Alexia

What the absolute fuck.

Why? Just why is this System so obsessed with piranhas?!

It wasn’t like this before the Reset, so why is it like this now?

I can’t help but scowl at the piranha boss. Which is slowly opening its glowing black eyes.

The piranha itself is letting off a very sinister aura. With pitch black energy coated faintly in an eerie crimson, and those beady pitch black eyes making feel like my very soul will be drawn in if I stare too long.

It has pitch black scales that seem like they absorb the very light around them along with its aura, and a mouth full of razor sharp teeth leaking a crimson liquid from their tips.

An incredibly sinister sight.

Albeit one that’s lessened by the fact that the piranha is about half a foot long.

It’s the sa length as my hand. Maybe ever so slightly longer.

Although the piranha is slightly thicker in width than the average piranha.

To my surprise, the other monsters in this chamber begin rushing at the piranha to attack it. Making realize exactly why the piranha was sealed away inside of a moon thing.

For its own protection from its defensive chanism. A chanism that apparently targets itself too.

Only for the piranha’s aura to spread out and cover the monsters approaching it. With said monsters beginning to shrivel up before the aura disintegrates them in seconds.

But things don’t stop there as the walls all around the cavern begin to crack.

At first it’s just a small crack, but after a few seconds the crack grows larger and larger before more cracks appear. Much larger ones this ti.

Then I hear what sounds like thunder as the entire outer shell of the monster starts to crack and shatter. Releasing all of the monsters all over the forr shell’s body while opening the entire area up. With the different parts of the shell separating and floating in the void of the dungeon.

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Which looks very intimidating when they’re all the size of planets.

I teleport far away when the boss’ sinister aura gets close to and the monsters released from the thing’s shell begin rushing at both and the boss.

And with my teleporting away – which becos possible because the shell is falling apart and is revealing the outside of the massive shell to – the monsters begin to rush only the boss. Giving the chance to get a sneak peek at the boss’ fighting.

Not that there’s much to see when they all practically launch into a suicide march. Disintegrating whenever they enter the boss’ aura.

I can’t help but frown as I watch this all happen from far away. Because it looks bizarre to see millions of half Ascendants being slaughtered by a tiny hand-sized piranha.

Very bizarre.

Especially when so of the monsters are the size of entire mountains.

Just seeing a tiny little piranha disintegrating a fish the size of a mountain looks so weird.

The piranha itself still seems a little sluggish. As if it’s still waking up or sothing.

My eyes narrow as I take in a lot of the energy from the attacks being sent at the boss. Quickly saving up enough energy for another Ascendant level attack simply by the sheer number of attacks alone.

There are millions of monsters rushing the boss after all. All of whom are launching attacks at the boss.

Even if those attacks don’t do a thing, disintegrating when they reach the boss’ aura.

I even get so energy from the boss’ aura alone.

After watching the monsters rush the boss for a little bit, I teleport right up to the aura before trying to slice through it with my blade. Only for the aura to repel my blade in the process. anwhile specks of the aura burst from where my blade struck it, with so touching my arm.

I feel so stinging pain across my arm that my soul rushes out to combat. Which makes realize a few things about the aura.

The aura seems to be doing various things.

For one, it has both magical and physical damage. Hence why it isn’t doing anywhere near as much to as the other monsters. What with my full immunity to physical damage and my partial immunity to magical damage.

But the biggest reason why the aura doesn’t hurt much is because of my own soul energy.

Because this aura seems to directly target the soul.

And as a quantum being, my soul is far stronger than most other creatures.

In that case…

I coat my arm in energy and my own soul before coating my blade as well. Then I swing my arm to slice straight into the aura.

And this ti I actually manage to cut into it quite a bit, without it harming or my blade much thanks to the soul and energy coating them.

Interesting.

The aura keeps spreading out to slaughter the monsters rushing the boss, and I keep absorbing the energy from all the attacks and monsters around the dungeon as I do my testing. Making a massive supply of energy build up.

But the number of monsters around are still decreasing bit by bit. Since there aren’t an infinite number of them.

And there don’t seem to be any new monsters appearing in the areas that are covered by the boss’ aura.

So there aren’t any replacents for the dead monsters anymore.

My eyes narrow as I turn my full attention to the still-groggy boss.

Right. Now’s the ti to attack.

With that thought in mind, I raise my blade while transforming it into a smaller sword to make it easier to hit the boss’ small fra. Then I begin coating it in the energy from both skills.

All before teleporting right up to the monster and swinging the sword down to strike the boss while it’s still waking up.

Here’s hoping this works.
