Fu Ye was also invited, but he declined, saying he had other commitnts. Lu Jiaxin figured it was probably because everyone else was coming in pairs, and it might be awkward for him to be the odd one out.
“What about Hu Huihui?”
What a silly question – Lu Jiaxin rolled her eyes at him before replying, “Miss Hu is today’s main character; do you think she won’t co?”
A smile crossed Su Heyuan’s face.
Seeing his obvious interest, Lu Jiaxin couldn’t help asking, “I’ve heard Miss Hu is quite average in looks. What attracted you to her?”
She had never t Miss Hu, but Shi Xinyu had ntioned that Hu Huihui was pretty in a delicate way, which was a polite way of saying average. Su Heyuan’s previous two girlfriends were one gorgeous and coquettish, the other elegant and imposing. Lu Jiaxin wondered what was so special about this girl to make Su Heyuan so eager to see her.
Shaking his head, Su Heyuan said, “No reason, I just liked her the mont I saw her.”
“Was it love at first sight?”
“You could say that.”
After breakfast, Lu Jiaxin went upstairs to change, wash her face, and apply sunscreen. At the ripe age of nineteen, she possessed a radiant youthfulness, and without makeup, she was not overshadowed by anyone, so she typically just took care of her skin and applied sunscreen.
When she ca downstairs, she saw Nie Zhan chatting with Su Heyuan. She walked up and linked her arm through Nie Zhan’s, asking, “How long have you been here?”
Nie Zhan looked down and kissed her forehead, smiling as he said, “Just got here. Zhifeng just called saying they’ve set off; let’s hurry up and go, too!”
