Leng Mochen left, accompanied by his lawyer, assistant, and bodyguards, heading straight for Y Country in an impressive entourage.

Before his departure, he specifically instructed Long Wu and Xu Er, who were dropping him off at the airport, to lend Li Si a hand if anything ca up on her end.

Xu Er suddenly rembered the incident with the online post that had happened to Li Si the last ti Leng Mochen traveled abroad.

He couldn’t help but gripe about how it might be such bad luck if sothing went wrong again this ti—how could it be possible that trouble arises each ti he steps out of the door? It’s just too bizarre!

Long Wu didn’t hesitate to deliver a solid flick to Xu Er’s head in defense of Leng Mochen.

Xu Er yelped dramatically in response!

During last night’s birthday banquet, Leng Mochen and Long Wu had discussed Han Mingzhe’s issue at length.

Although Long Wu had initially wanted to impulsively break Han Mingzhe’s leg, he cald down and realized that such a crude approach wouldn’t truly satisfy his grudge.

They devised a more wicked and cunning plan instead.

After talking about that matter, Leng Mochen specifically asked Long Wu to oversee the Antique City’s acceptance process and to prepare initial promotional efforts once he returned.

Li Si stood aside holding Buding, her gaze glued to him as he systematically managed every detail, her admiration for him shining through her expression.

But just thinking about his upcoming departure filled her heart with an uncontainable sadness.

Even though the two had been tangled in passionate intimacy all night, leaving her aching everywhere, it couldn’t stop her resolve to accompany Buding and see him off.

Initially, Leng Mochen hadn’t wanted them to co, but in the end, he gave in to Li Si.

Now, looking at Li Si and his son—both looking so forlorn, like abandoned puppies—he couldn’t help but feel a pang of guilt himself.

But so things were simply beyond his control; all he could do was silently promise himself to co back as soon as possible.

Buding seed to sense his father was about to leave, stretching out his chubby arms, asking to be held.

Leng Mochen opened his arms and gathered the two people closest to his heart, pulling them into a tight embrace.

He leaned close to Li Si’s ear and murmured, "Take good care of yourself and the child while I’m away. I’ll co back as soon as my work is done."

Li Si nodded earnestly, "Alright! Don’t worry! We’ll wait for you! Call every day, okay? Make sure you eat on ti, and don’t overwork yourself—the body is the foundation for everything!"

Her words made Leng Mochen chuckle. He let go of the mother and son deliberately and whispered teasingly, "The most important thing you an is that last part, huh? My body’s in excellent shape—you didn’t realize that last night?"

Li Si’s face flushed red imdiately as mories of the previous night flooded her mind. She glared at him in mortified frustration, "Cut it out! The child and the others are around—watch what you’re saying!"

Not far away, Long Wu and Xu Er quickly averted their gaze, pretending they neither saw nor heard anything.

Their exaggeratedly casual behavior made their feigned ignorance all the more conspicuous.

Leng Mochen finally reached over to ruffle her hair, affectionately grazing her nose, "Take care of yourself!"

"Got it! You have to take good care of yourself too!" Tears shimred in Li Si’s eyes as she spoke. She didn’t want to let her emotions run wild; she had reminded herself before coming to the airport—whatever happens, she wouldn’t cry. She would smile.

After all, it was no big deal—he was just going abroad for a while. She told herself to be strong, reminding herself that she was now a grown adult, even a mother.

But when the emotions surged, they were beyond her control.

Leng Mochen gazed deeply at her one last ti before kissing Buding’s forehead and turning briskly to leave.

He walked away accompanied by his large group of associates, their movents forming a collective wave moving further into the distance.

Li Si watched his retreating figure until her tears broke free and spilled down her cheeks uncontrollably. Not wanting Long Wu and the others to mock her, she hurriedly wiped her face with the back of her hand.

So, when Leng Mochen turned around to glance back at her, she was smiling—both of them waving farewell from afar.

Long Wu and Xu Er exchanged a aningful look, confirming their thoughts—Leng Er and his wife truly had a deep bond.

A week after Leng Mochen left, Li Si still hadn’t fully regained her composure.

She hadn’t thought much of it when he was around.

But now that he was abroad, while everything in the house—maids, security, everything—remained the sa, the absence of that one person left her profoundly aware of its solitude and emptiness.

Even Little Buding called "Daddy, Daddy" a few tis unconsciously, nudging Li Si to tease him. "When Daddy was ho, why didn’t you call him like this?"

If Leng Mochen had heard his son calling him like that every day while at ho, his emotions would’ve undoubtedly soared.

But now, with him far away, all they could do was connect through the sound of his voice over the phone.

The inability to physically touch him filled her with an indescribable ache.

Thankfully, he had said he’d be back soon after finishing his work in a few days.

That promise alone was enough to temporarily quell her tide of longing.

Buding’s big, dark eyes blinked as he pressed his toy car tightly in his tiny fists, saying, "Mama... Papa..."

Nearby, Wang Mingyue held back her laughter. She found Mrs. Leng to be thoroughly amusing.

Xiao Guai played up its presence in contrast, scratching its furry head and grinning exaggeratedly, "Ooo... Ooo..."

Li Si laughed at its antics and teased, "Here you go again? You’ve had enough to eat today! Even if you keep acting cute, there won’t be any extra treats!"

Xiao Guai puckered its lips in mock grievance, "Ow... Ow..."

Its over-the-top performance successfully diverted both Li Si’s and Buding’s attention for a while.

At that mont, the doorbell rang, and Jiang Tong announced that Mrs. Leng and Xiao Ning had arrived.

Li Si casually tidied up the sofa, which Buding and Xiao Guai had left in disarray. Jiang Mingyue quickly put down her tasks to help her.

When Mrs. Leng and Leng Ning entered, they were carrying a mountain of packages.

Li Si smiled, glancing over at them. Mrs. Leng had been visiting frequently lately, and she had spoken with Xiao Ning on the phone last night, knowing she had returned late from her travels.

At first glance, she could see Xiao Ning had visibly tanned. When Xiao Ning smiled, her teeth looked startlingly white. "Sis-in-law! Buding! I’ve missed you guys so much!"

"Did you have fun?" Li Si asked warmly after enduring Xiao Ning’s exuberant hug.

Xiao Ning nodded enthusiastically, "Yes! So much fun! If I hadn’t arrived so late last night, I would’ve co to your place first thing! Sis-in-law! Little Buding seems to have grown a lot!"

She distinctly rembered that Buding wasn’t this big when she left.

Her observation prompted Mrs. Leng, who was nearby, to chi in, "Kids grow the fastest at this age! Our Buding is developing so well! Sisi, did Mochen call yesterday? Did he ntion when he’d be back?"

A mother’s heart always worries, and she hadn’t stopped thinking about him.

Especially since she heard the foreign financial crisis was worsening, it was hard not to worry about his circumstances.

"He ntioned yesterday that he’d be back in a few days! Mom, don’t stress too much—it’ll be fine!"

Mrs. Leng felt a bit more reassured seeing the look in Li Si’s eyes but also knew her daughter-in-law was likely even more eager for his return.

"That’s good! Your dad said we wouldn’t leave either—no matter what, we’ll wait until Mochen returns before heading abroad!"

Their overseas travel plans had been delayed repeatedly, but Mr. and Mrs. Leng didn’t mind.

Traveling could happen anyti, but with their son out of the country, leaving Li Si and Buding without a reliable figure around wasn’t ideal.

As parents, they wanted to step up now—when else would their role be more crucial?
