Leng Mochen slowly approached her and planted a kiss on her cheek, "Alright! You’re smart enough to cooperate! How about opening a beauty salon?"

Li Si’s eyes lit up as she nodded enthusiastically. This idea wasn’t bad at all! She recalled the set of SPA treatnts she had undergone with her so-called godmother not long ago. It had been quite enjoyable afterward, and she thought diving into this industry might actually be pretty good!

"Not bad! Alright, considering you ca up with this idea, I’ll let your prank earlier slide. Now hurry up and leave, I need to get ready!"

She pushed him out with all her might, and the two of them playfully tugged at each other for a while. Only after enduring her glares did Leng Mochen finally exit her room.

Staring at the tightly closed door, he rubbed his nose and headed to the kitchen. He needed to prepare a love-filled breakfast for his sweetheart.

Li Si quickly took a lightning-fast shower, dressed up, and walked to the dining room. Leng Mochen was already seated at the table, looking refreshed in a white casual outfit.

On the dining table were the lovingly prepared sunny-side-up eggs and fruit salad he had just made.

Li Si took a bite, and the taste—delicious! Swallowing the food in her mouth, she said, "Mochen, I rembered sothing! That woman I helped the other day, she actually knows how to do beauty treatnts. Why not ask her to help ?"

She felt that person was pretty decent. If she turned out to be competent, there’d be no worry about promoting her later on, right?

Leng Mochen nodded. That woman’s na was Xia Yu. After secretly investigating her, he found her character to be reliable, though her background was sowhat peculiar—there was no information prior to her sudden appearance, almost as if she had erged out of thin air.

But everyone has secrets they want to keep hidden. He didn’t delve deeper, especially since she was rely an employee. If it weren’t for Li Si bringing her up, he wouldn’t have paid her much attention.

"Her na’s Xia Yu. Why not have Jiang Feng take her along to handle the recruitnt?" Leng Mochen set down the newspaper in his hand. "You don’t need to worry about the rest; just rest up properly."

"What the heck? Aren’t I just becoming a hands-off shopkeeper again?" She pouted playfully, though she was pleased inside, knowing he was worried she’d tire herself out.

"How did yesterday’s banquet go?" Leng Mochen suddenly changed the topic casually.

Li Si hesitated before selectively learning and relaying the main points Yin Qi had ntioned. Finally, she asked curiously, "Is the Ye Family truly in such a bad state?"

Leng Mochen nodded. If it weren’t for concerns about widespread impact, he would have taken even harsher asures against them.

Li Si clicked her tongue. The business world truly was like a battlefield—a war without smoke.

But then she thought of the current alliance between the Ye Family and the Yin Family, and asked, "Mochen, with the Ye and Yin Families joining forces, will it be disadvantageous for you guys?"

"No need to worry. I borrowed the na of an overseas company from Long Wu. They have no way of tracing it! Even if they do, what can they do? You better focus on preparing gifts for the people about to return ho instead!"

"That’s true! What should I give as a gift? They’re artists, but what should I send? So frustrating!" She felt her mind turn to mush at the thought of Leng Mochen’s father.

On New Year’s Day of 2006, Li Si was invited to the Leng Family ho—Leng Mochen’s house. It turned out that the previous visit had been to his grandfather’s house. The various families all lived in this estate of villas, though separated by so distance.

She t Leng Mochen’s father, Leng Qiankai, who had just returned from abroad. As a renowned painter, his short hair, deep-set eyes, and unique charm exuded cleanliness and ease.

Leng Qiankai seed very satisfied with her. After dinner, he gave her one of his own paintings—a blooming sunflower—as a farewell gift. Li Si was ecstatic; after returning ho, she carefully hung the painting on the wall in her study.

Leng Mochen saw her admiringly gazing at the sunflower painting, her face brimming with joy. He hugged her from behind and asked softly in her ear, "You’re this happy?"

He hadn’t expected that she would be so easily satisfied. Just getting recognized by his father had brought her such joy.

Li Si mischievously pinched his big hand and said with a sigh of relief, "So happy! Really! You have no idea how nervous I’ve been these past few days, worrying that your dad wouldn’t like ! I didn’t expect him to be so easy-going!"

In her mind, most artists seed eccentric or unconventional. She hadn’t expected Mochen’s father to not only possess a heavy literary air but also be so approachable.

"So now you’ve set your heart at ease?"

"I’ve always been fine, okay!" She stubbornly refused to admit her initial anxiety.

"Close your eyes!" Leng Mochen suddenly said.

Li Si turned to him curiously, "What are you doing?"

"It’s a secret! Just close your eyes first!" He gently stroked her eyelids.

Li Si instinctively closed her eyes, mumbling, "What kind of mystery are you up to now?" Though inwardly, she felt a twinge of anticipation.

"Don’t open them! Follow !" He held her hand and led her forward slowly.

She felt the darkness before her eyes and wondered when he had turned off the lights.

As they walked, a faint light began to appear in front of her, and suddenly, her nose was filled with the rich fragrance of flowers.

"Open your eyes!" As his words fell, she opened her eyes and found herself in his room.

She was greeted by his warm smile and the sight of candles glowing behind him, arranged in large concentric heart shapes. Above them were candles forming an "I U" design. The floor was covered with countless rose petals, explaining the overwhelming floral scent in the air.

"Oh my gosh! It’s so beautiful!" She exclaid in surprise. They’d known each other for quite so ti, and she’d never received flowers from him before. Thinking he wasn’t a romantic person, she hadn’t minded too much.

But today? What was going on here? Under the candlelight, he suddenly dropped to one knee and said passionately, "Marry !"

She couldn’t find words to describe the shock and joy she felt at that mont. Her heart surged with emotion, leaving her covering her mouth, unable to speak as her eyes welled with tears.

She truly hadn’t expected the kind of scene she’d only seen in novels and TV dramas to play out before her eyes. When he knelt before her and uttered those words, her heart felt like boiling water, overflowing with bubbles of happiness.

"Are you so stunned you can’t respond?" He waited for a while but received no nod or "Yes" from her. In the candlelight, her petite face turned a rosy pink, her eyes sparkling with tiny stars.

She sniffled, holding back her tears, and said earnestly, "I may look okay, but I’m full of flaws. I don’t co from a well-off family. My personality isn’t great, and I might not be of much help on your life journey—in fact, I might even bring trouble for you to clean up. Even so, would you still want to marry ?"

After listening to her, he stood up with a smile filled with affection. "If that’s what you think, there’s absolutely no need to worry! What I love is you as a person—your strengths and your flaws. I want all of it! Sweetheart, are you ready now to marry ?"

"I’m willing!" She cried tears of joy and threw herself into his arms. Honestly, ever since Christmas when he bought the couple’s rings, she had been eagerly looking forward to this day. She just hadn’t expected it to co so soon, so much so that it seed almost unreal.

He held the girl in his arms tightly, feeling a sense of relief. If she had refused, he would have had to resort to using Long Wu’s secret techniques. Thankfully, his thoughtful preparations hadn’t gone to waste.

Suddenly, she seed to rember sothing and playfully smacked his shoulder. "I only agreed to your proposal—I didn’t say I would marry you so soon!" Her initial idea had been to wait until after graduating from university to get married.

"Then how about getting engaged first? I’ve already picked the date—it’ll be on Valentine’s Day. It’s aningful and unique!" He had everything planned out beforehand. He wanted to give her a grand wedding, so he needed ti for preparations.

"Valentine’s Day? That’s just over a month away!" She muttered softly. A New Year’s proposal and a Valentine’s Day engagent—it seed pretty good after all! (To be continued.
