Li Si and Bai Shasha were too engrossed in their conversation to notice soone sneaking up on them!

That person was none other than Bai Shasha’s ex-boyfriend, Cao Yufan! Who knows how much he overheard.

Li Si, with her sharp sense of sll, instantly picked up a strong scent of alcohol on him!

Her indifferent gaze swept over him. Cao Yufan’s current appearance was nothing like when she last saw him after returning to North City.

At this mont, his disheveled look was striking—ssy hair, bloodshot eyes, and a scruffy jaw covered in stubble, making him appear exhausted.

The dark blue suit he wore was even crumpled, leaving one to wonder how a grown man ends up like this.

Bai Shasha cast a cold, sidelong glance at him. "What are you doing here?"

She had no desire whatsoever to see him again. The once intertwined emotions between them had long since vanished.

And after getting together with Xu Er, she found Cao Yufan’s repeated loathso behavior even more unbearable. She felt that breaking up with him might have been her greatest stroke of luck!

Cao Yufan looked at Bai Shasha sorrowfully. "Shasha! Can’t we just have a proper conversation? Don’t you care at all about the years we’ve spent together? I’ve known you since elentary school, and now you’re going to be soone else’s bride! It hurts, Shasha! It really hurts!"

As soon as he spoke, the sll of alcohol grew heavier, prompting both Li Si and Bai Shasha to instinctively cover their noses.

After finishing his lant, Cao Yufan even clasped his chest with a dramatic expression of anguish, drawing a crowd of onlookers from passersby!

He was clearly just a drunkard now!

Bai Shasha couldn’t help but laugh in exasperation. She sneered coldly, "Cao Yufan! Are you out of your mind? Sure, we’ve known each other since we were kids. But do you really not rember why we broke up? Did you get hit by a car and lose your mory? Forgotten everything? Let ask you—does ng Xi know you’re here saying all this to ?"

He really had the nerve to bring all this up! They broke up ages ago and beca strangers to each other. What was he after now? Mourning the past? Ridiculous!

She wasn’t oblivious to Cao Yufan’s current situation. North City wasn’t that big, and their mutual relatives and friends knew about their past. Their mothers even worked at the sa place, so news spread quickly—who wouldn’t know?

Cao Yufan hurriedly tried to explain, "I’ve made things clear with her. She won’t bother again! Shasha! My heart still belongs to you! But I also understand that so feelings are dood by fate. It’s my fault—I couldn’t resist temptation! But Shasha, for old tis’ sake, I want to give you a piece of advice: n, especially rich n, can’t be trusted! If you regret now, it’s still not too late!"

Watching coldly on the sidelines, Li Si found Cao Yufan absolutely repulsive. He was the one who cheated with ng Xi, and now, on the eve of Shasha’s wedding, he dares to show up spewing this nonsense?

What exactly was he thinking? Regret? Did he think they could magically nd their broken relationship? Shaless!

However, noticing the sparks of anger flaring in Shasha’s eyes, Li Si realized she didn’t need to say a word—Bai Shasha was about to strike back.

"Cao Yufan! You’ve truly shattered my worldview. And ng Xi? She’s really sothing—of all people, she just had to fall for you! Whether my man is dependable or not is none of your concern! Even if rich n are unreliable, they’re still better than shaless broke n like you!

Oh, and by the way, I heard from my mom that your family is preparing a wedding for you and ng Xi. So stop telling pathetic lies—it only makes despise you more!"

Li Si gave her a big thumbs up. Well said!

After finishing her tirade, Bai Shasha felt imnsely relieved. Disregarding the expression on Cao Yufan’s face, she shared a knowing smile with Li Si, linked arms, and walked away.

n like him deserved to be scolded!

Cao Yufan stumbled forward a few steps, his face full of pain. "Bai Shasha! You..."

By the ti Li Si and Bai Shasha were several ters away, a loud woman’s voice suddenly echoed from behind: "Cao Yufan! You bastard!"

Both won instinctively turned their heads to look.

Li Si raised an eyebrow. "ng Xi has been tailing him!"

Otherwise, how could she show up so quickly?

Bai Shasha smirked sarcastically. "Of course. Now Cao Yufan has his hands full! Saves him from ddling in others’ business—he should manage his own ss first!"

ng Xi glared at them coldly, her eyes burning with hostility as if ready to devour them.

"Cao Yufan! Are you still hung up on her?"

Cao Yufan looked rattled. He never anticipated ng Xi’s sudden arrival here.

Nor did he expect her to overhear those words.

"I... ng Xi! Didn’t we agree on this?" Cao Yufan stamred, caught in a bind and thoroughly embarrassed.

Not far away, Bai Shasha and Li Si crossed their arms, standing idly by, enjoying the drama.

ng Xi gazed at him tearfully. "How could you treat like this?" Clutching her abdon, her face twisted in pain.

Cao Yufan’s expression changed instantly. He reached out to support ng Xi, but she violently pushed him away.

Li Si’s sharp eyes caught on to sothing and, fearing trouble, she quickly tugged Bai Shasha. "Let’s go! No more watching this ss—it’s a waste of ti!"

Tomorrow is Bai Shasha’s big day. Why let these two losers create unnecessary complications?

Bai Shasha figured ng Xi might be pregnant. Sneering in their direction, she remarked sarcastically, "Figures! What a bore! Let’s head back—we’ve been out long enough!"

As they walked farther away, ng Xi’s gaze remained fixated on the two of them, her eyes simring with intense hatred!

Cao Yufan anxiously asked, "Are you okay?"

Though he wasn’t thrilled about becoming a father so soon, it was clearly fate. After all, who would’ve thought a drunken night would lead to pregnancy?

What’s more, his mother was over the moon about ng Xi’s pregnancy.

His mother’s exact words were: "We don’t need to compete with the Bai Family over wealth—we’ll beat them in giving a grandson!"

If ng Xi lost the baby because of him, he knew an endless barrage of bla and scolding awaited him!

ng Xi turned to look at the man she once loved so deeply, but now, not a trace of his forr charm remained.

Thinking back on the things he just said, her heart ached like never before.

Clenching her teeth, she let out a cold laugh. "Cao Yufan! Do you even care whether I live or die?"

She felt utterly disillusioned by him!

Bai Shasha was about to marry a bona fide rich, handso second-generation heir and ascend to a life of luxury.

And her? She had stolen Cao Yufan from Bai Shasha, thinking he was a treasure desired by all, but now it was clear—he was just a piece of worthless trash.

Even if she went through with a shotgun wedding and married Cao Yufan, what kind of life could she hope for?

Could she ever compare to Bai Shasha?

Cao Yufan, already fuming from the encounter with Bai Shasha, had been feeling guilty and anxious toward ng Xi before. That was the only reason he had been speaking humbly.

But now, her forceful interrogation and sarcastic tone pushed him over the edge, and he couldn’t hold back his venom any longer.

With a dismissive laugh, he shot back, "ng Xi! If you regret it now, you still have ti! Get rid of the baby, and you can go find yourself a rich, handso guy!"

Don’t think I don’t know what’s going on in your mind.

It was the sa words directed at two different won—but with entirely different emotions.
