Leng Ning didn’t believe it and pressed further, "Which friend?"
"Why do you need to know so much? You don’t know them! Just eat!" Mrs. Leng snapped impatiently, glaring at her. Why was she digging into it so relentlessly? While her tone was firm, deep down, she felt uneasy.
Then, in a much gentler voice, she said to John, "John, this is your aunt." Her ability to change her deanor so quickly was remarkable.
"Aunt!" John looked at Leng Ning cautiously, seeming a little scared.
Not understanding why Qian Rouxuan’s child was suddenly in her house, and even calling her "Aunt," Leng Ning completely lost her temper. "Mom, what on earth are you doing? I’ve seen this kid before—he’s the child of that bitch Qian Rouxuan! How could you bring him to our ho? What if my sister-in-law finds out? What will she think?"
Leng Ning shouted at Mrs. Leng in dissatisfaction. What has the world co to? How could things change so drastically in an instant? Him? The child of that bitch? And now he’s supposed to call her "Aunt"? What a joke. A colossal joke!
Seeing John recoil in fear, Mrs. Leng shot a displeased glance at Leng Ning. "Keep your voice down, you’re scaring the child! Let her think whatever she wants. She hasn’t even stepped foot into our Leng Family yet; why should everything revolve around her?
I just found this child endearing and brought him ho for a few days. What’s wrong with that?"
Mrs. Leng was also about ready to explode with anger. No one else had started making a scene, and yet this little troublemaker was the first to lose her temper. Truly siding with outsiders—wasn’t she leaning towards that Li Si girl now?
"A few days? You’re not even remotely related to them. What gives you the right to let him stay here?" Leng Ning couldn’t understand her mother’s behavior. The woman who once despised Qian Rouxuan now suddenly welcod her child into their ho. Had she gone crazy?
Mrs. Leng pouted in displeasure and simply laid it all bare. "Who said we’re not related? This is your brother and Rouxuan’s child. They’ve already done a DNA test, and there’s absolutely no mistake!"
Leng Ning felt the urge to start swearing imdiately. "What? My brother’s child? Was that DNA test done with my brother present?" She refused to believe her brother could be so foolish. Even if it were true, how could they just bring the child ho? Wasn’t that essentially acknowledging him publically?
Mrs. Leng’s expression turned unnatural. She had to admit, she had overstepped, but if she hadn’t done so, her son wouldn’t have agreed to get the test done anyway!
"Whether your brother was there or not doesn’t matter! The most important thing is that the test results prove this child is my grandson! As his aunt, you’d better start acting like one. Sit down and stop making such a scene!"
Leng Ning saw right through Mrs. Leng’s bluff and was furious. "Aunt?! I don’t need him calling ’Aunt.’ I’m afraid I can’t handle that title! Qian Rouxuan disappeared for so many years, who knows whose bastard this is? And yet you treat him like so precious gem!
I don’t even know what kind of spell that bitch cast on you to make you defend her like this. Mom, you used to call her a bitch with ! Have you forgotten that?"
Mrs. Leng’s face turned sour, feeling a bit humiliated. "What nonsense are you spouting? When did I ever say such a thing? You’re just a young girl; you think you can say whatever cos to mind?
Let tell you, eat if you want to eat, and if you don’t, no one’s begging you to! Besides, how can you say such horrible things about the child’s mother in front of him? What would the child think of you?"
Leng Ning stood up, grabbed her bag from the sofa, and marched toward the door. "Let them think whatever they want. If they have the nerve to do it, they should have the nerve to listen! A bitch is a bitch, and the kid she gave birth to won’t amount to much either!"
This provoked Mrs. Leng into shouting after her. "You ungrateful child! Stop right there! Do you even know whose family you belong to? Where are you going at this hour?"
Leng Ning turned back coldly, staring at Mrs. Leng. "I’m going back to school! So I don’t have to look at this ss and feel sick!"
"Then why did you even co back here?!" Mrs. Leng shouted, her chest heaving with anger. This child had co back just to piss her off.
Leng Ning sneered. "Does it still matter why I ca? Did you even ask about when I walked through the door? My birthday is the day after tomorrow, and I was planning to throw a birthday party so I could introduce my boyfriend to all of you. But is there even a point now?
Do you even care about as your daughter anymore? Do you even rember my birthday? Just take good care of your precious grandson!" With that, she stord out without looking back.
Mrs. Leng was left feeling ashad and unable to utter a word. Recently, she had actually been planning to prepare sothing nice for her daughter’s upcoming birthday. But she’d been so preoccupied arranging John’s room, buying furniture and toys, that she really had forgotten all about it!
