Sylvia woke up late in the morning, a dull throbbing ache pulsing at her temples. She groaned softly, pressing her fingers to her forehead as last night’s conversation with Luca resurfaced in her mind.

"He talks better than most people around . I should really work on myself," she murmured, swinging her legs over the edge of the bed.

Pushing herself up, she padded toward the bathroom and stepped into a warm shower, letting the soothing water ease the lingering fatigue. By the ti she erged, she felt a little more refreshed.

Dressed in comfortable clothes, Sylvia headed to the kitchen and prepared a light breakfast. As she ate, she absentmindedly checked her phone, her eyes scanning through a series of unread ssages from her friends in the U.S. A small smile tugged at her lips as she began replying to them one by one. Once done, she set the phone aside, focusing on her al.

After finishing, she cleared the dishes, rinsing them under warm water before wiping down the countertops. The rhythmic task felt almost ditative.

Deciding to make the most of her morning, she moved on to tidying up the rest of the house, sweeping and dusting until everything was in order.

Finally, with a satisfied sigh, she sank into a chair, stretching out her legs. A sense of calm washed over her as she allowed herself a mont to simply relax while carrying her MacBook.

As Sylvia reviewed her last business plan, a wave of realization hit her—she had delayed everything far longer than she intended. Frustration flickered in her eyes, but she quickly pushed it aside, determined to get back on track.

Grabbing a notepad, she ticulously drafted a report, listing down key points and the individuals she needed to consult before officially launching her venture.

Once satisfied, she set the notepad on the small table beside her chair and turned her attention to her investnts. Scrolling through the figures, she heaved a sigh of relief. Everything was in profit. Yet, despite the tempting numbers, she wasn’t ready to sell just yet. She had a bigger vision in mind, and patience was her key.

Just then, the doorbell rang, pulling Sylvia from her thoughts. She set her phone aside and made her way to the door, her brows furrowing the mont she saw who was standing on the other side.

"You?" she muttered as her gaze flickered between Aiden, Demitri, and Roger.

"Yes," Aiden replied. "We’re here to talk to you."

Sylvia’s grip on the door tightened. "I have nothing to say to you three," she snapped, ready to slam the door to shut it in their faces.

Demitri, who had no interest in this conversation, had already turned away. He had no intention of wasting his ti speaking with her.

Before she could close the door completely, Aiden pressed his palm against it, preventing it from shutting.

"It’s about the truth," he stated. "Boss isn’t here, and it’s our responsibility to tell you what you need to know."

Sylvia’s lips pressed into a thin line, unwilling to entertain whatever they had co for.

"Boss won’t co to tell you himself," Roger added, his tone indifferent. "You’ve already ended your relationship with him by being bitter all the ti."

Those words hit Sylvia harder than she expected, and her grip on the door loosened slightly. For a brief mont, she hesitated, but then she noticed her neighbors stepping out of their apartnts. Not wanting to create unnecessary attention, she stepped aside.

"Co in," she muttered, pushing the door wider.

Aiden, Demitri, and Roger stepped inside without a word.

"The slippers are there," Sylvia said, nodding toward the shoe rack before turning on her heel and walking toward the living room.

The three n exchanged glances before slipping off their shoes and following her inside. She stood near the sofa chair, her arms crossed as she watched them settle onto the couch.

Breaking the silence, Aiden leaned forward slightly. "I was kidnapped a few weeks ago," he said.

Sylvia’s eyes widened, the words catching her off guard. Aiden? Kidnapped? That was nearly impossible. She knew how powerful Lucius’s n were—no one could just lay hands on him.

"Go on," she urged.

"It was Tsar Romanov and his father, who kidnapped . They took to Russia and threatened Boss with my life," he revealed. Slowly, he narrated the entire matter to Sylvia, telling her how much Lucius was ready to sacrifice.

"It was Tsar Romanov and his father who kidnapped ," Aiden revealed, his voice steady but laced with the weight of the past events. "They took to Russia and used my life to threaten Boss."

"Layla’s intelligence saved all of us, especially Lucius," Demitri added.

"Yeah," Roger agreed. "If Layla hadn’t been there, we could have lost our boss forever."

Sylvia’s gaze darkened as she sharply looked at the three n before her. "Why wasn’t I inford about any of this?" she demanded. "Tsar and Vladimir killed my brother. Shouldn’t I have had the right to confront them?"

"We didn’t wish to involve any woman in this operation. Varya was involved because she has quite an influence in Russia in the Underworld. Luca was the one who helped us because Layla asked for his help. They have known each other for quite a long ti. And we ca here to tell you all of this on Luca’s request. He told us how tough it was for you to live all by yourself after Matteo’s death," Aiden asserted while trying to be understanding in the hope she wouldn’t yell at them.

"So, why did Tsar killed my brother? What’s the truth?" Sylvia questioned.

"Matteo promised Antoine a long ti ago to keep Lucius safe," Aiden asserted.

"That’s why Matteo decided to eliminate Tsar," Aiden continued. "He knew that as long as Tsar lived, Boss would never be safe."

Sylvia’s brows furrowed in confusion. "But why? Why would my brother risk so much just to protect Lucius?"

Demitri finally spoke. "Because Lucius’s real family was the Romanovs."

Sylvia’s heart pounded. "What?"

"His mother fled Russia before he was even born," Aiden explained. "She hid his existence from Vladimir Romanov. But Vladimir eventually found out about his son, and he wanted him back—at any cost."

Roger leaned forward. "And in his quest to reclaim his son, he took many lives, including Lucius’s once in which his older brother lost his own life. Matteo, who promised Antoine, knew that if he didn’t act first, Lucius would never be free of the Romanovs. So, he planned to end them, but..." He paused, not able to finish the remaining sentence.
