Chapter 199: Chapter 188: Raising the Shell Chapter 199: Chapter 188: Raising the Shell In the CEO’s office, Nie Zhan said with a smile, “Miss Lu, my grandfather really liked the painting you gave last ti.”

Lu Jiaxin politely replied that it was good he liked it, and then she took out her own proposal from her backpack. She didn’t hand it over to Nie Zhan, but instead asked, “Mr. Nie, I want five million for this proposal.”

The ripples in Nie Zhan’s heart instantly dissipated, and he sat up straight and said, “Miss Lu, if your proposal is worth this much, I will give you the full five million without missing a cent.”

Lu Jiaxin handed him the materials. She believed her proposal was worth five million, and if Nie Zhan didn’t pay, she would just say she had misjudged him, after all, soone had made several billion from this before. Of course, that person had extensive financial knowledge and sufficient funds, but she lacked the funds and the ti and energy to do it herself, so she could only sell the proposal.

Nie Zhan took it and saw the title “Reverse Takeover” right away. He then looked up at Lu Jiaxin for a mont before continuing to read.

In later years, many Mainland companies would use this thod to list in Hong Kong. They didn’t apply for their own listings because, at that ti, the Hong Kong Governnt’s requirents for this were extrely strict and the procedures complex. A reverse takeover was the quickest and most convenient thod. So saw the business opportunity, so they acquired so listed companies and then carried out asset stripping and restructuring to make them into clean shells, which they could then easily sell to turn around a profit of several billion.

Of course, the process involved a lot of financial and legal knowledge. Now in the 1980s, she didn’t think she could make several billion from this business, but flipping a shell company for tens of millions should be feasible.

Lu Jiaxin chose to use Hongzhong Real Estate as an example, and then briefly outlined the operation process. Mainly because she wasn’t a finance major, she didn’t dare write too many details.

After reading for more than half an hour, Nie Zhan closed the materials and said, “Miss Lu, did you complete this proposal independently?”

Lu Jiaxin nodded and replied, “I completed it by myself, and you are the first to see this proposal.”

Nie Zhan’s eyes showed admiration as he said, “Miss Lu, this is very creative, and no one in Hong Kong is doing this business yet.”

Lu Jiaxin looked at him earnestly and said, “Mr. Nie, this proposal is worth five million.”

Seeing her confident gaze, Nie Zhan’s lips curved into a smile, “Miss Lu, you have convinced . All right, I will buy this proposal for five million.”

When Lu Jiaxin saw he was willing to buy it for five million, her heart raced. In fact, even if Nie Zhan had bargained, she would have sold it for three million. Her proposal was selling creativity, and it wouldn’t be good if too many people knew about it.

Nie Zhan stood up and made a phone call. Once he sat back down, he explained to Lu Jiaxin, “I am planning to buy this proposal in my personal capacity, so I need you to wait for a mont. I’ll have my lawyer draft the contract and bring it over. Once we sign the contract, I will transfer the money to you.”

Lu Jiaxin understood that he was planning to do it himself. Indeed, since Nie’s was a family business, making tens of millions would leave little in his hands. It was a pity she didn’t have the funds; otherwise, she would have done it herself. As for lacking professional knowledge, in Hong Kong, as long as you have money you can hire any kind of talent.

“Dong, dong, dong…”

Wang Yadan brought in a glass of apple juice and a glass of kiwi fruit juice. Since Nie Zhan said he liked fruit juice, now was certainly the ti to accommodate his preference. Wang Yadan was tactful and walked out after putting down the two glasses of juice.

Lu Jiaxin took a sip of the juice, drinking in small sips. Seeing Nie Zhan watching her drink made her feel uneasy, “Mr. Nie, why aren’t you drinking?”

Nie Zhan said with a laugh, “Miss Lu, you’re very cute.”

Lu Jiaxin, who wasn’t a naive sixteen-year-old girl, knew sothing was off from the way Nie Zhan first looked at her. However, she was still young and hadn’t considered dating, so she politely said thank you.

Noting her distant attitude, Nie Zhan knew this approach wouldn’t work and imdiately changed tactics, talking about her proposal and pointing out so of its flaws.

Lu Jiaxin listened attentively, eventually taking notes in a little notebook.

Nie Zhan, noticing her interest in finance, couldn’t help but suggest, “Miss Lu, there are so people out there nowadays with just a superficial knowledge who dare to strut around under the guise of experts. If you wish, I can introduce you to an institution where the instructors are all professionals.”

Lu Jiaxin didn’t say that she had hastily read up on financial books to write the proposal. She responded, “Thank you, Mr. Nie, but that won’t be necessary. I’m about to start university, and I plan to major in finance next year.”

The teachers at Hong Kong University Business School were certainly more professional than those at training institutes.

All of a sudden Nie Zhan recalled what Wang Yadan had said and asked curiously, “Miss Lu, if you don’t mind asking, how old are you this year?”

“Sixteen, and I’ll be seventeen when I apply for university next year, which shouldn’t be too late.”

Nie Zhan, surprised, asked, “So you were only fifteen last year?”

“Yeah, why?”

Nie Zhan shared his thoughts, “I’ve visited the Mainland a few tis, and the girls there are reserved and modest. It’s rare to find soone like Miss Lu who is bold and insightful.”

“Thank you.”

Nie Zhan realized that Lu Jiaxin seed reluctant to chat with him but, having no experience in pursuing girls, he thought for a mont and then said, “Miss Lu, do you have a university in mind? I might be able to offer you so useful advice.”

Lu Jiaxin, finding his efforts to find a topic of conversation amusing, held back a laugh and said, “Hong Kong University Business School. My aunt said it’s very competitive, but I shouldn’t give up just because it’s difficult; I have to at least try.”

“Hong Kong University Business School isn’t hard to get into…”

He stopped mid-sentence upon realizing sothing was amiss, quickly adding, “I an, soone as intelligent as Miss Lu will certainly be able to get in.”

“Thank you.”

Yet again, Lu Jiaxin left him at a loss for words.

At that mont, an employee ca to report to Nie Zhan. Wang Yadan, noticing that the matter wasn’t urgent, asked him to co back later, “Manager Chen, the boss is inside talking with a guest. I’ll let you know when they’re finished.”

The usually reticent boss was able to talk with a young lady for such a long ti; it seed he was truly interested. She mumbled to herself, “Why can’t I have this kind of luck?”

A year ago, she had to rely on selling paintings for a living, and now not only did she have an aunt with assets worth over a hundred million, but she also caught her own boss’s eye. Her boss wasn’t just from a wealthy family and a Harvard graduate, but also had several billion in assets; if the young lady managed to move up, her life would be filled with unending glory and wealth.

Considering how Lu Jiaxin was dressed today, for a mont she wondered if she had been manipulated, that the girl selling the proposal was a ruse to et her boss. But she quickly dismissed the thought; the reason was simple, if the proposal was a sham, her boss would see right through it. Lying and poor character, even if it was the type the boss liked, wasn’t sothing he would entertain.
