Chapter 665: Chapter 648 Dual Exchange Rate System

The costics company needs to expand, so Ye Zhen is going to the Mainland to select a factory site, leaving her temporarily in charge of the company’s matters. Additionally, there are issues with several subsidiaries she needs to handle, keeping her extrely busy.

Soon, it was November.

That day, as usual, Lu Jiaxin did half an hour of yoga after work before going ho. When she went downstairs and saw that Nie Zhan had not yet returned, she called him and asked, “About to be ho, right? Okay, I’ll wait for you to have dinner together.”

Generally speaking, if Nie Zhan wasn’t coming ho for dinner, he would call her in advance. But sotis he would forget in unexpected situations, which had happened once before.

Ten minutes later, Nie Zhan arrived ho.

Noticing his serious expression, Lu Jiaxin asked, “Why do you look so troubled? Did sothing happen at the company?”

Nie Zhan didn’t speak, rely holding her hand and saying, “Co upstairs with , I have sothing to tell you.”

Lu Jiaxin was puzzled since the group’s subsidiaries hadn’t had any issues lately! Yet she didn’t expect to hear from Nie Zhan upstairs that the SL had implented a dual exchange rate system.

Nie Zhan explained, “Originally, just like the Hong Kong Dollars, they had a fixed exchange rate with the greenbacks. But with SL’s situation, implenting a dual exchange rate system poses significant risks.”

Lu Jiaxin was aware that there were many problems in SL even before its disintegration, followed by a series of leadership decision errors. She wasn’t sure how exactly the operations were carried out, except that after SL’s disintegration, the Rupee depreciated sharply.

Nie Zhan was inherently a trader; he had been trading financial products over the years, but he always used surplus money, unlike Lu Jiaxin, who once invested her entire fortune.

Seeing Lu Jiaxin remain silent, Nie Zhan elaborated, “This policy gives speculators an opportunity to crazily speculate on greenbacks and Euros, and then lure the public to exchange their Rubles at extrely high rates for greenbacks and Euros.”

On the surface, it’s financial liberalization, but in essence, it significantly changes the status of the greenbacks. In such a vast country, they surprisingly overlook these huge potential dangers.

Lu Jiaxin pondered and then asked, “What do you an by that?”

Nie Zhan said, “After the complete opening up of SL’s economic market, many investnt banks and comrcial banks will enter SL, and various operating institutions will rapidly capture the market there. They will then use certain strategies to convert state-owned assets into private assets, which is also a way of encroaching on state-owned assets.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Jiaxin couldn’t help but recall the early reforms and opening up period, where many state-owned assets were converted into private ownership. Ah, all crows under the sun are black.

Nie Zhan continued, “Previously, you said SL would disintegrate within three to five years, and I thought that was impossible. But with this trend, it just might happen.”

“My intuition has never been wrong.”

Nie Zhan smiled in agreent and then said, “Jiaxin, I’m planning to buy into Wansheng Bank.”

Upon hearing this, Lu Jiaxin imdiately understood, “You want to beco a shareholder of Wansheng Bank, and then open a branch in SL to get a share of the pie.”

Seeing him nod, Lu Jiaxin frowned and asked, “Will your brother agree?”

Nie Zhan paused for a mont and said, “There are many issues within Wansheng Bank; it could potentially go bankrupt if they surface. If I beco a shareholder, I would reorganize it and inject substantial funds into the SL market, which should fill most of the deficits.”

Lu Jiaxin didn’t want him to end up cleaning up this ss, but it was hard to voice it considering their close relationship. After thinking it over, she suggested, “We can leverage Wansheng Bank’s na to open a branch in SL, but we retain 100% control.”

This is a very common investnt thod. It’s called a branch, but it operates independently and bears its own profits and losses. It’s just leveraging the parent company’s na for convenience and to avoid so troubles.

Nie Zhan hadn’t considered this thod.

Lu Jiaxin didn’t want him always cleaning up after the Nie family, having done so much work without any recognition: “Ah Zhan, given the severe issues within Wansheng Bank, solving all these hidden dangers would require enormous financial resources.”

“Even if you beco a shareholder, your stake ratio can’t exceed Nie Jingwen’s. When the investnt is realized, the benefits we get won’t be significant. In business, taking huge risks without receiving proportionate returns is not acceptable, unless you’re willing to count it as a goodwill gesture toward your brother, but I’m not willing.”

If Nie Zhan decided to buy into Wansheng Bank, she wouldn’t stop him, but she wouldn’t invest a cent.

Seeing Nie Zhan deep in thought, Lu Jiaxin continued, “Moreover, your brother lacks decisiveness. Opening a branch in SL is a very risky investnt and he won’t agree. If we open a branch in SL by ourselves, if our prediction is wrong, it’s our own loss, so we won’t have to answer to your brother and shareholders. If our prediction is right, we won’t have to share most of the profits either.”

Nie Zhan was silent for a mont and then said, “Then let’s do as you said, we’ll use Wansheng Bank’s na to open a branch in SL, and I’ll discuss it with my brother tomorrow.”

Lu Jiaxin thought it wasn’t urgent to deal with Nie Jingwen: “Convince Mokrich to invest in our bank too, wouldn’t that give us so backing!”

Nie Zhan nodded and replied, “I’ll expedite the bank’s matters. Once the timing is right, we’ll set up the SL branch. In the anti, we can speculate on the Ruble.”

Lu Jiaxin considered for a mont and said, “I can raise five hundred million greenbacks within three days, which includes the eighty million dowry you gave.”

Nie Zhan didn’t have that much cash flow on hand currently, only sixty million greenbacks. Actually, whether a company or an individual, they won’t leave too much cash flow. Goods must be in constant rotation, only then will money make money. But Lu Jiaxin was an exception; she owned many stocks, and if she sold them, she could quickly raise a large sum of cash.

Nie Zhan nodded, indicating it was enough.

After discussing this matter, the two went downstairs to eat. While they were out for a walk, Nie Zhan brought up Tao Yong and Yu itong again: “I called and asked him, he admitted he’s pursuing Miss Yu.”

Lu Jiaxin noticed he was becoming gossipier: “What about Sister itong? Has her attitude softened, or is she still reluctant to interact with him? If Sister itong disagrees, he mustn’t pester her relentlessly.”

Nie Zhan, smiling, said, “Miss Yu had dinner with him yesterday. They also planned to go hiking together on Sunday. It seems like it won’t be long before they confirm their relationship.”

Lu Jiaxin pondered for a mont and asked: “Is Tao Yong pursuing Sister itong because he really likes her, or does he have other motives?”

Nie Zhan laughed, saying, “He said that after saving Yu itong that day, watching her drunk reminded him of his forr self. After returning, he frequently recalled the scene that night and realized he had feelings for her, so he asked Yu itong out. Jiaxin, Tao Yong takes relationships very seriously; now that he’s interested in Yu itong, it must be because he likes her, not for any other motives.”

“Miss Yu’s assets are two to three million, while Tao Yong is now a billionaire, with more assets than her. As for resources, the Yu family has emigrated, and there’s nothing left worth plotting for.”

Lu Jiaxin responded, “Let’s not talk about this matter anymore. If they indeed get together, I hope to hear it from Sister itong.”

Nie Zhan nodded, smiling, “Tao Yong’s family is pushing for marriage. If they do get together, they’re likely to get married before us.”

“That would be nice.”
