I’m getting really tired of fish.
Fish this, fish that. Piranha this, piranha that.
All across the System.
The only bright side about all these fish is that I haven’t actually seen a piranha yet. These fish are just regular looking fish with incredibly strong bites.
Not to ntion so abominations mixed in that look like terribly done mixes of different types of fish.
But more importantly, I’m feeling more and more annoyed by the fact that I couldn’t just kill one of the Ascendant Tier users outside that were hunting instead of dealing with this boss.
Unfortunately, that would’ve been impossible.
Sure I could’ve potentially killed them if they stood still to take a full Ascendant Tier level blast from Observation Effect Absorption. But that wouldn’t really be possible.
For one, I’d have to deactivate my True Form, significantly slowing down, weakening , and taking away my infinite energy tank that is the Quantum Realm. Then I’d have to go through the relatively long activation sequence of the attack to go through and hopefully land the shot that was just being charged up right in front of him.
Which isn’t very likely.
One mistake and I would be dead in that scenario. In fact, even if I didn’t make a mistake, I’d still probably be dead.
I let out a sigh at that thought, only to grimace when I feel sothing rushing at from behind. Making turn around to reach for another fish.
Then I lose my arm when it turns out to be so sort of swordfish, and the blade making up its nose cuts straight through my arm.
Severing said arm completely.
I blink before hurriedly killing the swordfish with a flare of quantum flas. Then I activate Quantum Reversal as usual. Draining quite a bit of energy to revert the damage to my body, reattaching my arm in the process.
Okay, I should be more careful.
I take a deep breath before letting it out and continuing to make my way through the tunnel inside of the boss’ body. All the way until I arrive at a large cavern within the creature.
Love this novel? Read it on to ensure the author gets credit.
A cavern filled with large sharks just casually swimming through the air.
Of course, the mont I enter the cavern, they all instantly turn towards before swarming in my direction.
The sharks themselves are gray in color with strange scales covering their bodies, along with glowing black teeth and eyes. So they look like so sort of ancient horror or sothing.
And there are dozens of them. All swimming right at in silence.
Which may be even creepier than them roaring or sothing.
Anyway, I teleport right past them and continue moving. Deciding not to waste my energy dealing with them.
And that surprisingly works rather well, considering that none of them manage to keep up with my teleporting.
This is a good way to deal with these caverns. Assuming there are more of them.
Which there probably will be.
I keep all of the items I have right now on hand just in case I need to use them at any mont. Especially the recovery items, which will be important.
But after figuring out my new strategy, I don’t end up using as much energy as before. Since I’m teleporting away from the biggest threats.
And it’s not like I have to kill everything in here.
I don’t need the EXP, after all.
Doing that is a waste of ti.
After traveling through the monster’s body for several days, though, sothing changes. The walls of the tunnels begin to tremble before turning softer and softer until it’s far easier to tell they’re made of flesh. Then they start to wiggle, extend, and contract like a worm’s flesh.
My eyes narrow for just a mont before widening in fear at the sight of the walls, floor, and ceiling of the tunnel gradually getting closer and closer. As if the monster’s body is trying to crush whatever’s inside of it.
Without hesitation, I begin teleporting over and over again through the tunnel. But the tunnel doesn’t stop shrinking. And by the ti I finally make it into one of those caverns, the tunnel is nearly too small to move through.
Fortunately for , the cavern doesn’t seem to have shrunk at all. Unlike the tunnels.
Unfortunately for , I’m not alone in the cavern. Since it looks like the majority of the monsters in the tunnels got the sa idea and fled to the caverns as well.
Except they made it here faster than I did, so the cavern is currently filled with hundreds of monsters of all sorts. Albeit all fish type monsters.
Or I guess aquatic would be more accurate, since there are things like octopi here as well. Not to ntion starfish and other aquatic creatures that aren’t fish.
A lot of the monsters turn to and begin to attack, but surprisingly enough, a lot of them ignore and attack other monsters. And so monsters just plain ignore everything.
Proving that the monsters all have different levels of hostility.
Which is good to know.
Anyway, these monsters are to powerful. I can kill them individually and in groups without that much trouble since they’re only what I should call ‘half-step Ascendants’, but this many is a problem.
So I begin to teleport all around the cavern while hoping against hope that the tunnels will open up again soon. And while I do that, I make sure to direct so of the attacks heading my way to hit so of the neutral monsters.
Angering said neutral monsters and making them attack the monsters that attacked them by accident.
I continue doing this for several minutes before the tunnels finally begin to open up again. Letting escape the cavern and continue my travel through the tunnels.
This ti with a lot more ease since most of the monsters are still corralled in the caverns.
At least, for a while.
It doesn’t take that long for the monsters to spread out again. But I at least make quite a bit of distance while they’re gone.
And eventually, the tunnels begin to collapse again. Leaving rushing into another cavern.
Starting the cycle over again.
