Ye Duowei scoffed lightly, "How have you wronged ? I said I wanted to go abroad imdiately! You insisted we wait until after the New Year! Well, now look! I’ve been beaten up like this! Are you satisfied?"
Sotis she truly couldn’t understand what was going through her mother’s mind. Always scheming about this or that—when it ca down to it, perhaps the only one she truly loved was Ye Cheng, her father?
To her, both her grandparents certainly ranked below her father in her mother’s heart.
Tian Yaru covered her mouth and cried, "Weiwei! Seeing you hurt makes sad too! How could you think of in this way?"
Ye Duowei didn’t want to look at her for another second. She turned her head away, closed her eyes, and tried to ignore her.
The hospital room fell into silence, with only the occasional muffled sobs from Tian Yaru.
Suddenly, the white door of the room was abruptly pushed open from outside. Ye Duowei was startled, and Tian Yaru stood up, angry, to see who had barged in. She didn’t recognize the person, but Ye Duowei did—it was Wang i.
Seeing Wang i’s furious expression, Ye Duowei felt a twisted sense of satisfaction. Panic now? Too late!
"Ye Duowei! I need to talk to you!" Wang i got straight to the point, her tone forceful and her gaze sharp as she glared at her.
Wang i hadn’t been doing well these days. Once their family friends and relatives caught wind of "that incident," it spread like wildfire, leaving her household buried under whispers and gossip. Her reputation was utterly ruined.
She thought of countless ways to get back at Ye Duowei, but it was as if Ye Duowei were intentionally hiding away—she wouldn’t leave her house!
No matter how strong Wang i was, she couldn’t just storm into Ye Duowei’s ho and settle the score.
So, she was intensely frustrated!
Yin Xian, too, was resolute. Her texts and calls to him were like a stone sinking into the ocean—no response at all.
She knew Yin Xian must be blaming her for this ss. But honestly, who hasn’t made a foolish mistake in their youth?
And being realistic, Yin Xian, a divorced man, could hardly find a pure, "blank slate" kind of girl, could he?
Does such a person even exist in today’s society?
On top of that, wasn’t his vindictive ex-wife the mastermind behind this all? She was a victim here too, wasn’t she?
Recently, she’d been in a depressive funk at ho. Her parents noticed and pressed her until she revealed that it had all been orchestrated by Yin Xian’s ex-wife.
Mrs. Wang’s fiery temper flared up—she insisted on teaching that wretched woman a lesson!
Wang i, already fuming herself, didn’t think too deeply about it. Her mother didn’t even know Ye Duowei personally, so what harm could she actually do?
But things don’t always go as expected. Unable to locate Ye Duowei, Mrs. Wang relied on her experience tracking mistresses and gathering intel to successfully corner Ye Duowei and her female friend as they left a mall after shopping.
Mrs. Wang didn’t waste ti. She confird the na and then launched into her attack!
While hitting and cursing, she dragged Ye Duowei’s ancestors into her tirade and made vulgar remarks about her family’s female relatives.
The scene descended into chaos. Ye Duowei’s companion, unable to offer any real assistance, chose to call the police.
When officers arrived, Mrs. Wang and her accomplices were still mid-assault. Witnesses were present, evidence clear—they were taken in right away.
By the ti Wang i and Father Wang heard and rushed to the police station, the whole story had unfolded.
They learned that if the victim agreed to reconcile privately, the situation might not escalate.
But if Ye Duowei pursued the case seriously, the law would certainly favor her.
Thinking about the leverage she had over Ye Duowei, Wang i steadied her nerves and instructed Father Wang to find soone to help. She decided to confront Ye Duowei herself.
Ye Duowei smirked coldly at her, "Your mother attacked , and now you’re here to talk to ? Are you trying to beg ?"
Wang i snorted, "In your dreams!"
Ye Duowei seriously couldn’t gauge the situation. For Wang i to co so confidently, she must have sothing to rely on! How could she be so stupid?
Suddenly, Tian Yaru leapt towards Wang i, delivering two crisp slaps to her face. Her hands didn’t stop either, swinging wildly as she cursed, "You vile wretch! So it was your slutty mother who hit my daughter! Today, I don’t care—I’ll tear your disgusting slut face apart! This is for my Weiwei!"
Initially, Wang i was stunned from the beating, but she soon regained herself. She surely wouldn’t endure it silently. She imdiately started grappling with Tian Yaru while yelling insults back: "Screw your mother! How dare you hit ! Do you think your daughter is so innocent angel? She’s just another filthy slut!"
Yet, no matter how fierce Wang i could be, she was no match for a seasoned, battle-hardened Tian Yaru. Within monts, she was pinned to the ground and subjected to another barrage.
Tian Yaru had been holding in her anger, and Wang i showing up so arrogantly was the perfect outlet! They attacked her Weiwei, and yet dared to act so brazenly in their ho? Did they think she wouldn’t fight back?
"Look at you—so trashy, no one even wants to buy what you’re selling!" Tian Yaru cursed on and on. Although Ye Duowei felt the vulgarity was a bit much, listening to it was undeniably satisfying.
Furious, Wang i attempted to dodge left and right. Catching Tian Yaru off-guard, she managed to shove her to the floor, reversing their positions. Now, she was on top, beating Tian Yaru down.
Wang i slapped Tian Yaru repeatedly while glaring at Ye Duowei, saying, "Ye Duowei! Liu Chao asked to send you his regards. Was he ’enough’ for you? Oh, and he gave so very interesting photos! Do you want to see them?"
Watching her mother start to lose ground, Ye Duowei was already anxious. Hearing Wang i bring up that scumbag Liu Chao and his nasty remarks made her absolutely livid!
Spotting a stainless steel thermos on the bedside cabinet, she endured her pain, trying to get up and use it to bash that despicable woman.
Just then, the door was pushed open. Along with the nurses who rushed in after hearing the commotion, Yin Xian had shown up too.
Wang i was thrown off by his sudden appearance, montarily stunned. Seizing the chance, Tian Yaru shoved her away and struggled upright.
Seeing her forr son-in-law Yin Xian, Tian Yaru imdiately broke into sobs, slapping her thighs as she wailed, "Yin Xian! Finally, you’re here! If you hadn’t co, Weiwei and I would’ve been bullied to death! Look at this woman—she didn’t just have her mother gang up with others to beat up Weiwei. Now, she’s storming into the hospital room to assault Weiwei and ! Is there no justice left in this world?"
Tian Yaru’s mind was spinning. While she was wary of those photos Wang i ntioned, fearing they could harm Weiwei, she also noticed Wang i’s panic at the sight of Yin Xian. That gave her a hunch—he might be the key.
And she couldn’t believe Yin Xian had no lingering affection for Weiwei. Why else would he give money? Why else would he rush to the hospital upon hearing about her injury?
Yin Xian looked at Ye Duowei crying as nurses surrounded her on the hospital bed. His heart sank with pity. After investigating the situation, he knew Ye Duowei wasn’t entirely blaless, but ultimately, she’d been set up. If no one had leaked those videos, her actions wouldn’t have escalated beyond petty drama.
Turning his sharp, icy gaze to Wang i, he realized how deeply he’d misjudged her. Won like Wang i and Tian Yaru—both skilled in manipulation—could easily outplay each other. Thinking back to when Ye Duowei slapped Wang i, he now believed it must’ve been a deliberate act on Wang i’s part. Her cunning ran deep!
He shouted angrily, "Wang i! What are you trying to do here?"
Wang i noticed Yin Xian’s drastically different attitude towards her versus Ye Duowei, and rage bubbled within her. But she couldn’t let those two drama queens keep putting on a performance.
