Li Si watched and listened indifferently; she truly had no idea what was going through this woman’s mind.
How could she be so confident that Li Si would agree to be friends with her?
Does she even have the qualifications? Does she not understand that tis have changed?
"Oh, sorry, huh! I’ve never heard him ntion it!"
Though her words sounded apologetic, there wasn’t even a hint of regret on Li Si’s face.
Yin Peiwen’s expression shifted slightly. Her brother had already told her yesterday about running into Leng Er and Xu Er at the banquet.
And today, by chance, while dining with her best friend, she imdiately noticed Leng Er’s wife when she walked in.
But now, what was this little girl saying? She hadn’t heard Leng Er ntion her?
Does that an Leng Er...but what?
Yin Peiwen quickly collected herself and smiled gracefully: "Oh, I see! No wonder, back then I was closer with Long Wu. But it’s all right; there’s plenty of ti in the future!"
Li Si arched her beautiful brows slightly and smiled faintly. "By the way, you don’t know who the person across from you is yet, do you?"
It was only then that Yin Peiwen truly shifted her gaze to Su ng. "And who might this be?"
Su ng smiled lightly and said, "I’m Long Wu’s wife!"
Yin Peiwen’s expression afterward—until Li Si and Su ng left that Western restaurant—was sothing Li Si recalled later and couldn’t stop laughing about.
Yin Peiwen probably hadn’t expected that the wives of the two n she prided herself on knowing would appear simultaneously.
After Su ng finished laughing, she looked at Li Si with a hint of unease: "Sisi, don’t misunderstand. There’s absolutely nothing between your Leng Er and her.
I can vouch for that. When she first walked over, I honestly didn’t even recognize her.
When I got together with Long Wu, she had already gone abroad.
Plus, with all the changes over the years, even I barely recognized her."
This woman really had sothing peculiar about her—coming over just because of a na to make a claim.
Li Si waved her hand with an air of nonchalance: "Oh, co on, what are you worried about? I didn’t take her to heart at all in the first place! As if she’s soone who matters!
We talked about Brother Wu the whole ti we t; I didn’t even have the chance to gossip with you yet.
Yesterday, at the banquet, I t her brother Yin Rui, and from what he said, we already knew about Yin Peiwen’s divorce.
So seeing her today wasn’t shocking or concerning in the slightest!
We should just live our own lives. Why care about what’s going on with people like them?
Seriously, are we supposed to doubt our husbands just because of so forr charming older sister who’s now divorced? That’d be truly laughable!"
To be honest, though, Li Si did feel a bit annoyed hearing Yin Peiwen say she used to be closer with Long Wu. For so reason, it had sounded grating.
However, given how Su ng and Long Wu were already at odds, Li Si didn’t want to say anything that would further upset Su ng.
Thus, she deliberately avoided the topic.
In her mind, she decided she’d eventually remind Long Wu to be cautious about won like this.
Best not to create unnecessary misunderstandings.
Su ng visibly relaxed a little but suddenly rembered sothing, her face shifting slightly again. "Sisi! You and Leng Er—one just t them within the last few years, the other had mory loss—there are still so things you wouldn’t know.
When I first got to know Long Wu, I heard about Yin Peiwen being quite sothing. Back when her family was doing well, a lot of these guys were crazy about her.
But she had an arrogant air, never looking at anyone. The most she did was hang out with your Leng Er, my Long Wu, and Xu Er.
Back then, there was even talk of so fight between two groups of guys over her that led to them becoming friends."
Li Si blinked, her curiosity piqued. "Two groups? Who versus who? It wouldn’t have been my Leng Er and Long Wu, would it?"
Who would’ve thought they’d had a mont of chivalry for this beauty in the past!
Su ng hesitated, looking uncomfortable, but eventually nodded slowly.
She hadn’t anticipated Li Si’s response to be a burst of hearty laughter.
"How amusing!"
Su ng simply stared at her, dumbfounded. "Sisi! Are you not the slightest bit worried? Or angry?"
Truth be told, when Su ng first heard about it, she had felt a touch of jealousy herself.
Even hearing Yin Peiwen talk earlier about being close to Long Wu stirred emotions within her she hadn’t shown outwardly.
Li Si shook her head: "I don’t feel those things at all. I just find it kind of funny! You said it yourself—it was back then, when her family was thriving and they were all young.
Now, they’re all in their thirties, married with families. And even if that woman maintained herself impeccably, she’s still an older, divorced woman compared to them. What’s worth thinking so much about?"
Su ng began to see Li Si’s point, feeling that it might indeed be nothing to worry about, so she didn’t dwell on it.
Neither of them realized, however, what kind of impact this woman would have on their lives in the days to co.
After parting ways with Su ng, Li Si didn’t go straight ho; she headed over to the Leng Family office to pick up Leng Mochen.
By the ti she arrived, Long Wu had taken what he ca for and vanished.
Chances were, at that very mont, he was sowhere applying ointnt!
"President Leng, when are you getting off work? I’m here to pick you up and take you ho!"
Leng Mochen raised his head amidst a towering pile of files, his eyes filled with laughter as he extended his hand toward her. "Co here!"
Li Si pouted as she leaned closer, her voice laced with grievance: "Why didn’t you wake up this morning? Mr. Jin ca by, and I didn’t even know!"
Leng Mochen pulled her tenderly into his arms, gently explaining: "I saw how exhausted you were and thought I’d let you sleep a little more. Darling, is it still sore?"
Li Si slapped his forearm hard and looked up at him accusingly. "What do you think?"
When he got carried away, it was impossible to stop him—who’s to know the pain?
His smile remained, indulgent as ever, while she vented. When she finally stopped hitting him, he carefully held her reddened hand in his palms.
"What were you up to earlier?" Leng Mochen had already known when she stepped out, but he pretended ignorance so she wouldn’t think he was overly controlling.
Li Si glanced sideways at him. "Oh, stop acting! All the people around are your informants—you knew I went out to eat with Su ng!
Haha, but I bet you wouldn’t guess who we ran into!"
"Who’d you et?" Leng Mochen’s curiosity was mildly piqued. "I’m guessing...a woman!"
Li Si exclaid in mock amazent: "Wow, incredible! You’re right—it was a woman! And it was the woman we ntioned last night!"
Leng Mochen’s brow furrowed slightly, deliberately teasing her: "Don’t tell it was Yin Rui’s girlfriend?"
He had already received a report that Yin Peiwen had t up with Li Si so quickly.
This didn’t sit well with him.
She toyed with his large hand while smiling, shaking her head. "Wrong! It was his sister, Yin Peiwen! Can you believe how funny this is? She ca right up to our table and said she found fascinating and wanted to be friends with ."
"Don’t bother with her. She’s out of her mind." Leng Mochen entirely dismissed such people.
Where did she get such confidence?
"Still, what is her endga? I keep thinking this woman is as troublemaking as Qian Rouxuan! As for you, I’m not concerned. It’s Long Wu..."
Li Si was about to bring up an issue regarding Long Wu.
Just then, a faint vibration buzzed from one of the drawers in Leng Mochen’s desk...
