Ye Duowei waited until her grandmother left before finally exhaling deeply. Yet, a heavy sense of disparity rose in her heart. If this had happened in the past, it wouldn’t even count as a matter worth ntioning, right? Wasn’t it just a vase? Twenty thousand yuan—it used to be the price of a new handbag for her.

Tian Yaruo saw her daughter deep in thought and really wanted to lecture her a bit, but when she noticed the redness and swelling on her face, she dropped the idea.

"Weiwei! You’ve seen it now, haven’t you? This is the power of money! If our Ye Family hadn’t fallen and was still the sa as before, would your aunt have dared to hit you? Even if you accidentally broke a vase, so what? Who would seriously make you pay for it? Even your grandfather wouldn’t have said ’no.’"

"But look at us now! What kind of life are we living? So listen to : if the road with Yin Xian really isn’t feasible, then we’ll look elsewhere. There are plenty of n with good conditions in our circle. Love is nothing compared to the reality of money!"

Ye Duowei’s tears stread down her cheeks as grief and humiliation mingled in her heart. She raised her head: "Mom, don’t worry, I understand all of this! But I just can’t swallow this! Why is it that those who used to be beneath are now living better than ?"

"Especially that Li Si. If it weren’t for her, how could I have ended up like this today? I hate her to death!"

Tian Yaru comforted her, her eyes flashing with resentnt and her expression heavy: "Honestly, Mom hates her too! There’s sothing I never told you. The reason our family went bankrupt has a lot to do with her husband. Your dad spilled it one ti when he got drunk!"

"What?" Ye Duowei’s head jerked up. "Why would that person do such a thing?" She couldn’t believe it—was it really him? The man who turned her from a pampered young lady into the person she was now?

"Why else? It must’ve been Li Si whispering pillow talk into his ear! That’s why this ti, since your aunt dared to hit you, I won’t let her or Li Si go unpunished!"

Tian Yaru’s gaze turned vicious as she stared out the window. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. She would never let them off the hook.

Ye Duowei looked at her mother’s twisted face, internally shaken. She felt a bit frightened and wanted to tell her just to take revenge on Li Si—her aunt had actually been quite kind to her.

But when she saw her mother’s stern gaze, she didn’t dare say a word.

On Ye Duowei’s birthday, Tian Yaruo didn’t attend in person, nor did Yan Xuefeng or Yan Kesong. Not only that, they didn’t even send a gift or make a call to wish her happy birthday.

Three days later, Tian Yaruo finally called, cutting straight to the chase: Repay the money! No excuses!

This enraged Tian Yaru, her eyes turning red and her face pale. She imdiately started cursing over the phone, declaring she wouldn’t repay the debt—she wouldn’t do it even if she had the money. If Yaruo kept pushing, she’d personally talk to Old Yan about Li Si’s true parentage.

To her surprise, Tian Yaruo simply paused, then coldly responded that she could say whatever she wanted; she didn’t care.

Tian Yaru was livid. Her bad temper couldn’t handle this, and she stord straight over to the Yan Family.

She wanted to see what kind of tricks Tian Yaruo could pull to explain Li Si’s parentage.

When Tian Yaru followed the servant into the living room, she noticed it was rare for Yan Xuefeng to be ho, though his expression wasn’t good. Across from him sat Tian Yaruo, and the two were engaged in heated discussion.

When they noticed Tian Yaru, neither of them stood up or said anything. Old Yan rely nodded at her, while Tian Yaruo coldly glanced her way and asked indifferently, "What brings you here?"

Tian Yaru boldly threw her bag onto the couch. "Of course, it’s about sothing! Aren’t you asking for money? What’s the matter? Is your Old Yan so strapped for cash that he can’t afford to lend us that bit of money for turnover? Or does that an the Yan Family might face bankruptcy without it?"

Yan Xuefeng shot her an unhappy look. "Repaying debts is a basic principle of human decency. Don’t tell you don’t understand that?"

