Orabela threw the vase, and it hit the mirror, breaking it into pieces. She saw her own reflection in the broken mirror, and anger coursed through every vein of hers.

"Bella! Bella! Open the door!" Miriam shouted from outside.

Orabela went to the door and opened it. Her mother walked in, scared for a mont to see the sight of the room. "What have you done? Are you alright?" she asked, checking Orabela’s arms, feet, and hands.

"I’m fine, Mom. I was angry," Orabela said, her eyes turning misty. Dad made Layla the Director of our company. How could he do this? I think both Layla and her mother planned this so that Layla could get into the company. Now that she has entered the company, she will do everything to take over it," Orabela stated, her lips quivering in fear.

"Dear, calm down," Miriam said, caressing her daughter’s arm. "It was necessary to give her a position in the company because we gave nothing to Layla all these years. Severe backlash your father has to face. And after what Seraphina did, everyone is questioning even staying as investors in the company. Layla is married to Lucius, the reason why her presence in the company was important," she explained to Orabela.

"Mom, they both destroyed our lives. You know, Roderick called earlier. He does not sound good. What if he breaks the engagent again? I won’t be able to live then, Mom," Orabela said, bringing her hand to her hair.

"That won’t happen," Miriam assured her.

"How are you so sure, Mom?" Orabela asked, tears rolled down her cheeks. "I agree I got attracted to Rick when he was dating Layla, but they both had nothing. Layla was unable to give him ti while Rick was crazy for . Now, Layla is his aunt. What if she starts manipulating him? Layla’s mother did the sa to Dad. She brought Dad under her grip. If Dad wanted he could have thrown out her a long ti ago, but he never did that," she muttered.

Miriam’s heart broke to see this side of her daughter and she hugged her. Patting her back, Miriam said, "I won’t ever let you deprive of your rights. What belongs to you won’t be given to anyone. I promise."

Orabela sobbed as she saw her life getting destroyed. Just then her phone buzzed and she pulled away from the hug, thinking it was from Roderick.

"An unknown number?" Orabela murmured and answered the call while wiping the tears from her cheeks.

"Hello!"

"Hi, Orabela Rosenzweig. If you want to end Layla, then you should et in the Sunshine Cafe right after an hour," the person said from the other side.

"Who are you?" Orabela furrowed her brows together.

"You’ll find out once you reach the cafe. I just want to tell you that I want Layla to be dead and so do you."

Before Orabela could speak further, the call disconnected.

"What happened? Who was it?" asked Miriam with a worried tone.

"A friend," Orabela lied.

"Oh. Tomorrow is your birthday. Just cheer up. But yourself a nice dress and forget whatever happened earlier. We have nothing to do with Seraphina. Rember that," Miriam told her.

"I understand, Mom." Orabela passed a tiny smile to her.

"I’ll ask the servants to clean the room. You should freshen up and go out for the shopping. Or if you want the designer to co here, then that’s good too," Miriam said, "the news hasn’t died down yet."

"Mom, I will go out," Orabela asserted. "I’m sorry for letting you undergo so much," she murmured.

"Don’t say that. It was never your fault, dear," Miriam stated. "Just get ready. Your room will be cleaned soon," with that Miriam left the room.

"So, there’s soone else to who doesn’t like Layla," Orabela chuckled and smiled.

Orabela entered the Sunshine Cafe and took out her phone to call the person.

"On your left," the person replied.

Orabela turned to look and saw a woman seated on the chair comfortably, sipping the coffee. She walked to the woman, who set the cup on the saucer.

"Have a seat, Orabela. I am Sylvia Mancini. Thank you for considering seeing despite the storm brewing in your life."

"How do you know, Layla? And how did you get my number?" Orabela inquired, furrowing her brows in confusion and suspicion.

"Well, it’s not tough to find out your number," Sylvia asserted. "I know Lucius since he was a close friend to my late friend. He was supposed to marry , but he married Layla. Before going into details, why don’t you order a coffee for yourself?" She suggested.

"Sure," Orabela replied and gazed at the waiter. He took the order and slipped away.

"So, Lucius was supposed to marry you!?"

"Yes. A promise my brother has taken from him," Sylvia replied. "We can work together to end Layla forever," she added.

"I don’t think ending her ga will be easy. Lucius is dangerous and he is unstoppable when it cos to Layla," Orabela asserted.

"That’s what bothers ," Sylvia said. "I know Lucius’s weaknesses. It’s just we need to use them at the right ti," she added. "So, will you be interested in joining my hand?" Sylvia arched her eyebrow.

The server ca and served the coffee to Orabela. She thanked him and lifted the cup before taking a sip.

"Layla has been a thorn in my way. I readily accept to join your hand, Sylvia. But you need to tell Lucius’s weaknesses. He has troubled a lot and humiliated in every possible way," Orabela affird, resting the cup on the saucer.

"You aren’t supposed to harm Lucius. Our common enemy is Layla, not Lucius. It all started because of your half-sister, don’t you think?" Sylvia questioned.

"Yes, Layla is the reason of my miseries," Orabela said, clenching her fists.

"Then, we will target her only. Layla got the wings after marrying Lucius. Let’s separate them," Sylvia said with a smirk.

Orabela couldn’t agree to less to her and grinned. "You are right. Layla never even opened her mouth before the marriage in front of us. But how will we separate them?"
