!" Shi Fengju’s face suddenly changed, in a panic he let go and sat up hastily.

His hands and feet flustered, he regretfully slapped his forehead, "Sorry! Sorry! Miss Wan..."

Sang Wan, exhausted, closed her eyes, her small face showing traces of tears and looked pale, she weakly pulled the brocade quilt over herself, turned her head inward and whispered softly, "You can leave, I want to lie down for a while more."

"Miss Wan!" Shi Fengju’s lips quivered, he nodded heavily, "Then I, I’ll leave first, you, rest!"

Turning to get off the bed, Shi Fengju couldn’t help but look back at Sang Wan lying on her side inward, his feelings very complex. Remorse was definite, yet inexplicably there was also a hint of unspeakable and inexpressible sweetness as well as deep pity.

What had he done!

He clearly had an agreent with her, how could he shalessly take advantage of her! It was all ruined now, in her eyes, how was he different from a scoundrel?

Just thinking about how she would see him, considering him as such a person in her heart, Shi Fengju felt a heavy sense of dejection.