For once, Tian Yaru was speechless. In all these years, Old Yan had never spoken such cutting words to her.

Her earlier bravado was imdiately deflated, like a popped balloon, and her tone softened noticeably.

"Even if—even if we do owe you money, shouldn’t you give us so ti? My husband recently started a very lucrative project, and the initial investnt is already in place. It’ll take ti to recover the returns, right?"

Tian Yaruo remained silent, saying nothing at all. Ever since Tian Yaru had threatened to reveal Li Si’s parentage, her heart toward her elder sister had completely gone cold.

Sisterhood? What sisterhood, when her sibling was prepared to grab her by the throat and blackmail her at any mont?

She had been naive, a fool, a saint. But at least she’d woken up now—better late than after she’d lost everything.

"Talk won’t achieve anything. If you can’t repay the debt in cash, then bring collateral instead!"

Yan Xuefeng glanced at Tian Yaruo after speaking. When it ca to the matter of collecting debts, he had no personal engagent—this money wasn’t coming out of his pocket.

But earlier, Tian Yaruo had said she agreed to divorce him, provided he personally ensured the debt was recovered.

In truth, he regretted it deeply. He truly did. Last night, after a heated argunt fueled by alcohol—and after recalling that she’d concealed having had a child—he had lashed out in anger, blurting out divorce without intending it.

He hadn’t thought she’d react this way—it wasn’t tears, begging, or attempts to save the marriage. Instead, she quietly drafted a divorce agreent on the spot for him to sign.

Kesong was staying with him, and she only wanted the portion of the assets that rightfully belonged to her.

The other request was for him to recover the 3 million yuan debt.

He knew that if she personally took charge of collecting it, she wouldn’t succeed. The Tian Family parents would co out one by one, and coupled with Tian Yaru’s tantrums, she’d probably give up in the end.

Tian Yaru stared at Yan Xuefeng in astonishnt and tried to get on his good side: "Brother-in-law! Co on, what are you doing? We’re family, aren’t we? Why make things so tense?"

She quickly shot Yaruo a look, signaling her to join in persuading him. But Tian Yaruo continued to bow her head, remaining completely silent.

Yan Xuefeng was forced to co off as the villain again. "Business and personal relationships are separate! We’re only discussing finances now. If you find yourselves unable to repay the debt, I’ll go over to your husband to collect it myself!"

Tian Yaru wished she could scream curses at the pair—they were beyond hateful! Were they putting on an act as a team?

Fine, if you two are this united, then I’ll make sure you both end up in chaos. No one will have a peaceful ti!

"Go ahead and collect, but there’s sothing I feel bad about keeping from you, so I may as well reveal it now!"

Yan Xuefeng frowned tightly and looked her way. Tian Yaruo also raised her head, her eyes glinting with an unreadable light.

Tian Yaru glanced at Tian Yaruo provocatively—beg ! Plead with , and I won’t say it!

"What is it?"

Tian Yaru hesitated briefly, unsure of the consequences her words might bring or whether they would create trouble for her own household. But when she saw Tian Yaruo’s calm and detached deanor, she grew angrier, and the words spilled out uncontrollably: "Li Si is my sister’s biological daughter!"

Yan Xuefeng stared at Tian Yaruo in shock. He wasn’t surprised by the revelation—he had known this long ago. But what stunned him was that her own sister would recklessly reveal it out of spite. In this mont, he finally understood why Tian Yaruo was adamant about recovering the debt.

Family, too, can sotis be the sharpest knife.

He turned to Tian Yaru with a chilling gaze: "I already know. Leave my house imdiately! Find the money! If you can’t gather it by noon tomorrow, your husband will learn my thods. Whether his business continues will be up to you!"

Tian Yaru’s legs nearly gave out, and she almost collapsed onto the floor. How could he react like this?

Wasn’t he supposed to explode at Tian Yaruo on the spot, scrapping the debt issue altogether because of family drama?

But instead, everything deviated from her expectations. Tian Yaruo didn’t say a word—was she truly resentful of her now?
