Chapter 62: Chapter 58 Recruitnt
The night grew deep, the moon shrank into the clouds, and the stars also concealed themselves. Everyone had entered their dreamlands, and the entire county was exceptionally quiet.
Elder Lady Hu tossed and turned on the cot, unable to sleep, as she thought about the words she had spoken during the day, which should have been flawless. However, the Public Security Bureau officers had fierce eyes that seed to doubt her words, leaving her feeling uneasy.
Recalling what her son had said, Elder Lady Hu whispered to herself in a voice only she could hear, “I parted ways with that dead girl as soon as we left the train station. I don’t know nor understand what happened to her.”
Repeatedly muttering, after many tis her restless anxiety gradually cald down. Junjun was right, the dead girl’s affairs had nothing to do with her, she was being slandered.
Just then, the door was gently pushed open and a figure silently walked in.
Elder Lady Hu originally faced inward while sleeping but felt a slight chill and turned over, then noticed a figure slowly approaching her.

Just as she was about to challenge the intruder, the light in the room suddenly turned on, and she saw Lu Jiaxin standing in front of her bed, dressed in white with her face covered in blood.
“A ghost…”
After shrieking, Elder Lady Hu rolled her eyes and fainted.
Lu Jiaxin pinched the philtrum to revive her, and once she ca to, she spoke in a sinister voice, “Second Sister Hu, I have no grudges against you, why would you harm , why would you harm …”
She deliberately elongated the tone of the last word.
Standing outside the door, Captain Sun got goosebumps from hearing her sinister voice. He had gotten quite the fright when he had seen Lu Jiaxin leaving her room looking like this earlier. It was then that he understood why the girl had brought a suitcase; it must have contained costics. Thinking of what his superior had said, he couldn’t help but admire that the girl was truly talented!
Since the room was pitch-dark, Elder Lady Hu could only see a blurry shadow. She was so terrified that she kept scooting back into the bed, pressing against the wall as if she wanted to burrow into it: “I never thought of harming you, I really never thought of harming you…”
Lu Jiaxin continued to raise her voice, “Second Sister Hu, who did you want to sell to? Who did you want to sell to…”
She suddenly raised the pitch of the last word, which had an even more intimidating effect in this bleak and dim place. Captain Sun shivered; the girl was quite skilled at playing ghostly tricks. If only she could study at the Public Security Academy, they would have an extraordinary talent.
Elder Lady Hu was so scared that she lost her reason and stamred, “I, I didn’t intend to sell you. I just wanted you to marry my maternal nephew.”

Lu Jiaxin felt like she could strangle her.
Seeing Lu Jiaxin not making a sound, Elder Lady Hu stamred, “Miss Lu, I’m sorry, I know I was wrong. I shouldn’t have had such dreadful thoughts, but I never intended to harm your life.”
“Miss Lu, please spare ! As long as you’re willing to spare , I will burn incense and paper money for you every festival, lots and lots of paper money, so that you’ll have endless money to spend down below.”
By then, Lu Jiaxin had already cald down, and she deliberately elongated her tone, “King of Hell took pity on my wrongful death and specially permitted to co back for revenge. Second Sister Hu, I will take you down now, to the Eighteenth Level of Hell, where imps would first pull out your tongue, slice the flesh off your body piece by piece, and then throw it into a frying pan to sizzle…”
Before she could finish her sentence, she slled the stench of urine, indicating that Second Sister Hu had evidently been scared into incontinence.
Second Sister Hu, terrified, knelt on the ground, kowtowing and begging, “Miss Lu, I beg you to spare , please spare …”
Captain Sun, who was outside, heard this and worried that if it continued soone might get killed, so he quickly entered the room and turned on the light before walking over to Second Sister Hu.
Before he could say anything, Second Sister Hu darted behind him, pointed at Lu Jiaxin and shouted, “Captain Sun, there’s a ghost, a ghost…”
Captain Sun pulled out the Silver Bracelet and handcuffed Elder Lady Hu, then said sternly with a grim face, “Second Sister Hu, you’re under arrest for the human trafficking of won.”
Lu Jiaxin said with disgust, “There are no ghosts in this world, the ghost is in your own heart. Fortunately, I didn’t die back then, or you would have gotten away with it.”
Second Sister Hu finally realized that it was because Lu Jiaxin had accused her of being a human trafficker that she had been called back to Feng County to assist with the Public Security’s investigation. Since she wasn’t dead, she obviously wasn’t a ghost.
At this thought, Second Sister Hu’s legs went weak, but she still tried to rectify the situation: “I didn’t traffic won, I’ve been wronged.”

After saying that, she turned and left the room. Behind her, Second Sister Hu continued to make a scene, claiming that she had been speaking gibberish due to the fright she had suffered, insisting that what she said was not credible. However, all her struggles were in vain.
After going outside, Lu Jiaxin yawned and said, “Big Uncle Lu, let’s go back to sleep.”
Lu Jiajie, whose mouth worked faster than his brain, asked, “Can you actually sleep in that bed?”
Lu Jiaxin said she was not so delicate actually, in fact, after she entered the room she just put on a thick coat, lay on the table, and didn’t go to bed at all.
Big Uncle Lu, however, was completely devoid of sleepiness and asked, “Where did Jiaxin learn all that from? It looked truly unnerving.”
Even though he knew it was all pretend, his hair still stood on end a mont ago, so it was no wonder that Elder Lady Hu had spilled everything out of fright.
Lu Jiajie also wondered, shaking his head, “Even though I frequently visited, Jiaxin seldom spoke. She wouldn’t tell what she was learning or who her friends were. I reckon even Third Uncle doesn’t know.”
ntioning Lu Hongjun, Big Uncle Lu beca angry: “If it weren’t for him being so obsessed with that woman that he lost his wits, Jiaxin would be attending college classes right now, not suffering such an ordeal.”
Lu Jiajie tried to console him, “Big Uncle, big brother always says that fortune and misfortune rely on each other. Jiaxin, having gone through such trials, has not only beco decisive but also much wiser about the ways of the world. Looking at the long term, it’s a good thing.”
Though that might be true, his niece had nearly lost her life, and without life, everything else ant nothing. Big Uncle Lu felt that once they returned to the Forty-nine City, he needed to give Third Uncle a good talking to.
Big Uncle Lu said, “Jiajie, after we return, you and Jiaguang must take good care of Jiaxin and not let those mother and daughter bully her anymore.”
Lu Jiajie replied with a smile, “Big Uncle, have no worries! Jiaxin has beco so formidable now that not only that woman, even Third Uncle doesn’t stand a chance in front of her.”
Big Uncle Lu muttered curses under his breath, thinking about Third Uncle’s foolishness and the ss he had caused.
