Leng Ning smiled and greeted, "Big brother, what would you like to drink?"
Leng Mohao pulled Liu Jiaqi to sit on another set of sofas, subconsciously glanced upstairs, and asked, "Tea, please! Is Mochen with Grandpa in the study?"
"Yes, they’ve been up there for a while! Big brother, your girlfriend is so beautiful! She looks so young!" Leng Ning curiously glanced between the two of them, her eyes filled with curiosity.
Leng Mohao seemingly gazed at Liu Jiaqi beside him with deep affection, then smiled and said, "Jiaqi is about your age! You all can spend ti together when free." He paused and then added, "You chat for a while; I’ll head upstairs to see Grandpa!"
After Leng Mohao left, Leng Ning called Nanny Wang to bring tea. Li Si curiously glanced upstairs. He had been up there for a while; how co no sound was heard?
Liu Jiaqi discreetly assessed Li Si, secretly curling her lips. What’s so special about her anyway? She casually asked, "I heard from Mohao that after your engagent, you went to Bali. Was it fun there?"
"Quite fun, and the scenery was nice." Li Si sensed a hint of disdain in her eyes, so her brows slightly furrowed, responding with a statent that could barely pass as an answer.
From the side, Leng Ning asked, "How old are you?" Sohow, she was slightly repelled by that haughty tone Jiaqi had earlier. Wasn’t she behaving differently when Big Brother was here?
Liu Jiaqi, simultaneously observing the other two girls, lightly chuckled and said, "I’m 24! I work at my father’s company now. You two are still in school, right?"
"We are!"
The atmosphere turned a bit awkward, as no one seed to find any suitable topic of conversation. Everyone was lost in their own thoughts.
Until Leng Mochen ca downstairs, he only gave the unfamiliar Liu Jiaqi a polite nod and, with a composed expression, said to Li Si, "Let’s go."
"Alright! Xiao Ning, I’ll call you! Miss Liu, goodbye!"
Leng Ning bead and gestured with a playful "hurry and leave" motion.
Liu Jiaqi waved with a smile, saying goodbye as a trace of sothing inscrutable flickered in her eyes.
Just then, Mrs. Leng erged from the kitchen. Seeing the two about to leave, she quickly expressed her concern, "Mochen, won’t you and Sisi stay for dinner before going?"
"We won’t eat, there’s still work at the company. We’ll co back when we have ti."
"Alright then. I understand you’re both busy since you’ve just returned to the country, so I won’t insist. Sisi, make sure to drop by and treat this as your own ho!"
"Alright, Mom, we’ll be on our way then! We’ll co back when we have ti!" Li Si, going along smoothly, picked up her purse and left with Leng Mochen.
Once they were gone, Mrs. Leng turned to Liu Jiaqi and politely asked, "And this young lady is?"
"Mom, this is Big Brother’s girlfriend!" Leng Ning made the introduction.
"Hello! I’m Liu Jiaqi! My father is Liu Yisi!" Her father’s na carried weight, and she believed that hearing it would surely make the other party regard her differently.
"Is that so? A pleasure to et you! Well then, you and Xiao Ning can have a chat. I’ll head upstairs first." Mrs. Leng responded with a polite yet distant remark before heading upstairs. Liu Yisi’s daughter? No wonder she carries herself so arrogantly. A faint dislike rose in her heart.
In the car, Li Si held onto her seatbelt and asked curiously, "Chen, what’s wrong?" Although his expression hadn’t shown a noticeable change and remained calm as usual, her intuition told her sothing was amiss.
Leng Mochen’s lips pressed slightly together. During a red light, he turned and said to her, "Leng Mohao might have overheard our conversation just now."
"How could he do that?" Li Si was utterly incredulous. Outwardly, he seed so modest and polite, but in reality, he was engaging in such despicable behavior.
"Sweetheart, there are so things I haven’t told you. You need to be careful around him in the future; he might pose a threat to us." Leng Mochen’s tone was deep, and a chilling glint flashed in his eyes.
What Mr. Leng Sr. discussed with him earlier was the usual repetitive topics, still hoping he would return to Leng Group as its Chief Executive Officer.
After he politely declined, Mr. Leng Sr. seed sowhat displeased and subtly implied that even though Mo Si was doing well, Leng Group shouldn’t be neglected, because the eventual heir would undoubtedly be him, Leng Mochen. As for Leng Mohao, he was rely working for him.
"Could your injury back then have had sothing to do with him?" Li Si suddenly let her imagination run wild, arriving at this possibility. After all, her first impression of Leng Mohao was that he seed like a conniving and sinister person.
Leng Mochen dotingly tapped her upturned nose. "What did you eat today to make your intelligence shoot up?" He shared her suspicions, but there was no concrete evidence to support it.
"What’s so strange? How many people in wealthy families have pure intentions? Besides, aren’t novels and dramas always portraying this kind of thing? And aren’t those all rooted in reality?" Li Si answered proudly, her radiant features glowing under the sunlight, exuding a sheer sense of vitality.
