"That’s... When you put it that way, it does sound pretty bad." Celia sighed.
Rozomius continued to call up Apothecaries one by one.
There were a few promising prospects; however, most of the Apothecaries who went up obtained average to diocre results. Though there had not been another person who received no Natural Energy at all.
"Next up, Apothecary Konpel." Rozomius called upon.
"Young master Pierce, I’ll be going first." Konpel said as he cupped his hand into his fist respectfully before he walked toward the Guiding Light.
"No Natural Energy, no Natural Energy, no Natural Energy..." Celia chanted quietly as she crossed her fingers.
Worldly Skies smiled helplessly as she shook her head at Celia’s actions.
Konpel reached out and touched the Guiding Light. The mont he did so, six golden beads appeared with a small swirling typhoon.
"Natural Energy of Wind. Potential, tier six." Rozomius announced.
Konpel smirked before he walked back toward Pierce.
"My results are only average. I’m still lacking in many ways." Konpel said casually.
However, hearing Konpel’s words caused many of the Apothecaries’ expressions to turn sour.
Not only did Konpel obtain the Natural Energy of Wind, but it was also a tier six potential! This ant that he had the potential to beco a reliable grade eight Apothecary!
If his results were considered lacking, then what about others who had to give up on their path as an Apothecary? Wasn’t his words a little too much?
"Oh? A potential of tier six with the Natural Energy of Wind—not bad. I was starting to get a little disappointed with the results this ti around." One of the observers comnted.
"I’ll have to recruit him to our Ocean Haven Clan. As long as we invest in him properly, we’ll have a grade eight Apothecary to rely on in the future." Another observer said.
"Heh, just a little Ocean Haven Clan and you want to compete? You’ll only get the scraps that my Northern Ice Palace leaves on the table. This Apothecary—we’ll be taking him."
"Well, we’ll see about that. Our Iron River Group might have a thing or two to say in that regard."
Konpel’s results caused a stir among the observers. So far, he had the best results among the participants by a wide margin. Not to ntion, with the potential to beco a grade eight Apothecary and being on the sa level as the Elders of the Apothecary Guild one day, of course, there was no lack of groups that wanted to recruit him.
"Tsk... So arrogant just because he got so decent results...!" Celia scoffed as she clicked her tongue in an annoyed manner.
"He has no tact at all. He is openly mocking all the Apothecaries who went up to the Guiding Light before him without sha. This person is too arrogant." Worldly Skies frowned.
"Potential does not equate to outco. With his mindset, it is unlikely that he will go any further than a grade six Apothecary. If he’s lucky and realizes his mistakes sooner rather than later, perhaps it will be possible to beco a grade seven Apothecary. However, given his behavior and ’lack of tact’ as you’ve put it—I doubt such a change will occur." Izroth stated calmly.
So of the nearby Apothecaries looked at Izroth as if he were crazy. How could he utter such words to a future grade eight Apothecary? Was he looking for trouble?
Konpel’s gaze turned cold as he looked over at Izroth and his group.
"Oh? I was wondering who it was speaking so much nonsense. It turned out to be that delusional guy from before. Heh, talking so arrogantly when you used a backdoor to sneak into this promotion test—it must be nice having the Vice-Head as your backer! It seems you get to do whatever you want in the Apothecary Guild without following the rules!" Konpel said mockingly as he intentionally raised his voice for everyone to hear.
"Eh? He ca in through a backdoor? Is that even possible...?" One of the Apothecaries muttered.
"If it’s true that the Vice-Head is his backer, then it’s possible. But, I heard that the Vice-Head doesn’t really associate with anyone besides the Head and Elders of the Apothecary Guild."
"It looks like you’re a little out of the loop on the latest news. Haven’t you heard? He’s the person who was praised by the Vice-Head and won the Right of Challenge to beco a grade four Apothecary."
"What? Such a thing happened? How co I didn’t hear about it?"
