Cheng Lu turned around, her expression icy cold, and said in a chilling voice, “If you dare to do it, are you afraid of being reported?”

After saying this, she took two steps forward, then turned around again and said, “I won’t stoop to your level, but you’d better think about how you’re going to play this afternoon!”

Yang Baishan couldn’t stand this and was about to curse when Dong Jun quickly held him back.

Dong Jun was utterly speechless at him: “Stop talking. How could the one who reported us be Cheng Lu?”

Yang Baishan imdiately retorted, “Then how co it was such a coincidence that she was right there? And didn’t you hear what she said when she left? She’s definitely taking revenge because I cursed her last ti!”

“Cheng Lu has nothing to do with us. How would she even know we recruited outside help? Besides, she’s not the petty type. If she wanted revenge, she’d have done it long ago. Why wait two months? You’re out of your mind. And what nonsense were you spouting in front of Secretary Li?”

Yang Baishan was left speechless by Dong Jun’s scolding.

Xu Xiuwen was stunned for a mont, but now he ca to his senses and explained, “This has nothing to do with Cheng Lu.”

His tone was very certain.

Dong Jun and Yang Baishan imdiately looked at him with puzzled expressions.

Xu Xiuwen then recounted what Secretary Li had said in the office earlier.

Upon hearing that it was soone from the Computer Science Departnt who reported them in the morning, Yang Baishan beca furious.

“Those computer science guys are always playing dirty tricks behind our backs. They’re a bunch of idiots.”

Dong Jun, less agitated, questioned, “Wait, how did the Computer Science Departnt know we had recruited outside help?”

Dong Jun and Yang Baishan exchanged a glance and quickly thought of a possibility.

“Damn it!” They cursed in unison.

It must have been those girls from Zhu Ping’s group who told the Computer Science Departnt.

Thinking that the girls in their class had leaked their secret, even Dong Jun couldn’t help but curse, “A bunch of brainless won, really a nuisance!”

Yang Baishan was puzzled, “But how did they even know about the outside help?”

“They probably figured it out, or maybe one of the boys let it slip?” Dong Jun speculated.

“Never mind how they found out. What do we do about the match this afternoon? If we can’t let the outsiders play, do we swap players or forfeit?”

Yang Baishan shouted imdiately at the word ‘forfeit,’ “I’d rather die than admit defeat to those scheming computer science guys!”

Dong Jun agreed, “Forfeiting is out of the question. We’ve made it to the finals; it would be a sha to give up now.”

Xu Xiuwen had anticipated their response and sighed, “If we exclude the four Chengdu natives Yang Baishan brought in, we’ll just have eleven players left. Should we find a few more substitutes?”

Dong Jun sighed as well, “That’s all we can do.”

He turned to Yang Baishan, “The afternoon match depends on you. I don’t expect a win anymore, but at least score one goal, or it will be really embarrassing.”

Yang Baishan, knowing this match would be tough, didn’t dare to boast as before.

He thought for a mont and said, “Class Monitor, don’t worry. I’ll give it everything I’ve got this afternoon and make sure to score a goal.”

After saying this, Yang Baishan, realizing he had misunderstood Cheng Lu, felt a bit guilty.

Quick-tempered but quick to calm down, he asked sheepishly, “Should I apologize to Cheng Lu?”

Dong Jun imdiately scolded, “Apologize for what! You jumped to conclusions and blad her for reporting us. Do you think she’ll forgive you if you go to her now?”

Yang Baishan thought about it and agreed, hanging his head in dejection.

The three of them returned from Jiaotong University to Jiangling College and headed straight to their dorm.

Back in their dorm, Dong Jun first returned to his room and called all the male students from the Managent and Engineering Departnt to room 412.

When Xu Xiuwen and Yang Baishan returned to their room, their four roommates were sitting in their chairs, faces full of worry.

Seeing the door open and Xu Xiuwen and Yang Baishan return, the four of them quickly stood up.

Jin Haonan ca forward and asked, “How did it go? What did Secretary Li say?”

Without saying a word, Xu Xiuwen let Yang Baishan recount the events to their roommates.

As soon as he finished, the guys from Dong Jun’s dorm and the other three majors arrived.

After so discussion, they decided that the original substitutes would beco the main players, and they would find four more substitutes, making a total of fifteen players for the afternoon match.

Dong Jun said, “The Computer Science Departnt is very strong and the top favorite to win this year. We’ve just lost four players from the school team, so our strength is greatly reduced. We probably won’t be able to beat them.”

Yang Baishan gritted his teeth, “We’ll fight hard this afternoon. At worst, we’ll give it everything we’ve got.”

The others echoed, “Yes, we’ll fight hard!”

Jin Haonan, remaining calm, said, “Less than half of us can actually play soccer. Many have never even dribbled a ball or made a pass. We still have so ti before the match; let’s go to the field and practice a bit, at least get familiar with it.”

Yang Baishan agreed, “Brother Hao is right. Those who haven’t played before, hurry up and practice passing.”

No one objected.

Soon, all the boys from the Managent and Engineering Departnt went to Jiangling’s soccer field.

The new additions and the original substitutes all practiced passing furiously.

Yang Baishan even taught them how to slide tackle, saying, “When the ball is at their feet this afternoon, if you see them crossing midfield, just go all out and slide tackle. The actual play and attack will depend on , Xiuwen, Brother Hao, Brother Wang, Old Liu, and Brother Shi.”

The others nodded to show they understood.

Xu Xiuwen and the others also changed positions. Xu Xiuwen played attacking midfielder because he was good at passing and had a clear view of the field.

Jin Haonan and Liu Zhihao took up the positions of left and right forwards, replacing Yang Baishan’s Chengdu friends.

Wang Juncai and Shi Xiangming beca the left and right midfielders.

They arranged all their skilled players up front, planning to concentrate their efforts to score at least one goal.

Ti flew by.

In the blink of an eye, it was the afternoon.

Xu Xiuwen and his team arrived at Jiaotong University’s soccer field ten minutes before the match started.

The weather was great, with a clear blue sky and bright sunshine.

At 3 PM.

Even though Jiaotong’s own team had been eliminated, the final match of the school soccer tournant still drew a full crowd to the stands.

Xu Xiuwen, with his good eyesight, spotted more than ten girls from the Software Information Major in the stands.

Annoyingly, they were all sitting with the Computer Science Departnt students, clearly there to cheer for them.

Of course, since the Managent and Engineering Departnt had made it to the finals, many girls from their class had co to cheer them on as well.

The four girls from room 601 were naturally all present.
