Given the nature of its existence, there were not many combat master class buildings in RML outside of the starting area and capital cities. However, a few of them still existed outside of those areas that Izroth had visited out of curiosity.
All the buildings differed in so way depending on where it was located, but they all had one similar feature—a certain symbol engraved on a small plaque that hung above its doors.
’The other four symbols... I’ve never seen them before.’
"I’m sure you’ve recognized at least one of the symbols on there since you’re a combat master. As for the other four, we know that the one on the far left roughly translates to ’The First’ while the symbol two spots to the right of it ans "of combat". As for the symbol in between those two and the one at the end, we have no idea. But, even if we don’t know what the words say, I’m sure you understand what it can potentially an for a combat master like yourself." Haishe said.
It did not take a genius to understand what Haishe was hinting at with this discovery. Even though he did not say it directly, Haishe pointed at the possibility of the ruins being sohow related to the combat master class. Not just that, but there was a chance that it was related to one of the first combat masters!
’Even after reading all the books on the first two floors of the Amaharpe Palace Library and looking around the different combat master class buildings, there isn’t much information available about how combat masters ca to be. If these ruins are sohow related to the first combat masters, it might be possible to under the origins of the combat master class.’
Out of curiosity, Izroth had once asked Gear about how combat masters ca to be. However, even soone acknowledged as one of the seven heroes did not have the answer to that question. The only thing Gear told Izroth back then was that combat masters had been around longer than he or anyone else could rember.
Because of that answer, Izroth found the current state of combat masters strange. If they had been around as long as Gear said, they should have a rich history and inheritance. Due to this not being the case, Izroth speculated one of three things.
The first was that combat masters were slowly phased out as things like warriors, mages, fighters and the other classes started to grow in power and form a systematic way of learning. After all, while the greatest strength of the combat master class was to create one’s own path, it was also its biggest weakness.
If there was no structured way of learning or inheriting skills, naturally, the risk of hitting a wall increased as ti passed. This was sothing players who attempted to beco combat masters felt in full force.
Rather than struggling to create a new path, wasn’t it much easier and secure to walk a path that had already been sturdily built and tread upon from start to finish?
As for the second reason, it had to do with its long history. Based on Gear’s words, combat masters had been around for thousands of years. While it was possible that it once stood at the pinnacle of the world, ti is a rciless foe that cannot be overco for most. Therefore, it was possible that combat masters had just naturally loss power and influence over the course of many generations, ultimately being reduced to what it was today.
Lastly, the final thing Izroth theorized was that, at so point in history, a great tragedy befell combat masters as a whole. A tragedy on such a scale would undoubtedly have had to been enough to affect the entire Mortal Realm. However, there was no ntion of such a tragedy ever occurring in anything Izroth ca across before in RML.
That being said, Izroth knew that it was possible for events and people to be erased from history with little to no trace. After all, he ran into such a situation back in the Chaotic Dogma Realm when he that unusual trephasia who seed to be from a ti that had long been forgotten by the world.
’I can see why he said it’s sothing that would catch my interest. Indeed, it is tempting to visit that place. That said, this guy—there is sothing more that he isn’t telling .’
"I can understand what you’re getting at. If this information is related to what I think it is, then it is more than enough to trade for the exclusive rights of the Spiraling Flas Pill." Izroth said in a carefree manner.
Haishe smiled as his eyes lit up in anticipation, "Then-"
"However, if I’m not wrong, that key you ntioned to open the sealed stone door—it must be related to combat masters, isn’t that so?" Izroth ntioned with a sharp gaze.
"This..." Haishe’s smile seed to wane after Izroth’s words.
"I tried to give him just enough hints to be curious, but not reveal anything of importance. To think he figured it out with so little information. Was ntioning the key and stone door a mistake? No... If I didn’t at least sowhat express its level of importance to us, he might have brushed it off. In the end, it looks like I have no choice but to be straightforward and hope that he’s willing to lend a hand—since the alternative will take too long." Haishe thought to himself with furrowed brows.
Haishe released a sigh and said with a helpless expression, "Palace Master Izroth is truly insightful. Since you’re curious about it, I won’t hide it from you. The truth is, we already know what ’key’ is required to open the sealed stone door."
Haishe’s expression beca serious as he continued, "While it’s true that we couldn’t translate all the words in the ruins, we know with absolutely certainty that it is related to the combat master class. As for the key I ntioned, it is a combat master who has broken through the first phase. I am not sure what this first phase entails; however, I am sure of two things. The first is that not just any combat master will do. After all, there might not be many combat masters, but there are still a few here and there. With the connections and resources of my Fatal Touch, it wasn’t that hard to locate a few to give it a try."
"Since you’re still asking for my help despite attempting it with other combat masters, I assu they did not et the requirents to be a ’key’." Izroth comnted.
"It’s just as Palace Master Izroth says. Unfortunately, the highest level combat master we could find was only in their 30s. We could help them level up, but it would be no different than blinding throwing manpower and resources at sothing that might not bear fruit. Plus, the location of the ruins is in a rather sensitive location. The longer we wait, the greater the chances of it being discovered by other powers. So, it’s not like we have the luxury to help soone level up and hope for the best." Haishe said as he shook his head disappointingly.
Izroth knew that there were other players that walked down the path of a combat master. However, he seldom ran into other combat masters. This was largely due to the difference in levels between him and other combat masters. Their paths were just less likely to cross since the vast majority of combat masters were still severely under leveled on average compared to other players.
Not to ntion, due to the alert and reward he received in the past, Izroth knew that he was the first combat master among players to reach level 50. Even if there were other combat masters, perhaps there were only a small handful that had managed to reach level 50 by this point.
’Can it be that the first phase he spoke of is related to being able to create skill orbs?’
It was a well known fact that combat masters did not undergo class advancents like other classes. However, what was not known to perhaps anyone but Izroth and Azalea, who had witnessed it with her own eyes, was that combat masters had the ability to create skill orbs. Of course, this ability only unlocked upon reaching level 50.
