The original story in the ga, *Apocalypse on Earth*, mainly focused on the main character, Seo Yuna.

As such, many other characters were sowhat left in the dark.

An example would be Adonis himself.

In the original route, he and Seo would have traveled to the next town in search of food, only to settle for beans in a can. They were not in the sa group, but Seo allowed him to follow her since all his group mbers died during the break of the 4th quest.

During their ti together, they barely spoke; only once in a while did they say a few things and then carry on with their daily lives.

Though Adonis still made himself the center of attention, his entire reason was unclear.

Not until the fifth quest, when Seo revealed how much she hated him, did he go on a rampage, indicating how obsessed he was with her.

His obsession got the better of him, and he intended to kill her. His plan failed, and Seo ended up beating him, even though he used his divine blessing.

In conclusion, his curse activated.

That very curse was sothing Jayhan had been looking to take control of, and the main reason he made Adonis join his group.

...

Standing in the middle of the room, Jayhan put on his clothes, buttoning his shirt while facing the entrance of the room.

On the floor behind him was Seo, fast asleep, with only her sweater to cover her naked body.

Once he was fully dressed, he clenched his fist, ready to head out the door.

Since most of the bats were still flying outside the window, he couldn’t afford to let Seo follow him; as such, he didn’t plan to wake her up.

"More than enough."

With that, Jayhan stepped out of the room.

Upon getting outside, he walked out of the school gates. The sky, once vibrant with light, now held a dark aura on its surface.

Rain dripped, accompanied by the rumble of thunder teasing to roar.

At the center of the road was Adonis, who had been waiting for Jayhan to show himself.

"And here I thought you chickened out," Adonis said, folding his arms.

"Would that have made you happy? Sorry to disappoint you, but I intend on beating so sense into you."

"Do you want to know what my divine protector is thinking right now?" asked Adonis.

"Their bond is already so great that they can communicate now?" Jayhan wondered.

"I wonder..."

"This human that stands before us is no human at all. He is an anomaly. But an anomaly I want you to destroy."

Adonis pointed.

"I don’t intend on losing. I am a victor; as such, this battle has already been decided, for all I know."

[You have equipped the Dragon Dagger.]

The blade appeared in Jayhan’s grasp.

"You talk too much. Co at if you really want to fight."

Adonis scowled, as if staring at a monster.

"Just so you know, I don’t intend on holding back."

Snapping his fingers, a long golden staff appeared in his hand, its body glowing with intense mana flowing around it.

The golden staff, with the weight of the heavens, was used by one historical figure alone: Sun Wukong, the Monkey God.

Jayhan activated his skill.

Jayhan simply gave a silent smile, his head facing the ground.

"The more I see, the less I understand about this asshole."

"Brace yourself, Son of Death!"

Adonis yelled as he charged forward at full speed, swinging his golden staff.

Jayhan took a quick step back, allowing the swing to move past him.

Of course, he could have just grabbed the staff and thrown Adonis to the side, but that would only be possible if the golden staff was a regular staff.

Adonis can endlessly increase its weight, making it risky to even think of grabbing it.

As soon as Adonis was off balance, Jayhan raised his foot and stomped him in the ribs.

Adonis’s body went flying upon impact, crashing next to a building that had already been broken down.

With an angry cry, Adonis launched himself out of the debris, imdiately going for the attack.

He swung his staff with all his might, huffing and puffing like a wild dog.

Alas, Jayhan was too quick for him.

Mid-attack, Jayhan sped to his back, landing a slap to the back of his head.

"Is this how you intended to fight , Adonis?"

Frustrated, Adonis turned around and launched yet another attack, anger etched on his face.

"Why won’t you stand still and let cut you down already?!"

Before he could get close, Jayhan whooshed past him, his dagger slicing Adonis in the gut.

Slowly, Adonis fell to his knees, the rain beating on his body as blood dripped to the ground.

"My blood?"

For the first ti in a while, Adonis was injured.

He didn’t scream, nor did he shout; he simply remained there, whispering sothing to himself.

"Use your divine blessing already. You can’t hope to stand a chance without it."

Almost as if Jayhan was pleading, he stood there, waiting to see what Adonis would do next.

To his surprise, the system notification popped up.

[The character Adonis has activated his Divine Blessing, "72 Transformations."]

The 72 Transformations, a legendary technique wielded by Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, stood as one of his most formidable weapons in his battles against the gods of the celestial realm.

This ability was no re parlor trick—it granted him the power to shapeshift into anyone or anything, adopting not only their form but also their abilities, strengths, and even their weaknesses.

With this unparalleled skill, Sun Wukong beca a terror to any deity foolish enough to challenge him, his na whispered in awe and dread across the heavens.

Yet, when it ca to a Divine Blessing, the rules shifted dramatically.

In the original tale, the one chosen as the Monkey King’s Divine Protector was not Adonis but another, a figure whose path diverged sharply from his.

Like Adonis, that predecessor had been granted the blessing of the 72 Transformations, a na that suggested a vast array of forms but was, in truth, more nuanced. Rather than a literal 72 shapes, the blessing unlocked seven distinct forms, each with its own extraordinary power.

The first form, known as the Form of Combat, was the foundation of Adonis’s journey, a state he had mastered and wielded with devastating precision throughout his quest.

It cloaked him in raw, primal strength, turning him into a whirlwind of destruction on the battlefield.

The second form, however, was where the true essence of divine protection began to manifest—a form reserved for those consud by a burning conviction, a relentless drive for vengeance.

The original bearer of the blessing, despite their own prowess, had lacked this fire, only barely tapping into the second form during the fifth scenario of their saga.

Adonis, by contrast, had t every criterion with unyielding resolve. Even with an elite-tier divine protector in the original story, Adonis’s power surpassed all expectations, his potential blazing brighter than his predecessor’s.

With a high-tier god like Sun Wukong as his patron, Adonis was poised to outshine any adversary, his strength bordering on the divine.

Such power, however, ca with a cost—it demanded control, restraint, a taming of the wild force within him.

Slowly, Adonis rose to his feet, his presence commanding the air around him. His eyes glowed with a fierce golden light, like twin suns igniting in the dusk.

Across his body, hundreds of intricate markings flared to life, each one pulsing with radiant energy, as though his skin had beco a constellation of stars.

This was the second transformation: the Form of the King, a state that radiated authority and untad power, its very aura bending the world to its will.

"Now, all I have to do is bu—"

Before the thought could fully form, Adonis vanished from his spot, a blur of motion too swift for the eye to follow.

In an instant, he was at his opponent’s side, his fist clenched tight, poised to deliver a blow that carried the weight of divine fury.

Before Jayhan could think to react, the attack had landed, shattering his ribs as his body went crashing into a building.
