Those from the Kroma family definitely sensed the life energy emanating from the Transforming Rebirth’s Embrace. They probably wanted to use it as a ans of healing the Grand Duke of Harpe’s daughter; however, Izroth knew that such a thod would not work.
Despite the life energy it emitted, the Transforming Rebirth’s Embrace was not a healing item. In simple terms, it invigorated an individual, not restored their health.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Suddenly, Izroth heard the sound of a familiar knock at his door. Without a doubt, it belonged to Griselle, the attendant Vexpela assigned to him.
Earlier, Izroth sent Griselle out with the Circlet of Darkness to see if there was any unusual nether energy in any of the private rooms.
"Enter." Izroth said calmly.
"Excuse ." Griselle replied as she entered the room and approached Izroth.
Griselle held the Circlet of Darkness out toward Izroth with both hands.
"I have returned, Supre Elder." Griselle said.
Izroth took the Circlet of Darkness and returned it to his inventory.
"Did you find anything?" Izroth inquired.
"Yes. As the Supre Elder instructed, I went around and waited for a reaction from the bracelet you gave . It was normal everywhere else except for one place. When I approached the room, the bracelet turned pitch black. I... It felt sowhat uncomfortable and my years of experience told that it was too dangerous to proceed any further. Therefore, I returned before I could confirm it with my own eyes. My apologies, Supre Elder." Griselle explained regretfully.
"No, you did well. I admire the fact that you listened your instinct. In the end, your safety is more important than so information. You have my thanks." Izroth replied in a reassuring manner.
’It’s a sha she wasn’t able to confirm it with her own eyes. But, this much should be enough. At the very least, now I know for certain that the Faceless Death Stalker is here. And, they are not moving alone. Is it tied to the Duvelle family, after all?’
As Izroth began to speculate, Griselle spoke up.
"...I was, however, able to confirm the occupants of the private room where the bracelet reacted by checking the guest logs. According to what is listed there, the private room was assigned to the guests from the Undying Desolate Valley." Griselle stated anxiously.
’The Undying Desolate Valley..? I doubt they’re sharing a room with the Duvelle family. As far as I know, the two shouldn’t even interact with one another outside maybe a basic exchange of courtesies in passing. What is a netherworld creature doing among those of the Undying Desolate Valley?’
The Undying Desolate Valley were firm believers of the Goddess of Light, Primalux. As for the creatures of the netherworld, they worshipped the Netherworld Monarch. Like oil and water, the two simply did not mix.
’Unusual is understating it. It’s possible that the netherworld creature is a shapeshifter and that it has gone unnoticed by those from the Undying Desolate Valley. Whatever the case, I have to get to the bottom of things.’
"You’ve done well. Though I imagine it isn’t exactly standard procedure for an attendant to look through the guest logs. Even if it does have to do with a request made by the Supre Elder of the Fourth Pavilion." Izroth said calmly.
"I was instructed by manager- no, the young miss, to act as your personal attendant, Supre Elder. As such, I will try my best to achieve the results you desire of ." Griselle stated without hesitation.
’She keeps exceeding my expectations. I suppose I will have to apologize to Vexpela when I get the chance.’
"I plan on setting up a store in the Central Hub. It will help to have soone with experience and a good head on their shoulder. How would you feel about coming to work for ? I will double your current salary. And, if you have anything in particular you’d like to request, I’ll do my best to see to it. Of course, as long as it’s sothing within reason." Izroth stated in a straightforward manner.
Griselle could not hide her surprise at Izroth’s offer.
"It’s just as the young miss said. As long as I leave a good impression on the Supre Elder, an opportunity that can change my life will present itself to . As long as the Supre Elder is willing to accept , I will do my best to ensure that I never disappoint you or the trust you place in ." Griselle said with a warm smile as she bowed respectfully.
’Oh? Did she assign her to on purpose with this in mind? Her foresight is not bad. I can see why her siblings are trying their best to suppress her. If left unchecked, there would be no competition for the next Leader of the Golden Dragon Association. She would overtake them before they could wrap their heads around what happened.’
If it were soone else, it could have easily been misunderstood as placing Griselle by his side to keep an eye on him. However, Izroth knew that was not the case. For one, it would have been foolish for Griselle to reveal her intent so openly. Secondly, Vexpela was in no position to use such an obvious and heavy handed thod of control.
This was most likely Vexpela’s way of not only allowing those under her like Griselle to grow and expand their wings, but also help Izroth have an easier ti of establishing himself in the Central Hub. After all, having soone who knew the way things worked by his side would undoubtedly be helpful.
"Then, from now on, you are one of my people. No matter where you walk, always rember that. If anyone troubles you, do not hesitate to inform . We will discuss the specifics at a later ti. For now, I have another task for you." Izroth said as he removed two scrolls from his inventory.
Izroth took a few monts writing on both scrolls. He then sealed each of the scrolls and handed them both over to Griselle.
"Deliver the scroll on your left to the room where the Head of the Formation Master Guild resides. As for the other, hand it over to those from the Kroma family." Izroth instructed.
He then continued, "If the Head of the Formation Master Guild refuses to receive the scroll, simply say Arcane Script Runemaster. They will understand. As for the Kroma family—you can simply tell that it’s from the Supre Elder of the Fourth Pavilion."
"Understood. I will ensure that your ssages are delivered without fail." Griselle said confidently.
The next mont, after giving a proper farewell, Griselle excused herself to carry out the orders given to her by Izroth.
anwhile, Izroth turned his attention back toward the auction. Even though his conversation with Griselle was not that long, the competition had beco fierce among those still participating.
Needless to say, unless one resided in one of the private rooms, they simply did not have the ans to compete for the Transforming Rebirth’s Embrace.
"42,750,000 gold coins! Along with all the previous benefits ntioned! I will also add one support-type SSS-ranked magic item!" Burake offered.
