The next morning, Lucius woke to find the bed beside him empty. He glanced at the clock—it was already past six. Stretching his limbs, he decided to start the day with so light exercise and made his way to the in-house gym.

After an invigorating workout, he returned to the bedroom, wiping off a light sheen of sweat. His gaze imdiately landed on Layla, who was already dressed. She wore an elegant all-white ensemble—trousers paired with a soft cardigan—that complented her delicate features perfectly.

Lucius unscrewed the cap of a water bottle and took a slow sip before asking, "What’s with all the white today?"

Layla turned to him with a playful smile. "I thought I’d look like a fairy in white. That’s why I chose this outfit. Why? Don’t I look good?"

Lucius chuckled, setting the bottle on the table. "That’s not what I ant. You do look like a fairy, an angelic one." His eyes lingered on her for a mont before he added, "I would’ve kissed you, but right now, I’m not exactly in the best state for that."

Layla tilted her head, amusent dancing in her eyes. "Then freshen up first," she suggested with a teasing smirk. "Though, I wouldn’t mind kissing you just as you are." She took a step toward him, but Lucius imdiately backed away with a smirk of his own.

"But I’d rather be clean first," he replied, making her laugh as he disappeared into the bathroom.

Layla twirled around the room, her heart light with joy as she humd a soft tune. The excitent of becoming a mother filled her with warmth, making every mont feel magical. She stopped by the bedside table and picked up her phone, a bright smile gracing her lips.

Standing before the mirror, she adjusted her posture and captured a picture of herself, wanting to preserve this beautiful mont. She had made up her mind. Every month, she would take a picture until the day she finally held her child in her arms.

Her eyes shimred with gratitude as she clasped her hands together. "Thank you, God," she murmured, her voice filled with emotion. "Thank you for blessing us with this baby."

Layla hurried downstairs to check on breakfast, only to find that the maids had already set everything up. Glancing at the clock, she noted it was exactly 7:30 AM. Just as she was about to relax, nausea hit her.

Without a second thought, she turned around and rushed back upstairs, heading straight for the washroom.

As she reached the door, Lucius stepped out, but she barely noticed him, pushing past in her urgency. She leaned over the basin, heaving as the nausea overtook her.

Lucius imdiately followed her in, concern etching his face. Gently, he placed a hand on her back, rubbing soothing circles. "Are you alright, Layla?" he asked, his voice laced with worry.

Layla nodded weakly, rinsing her mouth under the running tap. The cool water refreshed her slightly, and she sighed, gripping the edges of the sink.

Lucius quickly handed her a towel. She accepted it with a small, grateful smile and wiped her mouth, feeling a little better under his caring gaze.

"I’m fine. It’s pretty normal in the beginning. Don’t worry," Layla said. She found him only in his trousers and continued, "Do you want to catch a cold?" Her eyes moved to the tattooed na of hers on his chest and a smile ford on her lips once again.

Placing her hand on his chest, she lifted her gaze to et his.

Lucius wrapped his arm around him and drew her close. His nose rubbed against hers and the two of them smiled. "I suddenly feel hot," he whispered.

Layla lightly hit on his chest when he claid her lips in a sudden kiss. His teeth grazed her lower lip, giving a light bite on them and nibbling them slowly. Their feet moved and Layla’s back pressed against the counter, her both arms wrapping around his neck already.

Lucius was the first one to pull away. He cupped her face and kissed her forehead before peppering kisses all over her face. She giggled, asking him to stop, but he didn’t until he was satisfied with her joyful laughter.

"Oh, my beautiful wife, I can’t help but love you more and more. I think I’ve gone crazy for you," Lucius murmured, his lips brushing against her ear. "Let’s take the day off. I just want to stay in bed with you all day."

Layla chuckled, resting her palms against his chest. "As tempting as that sounds, work is important too. I’m the chairwoman, rember? I can’t leave the company unattended for days on end," she reminded him with a playful smile. "And the sa goes for you, Mr. Director."

Lucius sighed in defeat but smiled nonetheless. "You’re right, as always." He took her hand in his, pressing a soft kiss to her knuckles before trailing more kisses along her cheek, savoring every mont.

Just then, a maid’s voice echoed from outside the door. "Sir, Madam, breakfast is ready. It’s getting cold."

Layla pulled away slightly, her lips curling into an amused smile. "Looks like we have no choice but to go."

With a reluctant sigh, Lucius nodded, and they stepped out of the washroom together.

Lucius was the first to get ready, slipping into a crisp suit while keeping an eye on Layla. Once she was done, he gathered their long coats and picked up her handbag.

"I can carry that," Layla insisted, reaching for it.

Lucius shook his head with a smirk. "Not happening. You go ahead."

Knowing she wouldn’t win against his stubbornness, Layla simply smiled and walked beside him as they headed downstairs for breakfast.

As they reached the bottom of the stairs, a sudden burst of confetti rained down over Layla and Lucius, making Layla gasp in surprise. Lucius instinctively pulled her close, only to be t with the grinning faces of Roger, Aiden, Demitri, and Zayne.

"Congratulations!" they cheered in unison, their voices filled with excitent.

Layla’s eyes widened, touched by the unexpected celebration. "You all planned this?" she asked, glancing at each of them.

Roger smirked. "Of course! We couldn’t let such wonderful news pass without a proper celebration."

Just then, Luca stepped forward, holding a small but beautifully decorated chocolate cake, Layla’s favorite. "Roger told the mont he found out. I had to be here. Congratulations! I’ll be a big uncle soon," he said with a warm smile.

Layla’s heart fluttered in happiness. She looked at Lucius, who simply shook his head with a fond smile, clearly amused by the surprise.
