Rmmmmble!

"?!"

Out of nowhere, the ground started to tremble violently as a heavy pressure rushed past the mbers of the top guilds present.

"What’s going on?! Can it be that the boss has a second phase?!" Off Beat comnted as he scowled and prepared himself for the worse.

"Nonsense! The system already announced that we successfully killed the boss! If it were a second phase, we would have never received such an alert!" Mist Princess comnted.

Right as everyone was startled and on guard at the sudden ergence of the tremors, an alert popped up for everyone present in the boss room that imdiately caused their expressions to turn ugly.

"Impossible!" Umi gasped as her eyes widened in shock as she read the system alert that appeared before her.

〈System Alert: You have failed the quest «To Dream of Being Divine»!〉

Of course, Umi was not the only person taken aback by the sudden alert of their failure.

Not even an hour had passed since the quest started and yet it was already over! The chance to obtain an epic item treasure chest and possibly even a unique item treasure chest had abruptly gone down the drain. How could any of them except this?

"Isn’t this an S-ranked quest?! How can soone clear it in under an hour?!" Off Beat roared angrily as he tried to maintain his balance through the imnse pressure and tremors.

"Over... It’s all over..." A look of despair ford on Umi’s face.

Umi planned to use the rewards gathered from completing the S-ranked quest to make up for her failure regarding the boss monster and setting two of the top guilds aside. However, now that the quest was over before they could even really get started, there was no longer a path left for her to tread.

Mobilizing the forces in Kifa Karsts was not a matter to be taken lightly. But, in order to ensure that the S-ranked quest could proceed without fail, Umi had mobilized all the essential forces of Broken Exile. And, she was not alone.

The other section leaders were in a similar situation. The Kifa Karsts was an important high level resource farm for the top guilds. Interrupting the flow of things would cause a cascading effect.

The craftsman of their guilds would have to delay their progress and any orders placed by the elite and core mbers would be forced to wait longer than anticipated. This could cause dungeon and raid runs to be pushed to a later date and interrupt plans on a grander scale!

As the realization of their situation sinked in, all of the section leaders present had an aura of defeat that encompassed them.

"Retreat! Everyone, fall back!" Slow Slumber ordered the mbers of Defiant.

"W-we’re trying, but the pressure is too much! Where did this terrifying energy co from?!" One of the mbers of Defiant cried out.

"Ahhhhh!" Suddenly, one of the guilds mbers of Defiant slamd into the ground as their body fragnted into several pieces like broken glass before shattering and dispersing.

Everyone was montarily stunned by the abrupt death of the Defiant mber. Unfortunately for them, that was only the start of the chaos. Swiftly, the mbers of the top guild followed in the footsteps of the Defiant mber as their bodies beca fragnted by the unknown pressure that descended upon them.

"Quick, use whatever ans you have to save yourself!" Umi commanded to the mbers of Broken Exile as she clapped her hands together.

The next mont, a veil of water flowed around Umi before transforming into a sphere of water infused with a strong surge of mana.

Woosh!

The sphere of water rushed out of the boss monster and toward the exit where they originally entered into the secret underwater base.

Soon after, the mbers of Broken Exile employed their own thods and followed after Umi. Though, not all of them were so fortunate. Many of their classes had no such skill that allowed them to escape the pressure. As for items, ones that could help soone escape in a pinch were considered life saving treasures and monopolized by the core mbers of the top guilds. How could they have such a valuable thing?

Rmmmmmble! Oooooom!

Out of the more than 100 players combined that belonged to the allied top guilds, only a handful of them were able to flee from the overwhelming pressure. As for the others, they beca fragnted and perished in the boss monster.

...

A few monts later...

Umi rushed up the floating staircase that ford when the secret underwater base opened along with the players who managed to escape.

"Those who died who among the main combat force of my Broken Exile in Kifa Karsts...! Not only did they lose a level and experience from dying, so of their rare equipnt even dropped! This loss is too big! I’m afraid it won’t end with just being demoted...!" Umi thought to herself as she clenched her fists.

Umi glanced back at the players who were able to flee in ti.

"There were more than a hundred of us. Now, we’ve been reduced to less than fifteen people—how hateful..!" Umi muttered.

"How dare you- Ah!" A scream could be heard coming from the area located near the top of the staircase.

Then, out of nowhere, a body fell from the top area and toward the depths of the still empty Ancient Karsts Spring. However, as the body fell, Umi recognized that person—they were one of the players left in charge of guarding the staircase into the secret underwater base!

"There are people still bold enough to attack the mbers of our top guilds in Kifa Karsts! I want to see who has such courage!" Umi erupted in a fit of rage.

Ever since the vicinity quest made its appearance, nothing had went the way she envisioned. Now, with her position and future in Broken Exile in jeopardy, such arrogant people could not have co at a better ti. She needed soone to vent this hatred and anger at swelling inside of her.

In just a couple of breaths, Umi finally managed to reach the top area of where she initially descended into staircase into the secret underwater base. However, what greeted her caused her to montarily freeze up.

"Section leader Umi, why did you suddenly stop-!" Mist Princess was about to scold Umi before she quickly fell silent.

A look of hatred flashed through Mist Princess’ eyes as she grit her teeth; however, she could not help hide her trembles that exposed her nervousness.

"Oh? Isn’t this section leader Umi and Mist Brat? It looks as though you two ran into so unexpected trouble. It seems there are a few other guests as well." A woman’s voice filled with authority sounded.

It did not take long for the others to catch up to Umi and Mist Princess. But, just like the two section leader, the others dared not make any rash moves.

Umi snapped out of it as her eyes swept over the group before her. While she could not count the exact number, there were at least fifty- no, seventy players total present! Find adventures at .Côm

The most frightening part of this was the person leading these group of players and those who accompanied her. There was not a single person present who did not know her identity.

The player who appeared at the head of the group was none other than the right hand woman of Sleeping Gardenia’s guild leader, Mariposa and the Commander of their most elite force, the Lotus Guard, Valkyria!

But, Valkyria was not alone. She was accompanied be fifty mbers of the Lotus Guard. Each mber of the Lotus Guard was equipped with at least a full set of rare equipnt and a rare weapon. As for their skill, not much needed to be said. At the very least, they were equal to the elite players of a top guild. However, there were definitely so hidden monsters among them that rivaled the core mbers.

Umi, Mist Princess, Off Beat, Clutch—the four section leaders knew that their current state was not good. After all, they had just overco a boss fight and were also injured by the abrupt pressure that appeared not long ago. If a fight truly were to break out, they knew that, with a single word, Valkyria could crush them as easily as stepping on an ant!

"Valkyria! Our two guilds may have never seen eye to eye, but don’t think that you can bully us! Right now, what you’re doing is against the agreent set in place within Kifa Karsts! Even if it’s you, can you handle the consequences of breaking an agreent between all the top guilds?!" Mist Princess scowled.

"Agreent? If I recall correctly, it was a certain other guild that first broke that agreent." Valkyria said as her gaze fell onto Slow Slumber.

Slow Slumber felt a chill run down his spine as he averted his gaze. He was just a fill in for Defeaning Silence. But, even if the section leader of Defiant himself were here, he would not dare cause trouble in front of Valkyria and the Lotus Guard!
