The three of them sat in Kaelith’s office.

Argon held a cup in his hand, seated calmly, while Hades sat beside his mother.

Avalin stood quietly off to the side.

Compared to before, the atmosphere was calr now.

In another room, Luna and Peri were resting, unable to move around for long. Hades had checked on them through their bond and found them well.

Even though they appeared well, their body needed so ti, at least, a week to fully assimilate with Hades’ blood and adapt to the changes

They were naturally worried about what was happening here, but since Hades sensed no hostility from the older man, he told them not to worry.

Argon’s eyes briefly swept over the young man before him.

This was the one spoken of as the possible end of the world. The one who carries the blood of the being who is hated and feared across the world.

Soone who dared to challenge even Gods just because he was bored. Just because he lived for chaos.

However, this boy wasn’t like that.

He had already heard stories of the Chaos Heir from an acquaintance who knew Hades too. If not for the praise she had given the boy, Argon might have been far more cautious.

The boy had grown among humans—creatures often dismissed as emotional and foolish. They placed bonds and connections above everything else. Perhaps that was why he didn’t strike down Argon’s grandchild even after being provoked.

It must have been the sa human side that stopped him from acting rashly. And Argon can’t be any more thankful for that.

"Truthfully, the first thing I should have done was apologize for the trouble my child caused you," Argon said, his words directed at Hades.

Yes, he was upset to see his child in that condition but in the end, it was Averis who brought it upon herself.

The redhead shook his head. "Please don’t be, Sir Emberclad. It was between and Averis, and I believe it’s been settled."

Argon let out a sigh before turning to the older Aethernox. "Is he really your child?"

Kaelith grinned. "Well, he grew up away from . That’s why he doesn’t have my temper." She understood exactly what Argon ant, and she didn’t disagree. In Hades’s place, Kaelith might not have stopped at just taking an arm.

Leaning back in his seat, Argon asked, "Do you truly not plan to give her another chance?"

Hades’s expression shifted, torn by the request. But before he could answer, the older man continued.

"Things back ho are... bitter between Averis and her siblings. Not only because she was hailed as a genius, and people believed I had chosen her as my successor, but also because of her obsession with the Fallen One."

A sad smile touched his lips, making him look older than he had a mont ago. "Pursuing knowledge wasn’t the only reason she left. Her own kin made her feel unwelco, and that house beca suffocating for my little one."

Hades could tell the man cared deeply for Averis, even though her beliefs should have been unacceptable to soone from the opposing faction.

He couldn’t help but ask, "Why did you allow her to grow fond of Zerathos? Don’t you despise him?"

Kaelith leaned forward slightly, curious as well. How could a daughter of the opposing side grow up worshiping the Fallen One?

Argon’s expression grew heavy, his eyes clouded with mories he usually tried to avoid.

Letting out a long breath, he answered, "As a King, I hate him. I have countless reasons to stand against him and everything he’s done. But as a man... and as a warrior, I respect him."

He glanced at Kaelith before admitting, "I never told you this before, but Lord Zerathos once saved my life."

Kaelith’s eyes narrowed. "But you were nothing more than a baby at the ti."

Argon nodded. "Yes... I wasn’t even born then. He saved the mother who was carrying . And from her, I heard his tales—stories that ti has all but buried."

Hades leaned forward, curiosity flickering in his eyes. "Was he a good person?"

"Before the war? He was a hero. A... rebellious hero, to be honest." Argon’s voice carried a mix of respect and restraint. "He set his own rules, judged people, and executed them without hesitation. He belonged to no single domain—he acted wherever and whenever he wished."

A dry chuckle escaped him. "Truly, a rebellious hero."

A brief silence settled over the room.

From Argon’s words, it was clear that Zerathos had once held a good reputation among his people—until sothing changed. Forced to turn against his brothers, he beca the greatest villain in history.

Hades couldn’t help but ask himself, ’Do you rember this person?’

[Nope. But his description of is almost accurate.]

Hades chuckled inwardly. ’What part of it didn’t you like?’

[The hero part, of course. I never saw myself as one. It sounds... creepy.]

Hades nearly burst out laughing. This being was truly sothing else—unbothered by being branded a villain, but unsettled at being called a hero.

Just then, a knock echoed on the door.

Avalin, silent until now, stepped forward and opened it. Monts later, she returned. "It’s urgent, my lady."

Kaelith humd in acknowledgnt, while Argon tensed, thinking it must be news about his grandchild.

Instead, a soldier entered and bowed. "Lady Supre, we’ve received intelligence of strange movents in the west. It appears Lord Cravanvor is gathering his forces."

Kaelith’s brows furrowed. "He already knows?"

Avalin added, "I sensed a presence in the forest three days ago, my lady. If I’m not mistaken, it was Lord Cravanvor’s spy."

During that incident in the forest, Hades had released an imnse surge of aura—the raw chaos that sent beasts from every layer scattering in terror.

The spy must have witnessed it too.

Hades grew tense.

While Cravanvor wasn’t one of the strongest factions, they still have the resources and an army that might lead to a war.

Conflicting with them would surely be damaging.

However, before Hades could have asked his mother for what she was planning on doing, Argon stepped in, "Let take care of this," saying so, he commanded, "Daniel."

His shadow flickered before a man with long black hair and a pair of featureless white eyes appeared before them, kneeling on the ground gracefully.

"My Lord."

Argon commanded, "Return to the base and block their path. Don’t harm the Patriarch. Just break them."

"Ha," Saying so, the man disappeared.

Hades couldn’t even trace his mana to tell where he went. He was really like a ghost.

"I never asked for your help." Kaelith voiced.

Argon heaved a sigh, "Just consider this as a way for to compensate for what you have done for my granddaughter."

Kaelith humd, "But for you to intervene, won’t that make them know that you stand on this side?"

Argon nodded, "Yes, I know. But I have a very high hope that sooner or later, we would be forming an alliance anyway." As he said, he aningfully glanced at Hades.

"..." Did this old man not listen to him when Hades said that he doesn’t like his grandchild?

Hades left the two adults to talk about the incoming possible war.

He would have stayed but he was feeling a little drowsy so Kaelith said he can go. She assured him that she would fill in later.

Walking out of the room, Hades turned towards the maid nearby and asked, "Can you call Ava for ?"

The maid gave a brief bow before walking away.

Hades looked outside the castle.

The sky has turned dark. The weather seed gloomy.

’Hey...is my core damaged?’ He couldn’t help but wonder.

He rembered hearing sothing from the system when he charged at Averis back in the forest.

{Ding! Host, your core is unstable but not damaged. Because another fragnt of the host’s core was damaged, your core is now releasing imnse amount of magical energy.}

Hades touched his stomach, "I can feel it..." If not for the training he did with his mother and thanks to Peri, he has gained a better control over his magic.

However, he knew this wouldn’t last long. He would need to release this pent up energy sowhere.

"You called , young master?" A familiar pink head appeared with a soft smile on her face.

Wearing her usual maid uniform but without the scarf that exposed her fluffy ears, she appeared adorable.

He couldn’t help but reach out to her head and rub her head, "You have been working hard, Ava."

"Ehehe ..." She enjoyed the petting, slightly leaning forward to give him better access.

Hades told her, "Please report about Averis’s health from ti to ti, okay?"

Ava humd, "Understood..."

He kept rubbing her head for so ti before making his way to the room.
