There’s a partnership deal requiring Leng Mochen to attend the signing himself, and the location is in Y Country. Since Li Si beca pregnant and gave birth, his business trips have mostly been short, lasting only a day or two.
But this ti is different; he’s expected to stay there for nearly a week. There are several events he has to attend, as well as two important business banquets.
The child is too young; otherwise, he would really want to take them along.
But thinking about how a few months later the plane might be ready, it’d be much easier to travel wherever they’d like.
Li Si wrapped her arms around his waist and looked up at him: "Even if I say no, you still have to go! But don’t worry, I won’t be ho caring for Buding all by myself. With so help, I’ll be fine! Still, hmm, when you’re out, you have to behave yourself, okay? If you run into so blonde beauty abroad, you can’t let yourself fall for her!"
Of course, there’s a bit of reluctance, but hey, people have responsibilities. You can’t neglect work just because you want to be a good husband and father.
Besides, the heavy burden of the Leng Family and Mo Si both rests on his shoulders, and recently, there’s also the launch of Mo Si International Furniture. The pressure is imaginable.
Leng Mochen smiled and tapped her forehead lightly: "What are you thinking, you little rascal? In my heart, there’s only you and Buding. Those so-called beauties don’t even catch my eye, alright?"
His wallet now holds photos of Li Si and Buding, and the sa goes for the photo album sitting on his desk at the company office. These always remind him that he’s no longer alone.
This feeling—it’s really wonderful. Wonderful!
Li Si sweetly entwined her arms around his neck: "Tsk, tsk! Look at Chief Housekeeper Leng’s way with words! You’ve got grinning ear to ear, Your Majesty is overjoyed!"
Leng Mochen’s eyes darkened as he leaned closer to her, catching his reflection in her gaze. "If Your Majesty is pleased, is there a reward?"
"A reward! Mmm..."—wait, that’s not what I ant! You little rascal...
Early the next morning, Li Si woke up bright and early. Just as she opened her eyes, she saw Leng Mochen turned sideways, his gaze full of vigor as he looked at her—it seed like he’d been awake for a while.
"Why are you staring at like that?" she asked, her voice slightly husky from just waking.
He pulled down the arm she had draped over her eyes and smirked mischievously: "I did so counting; once I get back from my trip, that’ll mark exactly three months! Stay ho and wait for to return and pamper you!"
Li Si groaned as she buried her face into a soft pillow, "Are you seriously thinking about this first thing in the morning? Ugh..."
After a quick breakfast, Li Si held Buding in her arms and walked Leng Mochen out the door. Xiao Ding, the company driver, was waiting to take him to the airport. His team of subordinates for this trip were set to et him there.
"Take good care of yourself and our son!" Leng Mochen reminded her as he kissed Li Si’s forehead goodbye.
Buding giggled, stretching out his arms eagerly, wanting his father to hold him. Leng Mochen didn’t play favorites and also planted a kiss on Buding’s chubby little cheek. Imrsed in the sadness of temporary separation, Li Si didn’t oppose it.
"You take care of yourself too! We’ll be waiting for you at ho!" Li Si said, her eyes growing slightly moist as she finished.
"Alright!" Giving them one last deep look, Leng Mochen stepped into the car. Xiao Ding shut the door, nodded to Li Si, and got in the car himself.
Leng Mochen rolled down the window and said, "If anything happens, go find Long Wu and Jiang Feng. They’ll help you out!"
"Got it! Husband, safe travels!" Li Si waved at him with a smile, though her eyes were a bit red.
Leng Mochen pointed a finger at her playfully. "Be good! I’m leaving!"
Li Si forcefully suppressed the ache in her nose as she smiled and shooed him away: "Go already! I’ve got it!"
After reluctantly seeing Leng Mochen off, Li Si held Buding and, noticing how sunny it was outside, decided not to head back indoors just yet. She sat on the white swing in the yard, her child giggling non-stop.
He really didn’t have a care in the world—no wonder they say kids are the happiest. Without a worry, all they need to do is eat, sleep, and play every day!
Li Si gently pinched his plump, dimpled little hand. "You little rascal, do you even realize your dad’s gone? He won’t be back for about a week! Sigh, why does it feel so empty inside?"
Buding grinned widely, drool dripping from the corner of his mouth before letting out a loud, unmistakable fart.
Li Si couldn’t help but burst into laughter. He’s definitely about to go poop!
She found herself amused—what’s the point of saying these things when he doesn’t understand a word? Her thoughts quickly shifted fully to her child, easing much of the sadness brought on by Leng Mochen’s departure.
Today was Buding’s swimming day, so Jiang Tong drove Li Si and Sister Ding to the early education center.
This center caters to children aged 0 to 6; for a baby as young as Buding, swimming lessons are what’s currently offered.
Previously, she’d taken Buding swimming at a private hospital, but due to her dislike of Zhang Shan, she wanted to avoid crossing paths with her. Thus, Li Si switched to this early education center based on a friend’s recomndation.
The decor here was definitely more appealing to children than that of the private hospital.
Li Si had brought Buding to a few early education classes recently. The kids who attended varied in age, but to her, her child would always be the best—no one seed as clever or adorable as Buding.
Even the early education teacher adored Buding imnsely.
As they left the early education center, Li Si received a call from Bai Shasha, who said she was at Li Si’s doorstep and had sothing urgent—critically urgent—to discuss!
After ending the call, Li Si quickly urged Jiang Tong to drive faster.
Judging by Shasha’s tone, things didn’t sound trivial. But when Li Si asked her over the phone, she refused to explain, insisting it couldn’t be made clear over just a call.
Soon, they arrived outside the villa. Li Si hurriedly got out of the car. Bai Shasha grabbed Li Si with a tense expression and spoke quickly: "Si! There’s a thread circulating online that’s really bad news for you, and a few dia outlets are looking to interview you. I ran out of work just to warn you—stay low and avoid going out for now!"
Li Si held her hand. "Shasha! Calm down, let’s go inside to talk!" Although the situation was urgent, there’s no use panicking over sothing that’s already happened.
Seeing her composed deanor helped Bai Shasha settle down slightly. Once seated on the sofa and sipping the juice handed to her by Aunt Liu, Shasha finally began to explain what was going on.
Early this morning, Bai Shasha had received a directive at work—a top-priority effort to interview the two parties involved and follow up on developnts.
It turned out that last night, a post appeared on a particular website. In the post, a woman who claid she was willing to "die for Leng Mochen" shared her story. She stated she loved him so much, and all she wanted was to silently admire him from afar—she didn’t care about identity or status and pleaded with Li Si to give her a chance.
Comnters below the post accused Li Si of being a scheming woman who had trapped Leng Mochen with tactics and a child.
The internet quickly caught fire, as many people knew Leng Mochen, the president of the Leng Family Group, was labeled a devoted husband. Not long ago, he had welcod a son. Now, with this scandal surfacing, his wife appeared to be far from ordinary. So people, eager for drama, flocked to leave comnts, exacerbating the situation further.
Truth be told, the public had grown numb to such stories by now. Since when hasn’t a wealthy man had a mistress or two? Many lead double lives, keeping stability at ho while indulging in affairs outside. While people gossiped enthusiastically over this scandal, few truly cared.
