Lu Jiaxin only bottod out in the Hong Kong real estate market and didn’t buy stocks anymore. She felt that stocks had fallen so much that they wouldn’t return to their original index values in the short term.

Nie Zhan said, "Jiaxin, can you co over for lunch this weekend?"

"What, did your grandpa suggest it?"

Nie Zhan nodded and said, "Grandpa knows we’re both very happy about taking the Central King of the Land together, and he wants you to co to the old mansion for lunch."

Lu Jiaxin didn’t respond to this but instead asked, "When are your aunt and the three children returning to Hong Kong?"

Nie Zhan knew her concerns: "I’ve already told Grandpa about this, and he doesn’t agree with the three children returning to Hong Kong for school. We’ll see whether Aunt stays in Arica or takes the children to Australia for school once Nie Jingshu’s case is decided."

After a pause, he said, "From what I know about Aunt, she should stay in Arica, making it convenient to visit Nie Jingshu."

Lu Jiaxin felt that as long as it didn’t affect her, Nie Manli could go wherever she wanted.

Nie Zhan ntioned Nie Jingwen: "I hinted at it to my big brother, spoke vaguely without saying it directly. After what happened the year before last, he’s not daring to be careless. This ti the loss is lighter compared to other banks."

Lu Jiaxin was speechless. Two years ago, she was sure there would be a stock market crash, and this ti it was purely superstition and caution. As a result, he didn’t listen last ti but followed this ti. But then again, with the lesson from last ti, if Nie Zhan hadn’t acted after the reminder, it would truly be hopeless.

Nie Zhan spoke to Lu Jiaxin about another matter: "I now hold 18% of the stock in the Peninsula Hotel. When the shareholders’ eting is held next month, I plan to propose the hotel’s expansion."

Lu Jiaxin thought the idea was good, but the Kadoorie family might not be willing. However, if the company doesn’t expand, it will eventually be surpassed by other hotels.

After thinking it over, Lu Jiaxin said, "If the shareholders’ eting doesn’t agree to the expansion, then let’s find another way. I believe they’ll agree."

If the Kadoorie family and shareholders disagree with Peninsula Hotel’s expansion, then we’ll go the franchise route. Franchising refers to a continuous contractual relationship between the franchisor and franchisees regarding a comrcial brand.

According to this contract, the franchising headquarters must provide franchisees with unique comrcial privileges and unconditional assistance in personnel training, organizational structure, operational managent, and supply and sales of goods. As a return, franchisees need to pay corresponding fees to the headquarters.

The forms of franchisee franchising are varied, mainly including voluntary franchising, commissioned franchising, and exclusive franchising.

Nie Zhan found her suggestion very good: "I plan to build one Peninsula Hotel each in the Forty-nine City, Magic Capital, and Yangcheng City. If they don’t agree, then we’ll take the franchise route."

The future three super-first-tier cities in the country are the Forty-nine City, Magic Capital, and Yangcheng City. One must admit this vision is indeed unique.

Reflecting on how tepid his managent of Wansheng Real Estate was when he first took over, Lu Jiaxin said, "Fortunately, I stimulated you; otherwise, it would have been a real waste of your talents."

Lately, outsiders have been praising him highly; he doesn’t feel much because those accolades are empty, but Jiaxin’s praise is sincere.

On Saturday, Lu Jiaxin went to the Nie Family Old Mansion. Although the conditions at the Recuperate Hospital are better, Old Master Nie still preferred to stay at ho. For his health, rehabilitation equipnt was purchased, and two doctors were hired to perform rehabilitation in the morning and afternoon.

After over a month of care, Old Master Nie’s speech has returned to normal, but his legs are still weak and need support.

Lu Jiaxin entered Old Master Nie’s room and felt uncomfortable with the sll inside, but she held back without showing any difference. As people age, they naturally develop a sll, Aunt had it too, and it’s unavoidable for anyone.

When Old Master Nie saw Lu Jiaxin, he smiled warmly, "Jiaxin, you’re here, co sit down."

After she sat down, Old Master Nie expressed his concerns and then brought up the engagent banquet. According to Old Master Nie, it should be grand, inviting notable people from all over Hong Kong. But Nie Zhan said Lu Jiaxin only wanted to invite family and friends to the engagent, and a big celebration should wait for the wedding.

Lu Jiaxin truly didn’t want a big celebration; the more guests invited, the more exhausting it would be. A wedding is understandable, but the engagent doesn’t need to be so tiring.

Old Master Nie smiled and respected her wishes: "Ah Zhan’s mother is not very capable, so let your sister-in-law help organize your engagent banquet. Would that be okay?"

Lu Jiaxin had no objections at all. Nie Manli and Nie Manlin, the two sisters, were unreliable, but Grandma Nie was dependable. She had shown goodwill from the very beginning, but various matters made her unwilling to interact too deeply with the Nie family.

When Grandma Nie heard her agree, she let out a sigh of relief. Ever since that madwoman caused the kidnapping incident, Jiaxin had been cold towards their family. Because of the estrangent, she suffered a significant loss in the stock market crash two years ago. Mind you, Zong Shing, who was close to her, made a fortune back then.

She held Lu Jiaxin’s hand with a smile, "Sister-in-law, there are many things to prepare for the engagent, let’s talk outside."

Lu Jiaxin glanced at Old Master Nie, and seeing him nod, she smiled and followed Zhang Lalan out.

In the living room, Zhang Lalan first asked about the number of guests on her side: "How many people from your family will co? Which friends in Hong Kong do you plan to invite?"

Lu Jiaxin didn’t have many close friends, and to avoid a stark contrast, she planned to bring in so company executives to fill in: "From my family, it’ll be my dad and nephew. My uncle and Big Aunt are getting old and may not endure long journeys well."

Zhang Lalan knew she was an only child, "What about your godfather, godmother, and cousins?"

Lu Jiaxin smiled and said, "My godfather and godmother hold special positions and can’t co before Hong Kong’s return. As for my cousins, my big brother is a state official and needs to be cautious about his influence, so he can’t co. My sister-in-law is still undecided. The others aren’t worth ntioning, but Brother Yuan’s family will attend then."

With that calculation, Lu family’s relatives wouldn’t even fill two tables, whereas they had at least twenty tables of family and friends. Oh well, the less-connected relatives won’t be invited to avoid an embarrassing difference between the two sides’ guests.

Grandma Nie also asked for Lu Jiaxin’s preferences and requirents for the engagent banquet’s setting, wanting to gather information to make arrangents.

Lu Jiaxin couldn’t hand everything over and said, "Sister-in-law, I plan to entrust the wedding planning to a wedding company."

"Do you have a preferred one?"

Lu Jiaxin hadn’t considered this before, so how could she have a preference? But she couldn’t say that, or it would seem dismissive: "I’ve selected one, but haven’t decided yet."

She’d have her secretary find one to choose from later.

"Where do you plan to hold the engagent banquet?"

Lu Jiaxin instinctively replied, "The Peninsula Hotel, Ah Zhan has already booked it with the hotel."

When Hong Kong tycoons get married, have children, or celebrate birthdays, they all hold them at five-star hotels. Without advance booking, there might not be good hotels available then.
