Orabela was shocked to receive the news from her secretary. She quickly checked her phone and saw the backlash from the public. Her eyes fell upon a clip in which Layla claid that the entire Rosenzweig family wanted her dead.

"Why would she say that?" Orabela muttered in frustration, scrolling through the comnts. People were rallying for Layla to receive her rightful place in the family.

"No, no. She can’t beco the heiress. I have to talk to Dad," Orabela murmured, snatching up her car keys as she stood.

"Miss Suzanne, I’m stepping out. Is the back exit clear?" she asked.

"Yes, ma’am," her secretary replied.

Orabela hurried to the elevator and descended to the ground floor. Driving off, she made her way ho. As she stepped into the living room, her eyes landed on Layla, sitting on the couch.

"Why are you here? You should go to your mother who tried to kill you. We aren’t liable to answer any of your questions when we don’t even know anything," Orabela said.

"Calm down, Bella," said Darius.

"Why, Dad?" Orabela gazed at her father in bewildernt.

"You always acted to be a good sister. What happened to you suddenly? Acting as if you also desired to be dead. Seems like you didn’t get happiness even after snatching Roderick, that coward guy," Layla remarked sharply.

"Layla, the police investigated the case in front of everyone. We weren’t involved in this. Now, you should deal with your own mother. Also, don’t co here. Since you have already declared us as your enemies," Lady Agatha stated, keeping her voice low.

"But your son wanted to be here. Already the Rosenzweig Groups has suffered huge losses since yesterday. Do you want it to get bankrupt completely? If yes, then I’ll leave," Layla stated and picked up her handbag. "Let’s go, Aiden," she told her bodyguard.

"Layla, stay seated," Darius’s voice finally cut through.

"Dad!" Orabela exclaid in shock, not expecting him to fall for Layla’s threats.

Layla set her handbag on the couch and took a seat. "It seems Orabela doesn’t want to be a shareholder in your company, Dad. Too bad—my patience is wearing thin," she remarked, crossing her arms defiantly.

"You already have your husband’s company. Why do you want a stake in Dad’s?" Orabela frowned.

"Stay quiet, Bella," Darius interrupted. "The fault is mine, and it’s my duty to make things right. What Seraphina did was indeed unforgivable." He sighed heavily.

"Madam, the first day you t , you told I shouldn’t have been born," Layla suddenly declared, drawing everyone’s attention to Miriam.

"I-I only said that because you were causing so much trouble in our lives," Miriam stamred.

"What about all of you? And Orabela, who never let have a mont’s peace? Every ti she lied, you all sided with her. I won’t settle for anything less. I want the second-highest share in the company," Layla stated firmly, looking directly at Darius. "If that’s not possible, make Director of your company, Dad."

"No! You’re unqualified to be a director," Orabela protested. "You don’t understand anything about being a shareholder, let alone running a company. Dad, don’t listen to her. She can’t touch us. Our company will run just as smoothly without her."

"I can’t believe you’re so afraid of , Bella. You think I’ll outshine you if I take on a significant role. I don’t have much ti to waste, so make a decision quickly," Layla said, casting a glance at Darius.

Darius had already called his secretary. "I’ll appoint you as the Director of the Rosenzweig Group. Will that satisfy you?" he asked.

Orabela’s eyes widened in shock and fear. Director—such a high position!

"That’s perfect, Dad. You should have done this long ago; maybe none of this would have happened," Layla replied, a satisfied smile crossing her face as she glanced at the others. None of them looked pleased. It spoke volus about their true nature.

Darius sighed as he signed the docunt, then handed it to Layla. "You’ll join as company director tomorrow. In return, withdraw all your statents against us and ensure the company doesn’t suffer. If it does, you’ll be held accountable."

"Don’t worry, Dad," Layla assured. Aiden took the file from Darius’s secretary and handed it to her. She read through it thoroughly, her smile widening. "Thank you for agreeing so quickly," she remarked, standing up. Collecting her handbag, she walked out of the room with Aiden close behind. This was the first step toward her goal.

Once in the car, Aiden opened the door for her. She slid inside, turned on her phone, and sent a quick ssage to Lucius, who was attending a bidding ceremony for a coveted piece of land with several major buyers present.

Roger noticed Lucius smiling and asked, "What’s making Boss smile?"

"Layla reached her first milestone," Lucius replied, setting his phone on the table.

"Madam is as remarkable as Boss," Roger comnted.

"She’s even better than I am. Handling so much at once with unwavering strength isn’t easy. Not everyone can do that," Lucius replied with admiration.

"Madam’s family is just like yours, Boss. They never truly cared for her, much like your own. I think that’s part of why you relate to her so well," Roger murmured.

"Yeah," Lucius agreed, then shifted the topic. "My nephew’s here, but I’m not letting him win this bid today."

The bidding ceremony began, and the announcer started calling out bids.

"One million dollars," Lucius stated confidently.

Roderick turned, spotting his uncle. A deep frown creased his forehead. "What’s he doing here?" he mumbled.

"Two million dollars," Roderick countered.

"Five million dollars," Lucius replied without hesitation.

"Ten million dollars," Roderick declared, raising the stakes.

"Twenty million dollars," Lucius responded firmly.

Roderick had planned on a maximum bid of ten million and couldn’t exceed that, given his limited funds. Still, he pushed once more for the last ti though he knew his uncle wouldn’t stop there. "Twenty-five million dollars."

"Forty million dollars," Lucius announced, sealing his victory.