"Heh, that’s because it happened less than an hour ago. Since I had so ti to kill, I decided to check out the grade four promotion test. That guy challenged Apothecary Rygar to the Right of Challenge and won. Not only that, they made a bet and Apothecary Rygar has to be his servant for a year. Apparently, the pill he crafted was so impressive that everyone wanted to fight over it."
"Sothing like that happened? Still... I heard the Vice-Head is a fair and just person. Even if he found the pill impressive, would he still beco soone’s backer?"
"What do you know? While I don’t know the exact details, it’s a well known fact that the Vice-Head has been suffering from a lifelong wound after the previous war. Whatever pill that Apothecary Izroth crafted seed to help. The Vice-Head left looking much healthier than when he arrived."
"If that happened, then Apothecary Konpel’s words might be true. If there was a Right of Challenge, then it ans Apothecary Izroth must have just beco a grade four Apothecary less than an hour ago. How could he have had ti to finish any tasks on the Wall of Pills and obtain the required amount of achievent points?"
"That’s right. He wouldn’t have had any ti to challenge the Wall of Pills, so how is he participating in the grade five promotion test?"
In the blink of an eye, a crowd of gazes landed on Izroth. There were those who looked at him with disdain and others with envy. With just a few words, Konpel had turned nearly everyone in the room against Izroth.
"You-! What kind of nonsense are you speaking?! The Palace Master earned his place in this promotion test fair and square!" Celia scowled.
"Ha! And, we’re just supposed to trust the words of soone close to him? Ridiculous! I apologize for disrupting the promotion test, but I must say this—that person did not earn the right to be here and should be tossed out!" Konpel shouted as he pointed at Izroth.
"Yeah, throw him out! He didn’t earn it!" One of the Apothecaries yelled.
"How dare he make light of the promotion test and use such underhanded ans!"
"Toss him out!"
"Disqualify him!"
It did not take long for many of the Apothecaries to speak up and agree with Konpel despite his arrogant words a little earlier.
’How amusing.’
Izroth could not help but to find Konpel’s actions to be amusing. There an old saying that went "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake".
Since he wanted to make a fool of himself, Izroth had no intention of stopping him.
"Hm... Even if it’s Vice-Head Malric, he cannot bend the rules in such an absurd manner for a single Apothecary." One of the observers stated.
"Vice-Head Malric is not that kind of man. Even if he is that young man’s backer, he would not bend the rules of the Apothecary Guild for his sake with that rigid personality of his."
"Normally, I would agree. But, you heard that young Apothecary. Given the tiline, even if we consider him to be a talented Apothecary, it is not possible to challenge the Wall of Pills and earn enough achievent points to participate in the grade five promotion test in less than one hour. Even a grade six Apothecary would not necessarily be capable of it, let alone a recently promoted grade four Apothecary."
"This is troubleso." Rozomius thought to himself as his gaze traveled over to Izroth.
Rozomius carefully observed Izroth; however, he did not see the signs of a guilty or nervous person. In fact, Izroth seed almost eerily calm despite the chaotic situation thrust upon him.
"That is not the reaction of soone nervous about the truth being revealed. Not to ntion, Vice-Head Malric creating a backdoor for soone? What a ludicrous conjecture." Rozomius silently pondered.
"Apothecary Rozomius, what will you do? At this rate, the promotion test will be delayed." Po brought up.
"Their imagination is running wild. The Vice-Head isn’t the type of man to ignore the rules to favor others. This is a waste of ti." Koralena stated.
"Even if that is the case, if we brush over it carelessly, others may see it as us trying to cover up the truth. In this way, regardless of whether or not Vice-Head Malric is innocent, I am afraid that we will have brought harm upon his reputation." Po said.
"I agree with Apothecary Koralena. The Vice-Head is not one to go against the rules of the Apothecary Guild. Apothecary Po is also correct. This manner cannot be addressed recklessly. As such, I will handle it in a way that does not tarnish the Vice-Head or the Apothecary Guild’s reputation." Rozomius said serenely.
