Celis sat cross-legged in the middle of the blue forest, his large, dragon wings wrapped protectively around his body as he absorbed the final treasure he had discovered.

He had spent several days simply flying about, testing his strength, and gathering as many treasures as possible. In his hand, he held a massive sword; pitch black, extrely heavy, and thick.

"To think these treasures would upgrade my Seed to this extent," he mused. This was the Seed of the Orb, now upgraded and reford through the infusion of treasures and the new Blood Azure essence he had acquired. Not only had it beco sharper, but it now even housed its own reservoir of Blood Azure.

It could generate devastating strikes and unleash specific fiery attacks capable of corroding its foes.

"Ti for a rematch," he declared, a smirk plastered on his face. Rising to his feet, he tightened his grip on the sword’s hilt. Before him, a portal materialized, and on the other side lay the sa dark hall that had once trapped him.

Taking a deep breath, Celis stepped through, ready to face whatever awaited him.

"To think we couldn’t get any information out of him aside from a single na." Damon soared through the skies, his face twisted in an annoyed frown.

Despite the inhuman torture they had inflicted on the leader for almost a week, he had given no useful response, he died, spilling only the na of the Demon Prince.

"I need to get my hands on another Prince; soone who can tell where to find this damned Frayata!" He dismissed the howling demons around him; those few that dared strike him were instantly reduced to dust. His current goal was to reach the Gravesong Wastes, the nearest location known to harbor a titled demon.

"Once I find that bastard of a demon, I’m going to fuck him up!" Ever since the torture had failed to yield results, Damon’s mood had plumted.

Not only had they been unable to extract any more information, but he also felt that he had failed the innocent people he had seen suffering that day. He could have saved them, but he had held back in hopes of gaining more intel, and all in vain.

As he blasted through the air, he spotted many humans below. "These must be the disciples from the Fiend Devouring sect," he muttered.

Damon cared little for the Guardian sects; after all, he served an Afloria Lord whose resources and support rivalled those of the Guardian sects, and he commanded his own sect in the Nor region.

"That must be the place." Overhead, he saw a large black castle perched atop a mountain that looked as though it were made of bones.

Ten-foot-tall demons road the area like scavengers, but Damon ignored them; they were too weak for his concern. His strength was at rank seven, equal to, and often exceeding, that of Demon Princes. He could even match regular Dyrmath’s.

Increasing his speed, Damon rushed into the castle, heedless of the destruction his entry might cause.

"Aglazeth, you bastard! Co out!" Celis roared as he erged from the portal, a wild, powerful aura radiating from him. His slit eyes scanned the empty hall, yet there was no sign of anyone. "Aglazeth!" he yelled again, frustration lacing his tone. "Where did that fucker go?" Just as he prepared to search further, a sharp aura hurtled toward him at insane speed.

Pivoting quickly, Celis raised his blade in defence. "What the fuck!" he exclaid as the force slamd him against a wall, shattering his defences. "Who?"

Snapping his gaze around, he saw a man floating above him, cloaked in flickering black lightning. The stranger appeared entirely human—unlike the half-beast form Celis had assud—with sharp eyes and a calm expression.

"You must be the little Azure successor," the man said coolly.

Celis pushed off the wall and ascended, concentrating on the essence swirling around the newcor. "You’re the Black successor?" he asked, doubt tinting his voice.

"Damon," the man replied.

"Celis," he spat, whipping his sword and narrowing his eyes at Damon. "Why did you attack if you knew who I was?"

"I saw a disgusting beast and attacked—little did I know it was you," Damon shrugged, feigning nonchalance.

He seed only slightly surprised by Celis’s current appearance. Just a bit surprised, after all, Damon was a successor too, one far stronger than Celis.

Celis scowled. "My aura has been exuding for a while; you should have known it was ."

"Even if I did, what’s your point?" Damon replied. "You look like a beast, how could I tell whether you were friend or foe?" Though his words sounded reasonable, Celis sensed they were deliberate. "Anyway, I’m not here to bicker. Where is the prince of this place?"

Damon’s tone was more a command than a question, leaving Celis little room to reply, which only irked him further. "Find him yourself," Celis retorted, turning to leave until a tingle prickled along his skin.

"Don’t waste my ti! Where is he?" Damon shouted, his irritation flaring.

It had already been an extrely bad few days for Damon, and now his nerves were frayed. Turning, Celis glared at him with a bitter smile. "I’m not your bitch. Figure it out yourself."

At that, Damon’s frown deepened, and he vanished in a flash of black lightning. Celis readied his weapon, prepared to retaliate.

"You should know who you’re ssing with. I’m out of your league," a voice whispered from behind. Celis recognized the tone, though he had grown far stronger than before; his wings vibrated as he quickly created distance between himself and Damon. "Out of your league, my ass," he mocked. "Co on, show what pathetic league you’re in."

Damon’s wild grin mocked him further. "Alright, don’t go crying to the Azure Lord when you lose a few teeth," Damon sneered as his body flickered with black lightning.

Celis’s aura flared into a raging mix of crimson and blue—his Blood Azure essence igniting. The two charged at each other with insane speed; walls crumbled under their blows, floors cracked into web-like splinters, and dents and craters marred the ground. Then, amid the chaos, a massive wall collapsed.

"Haha, is this your league?" Both Celis and Damon erged from the ruins, standing erect. Celis noticeably injured, while Damon remained untouched.

"You haven’t landed a single blow, but you sure talk a lot," Damon shook his head. "If I were truly trying to kill you, you wouldn’t be here."

"Yet I am," Celis retorted with a smirk, though he grudgingly admitted that Damon was a formidable opponent. Without his new Blood Azure essence and beast transformation, he wouldn’t have been able to keep pace.

"You’re starting to irritate even more," Damon growled, his body suddenly engulfed in black lightning. The sky churned as bolts rained down around them, and Celis felt his hair stand on end. "A few lost limbs are no issue, the Azure Lord could heal you," Damon continued as he advanced, and a thick bolt of lightning struck Celis’ left arm, severing it.

"Arg!" Celis roared in pain, glaring at Damon. "Well, if you want to go hard, then so shall I!"

With a fierce shout, a tsunami of flas erupted from Celis, and even the raindrops in the sky transford into blazing orbs of red and blue fire. The very air ignited around him.

Damon’s body was soon shrouded in flas, forcing him to shield himself with his essence as he tried to stave off the inferno.

"That’s what master said; the damned flas are the most annoying things," Damon muttered, gritting his teeth as he took another step. Then, black lightning erupted from Damon’s body, aiming toward Celis. But Celis was ready; he dodged swiftly and charged through the fiery maelstrom.

"What is that?"

Everyone near the Gravesong Wastes—and even those in distant regions—witnessed the spectacular, seemingly endless flas.

Black lightning danced amid the reds and blues like schools of fish. Yet, the aura exuding from these flas was far from beautiful. It was utterly horrifying. Disciples and demons alike watched in frozen silence, their breaths held tight.
