"Since everything is fine now, don’t you think it’s ti to tell Demitri why you asked him to co here?" Layla suggested, glancing between the two n.
Demitri frowned slightly, his gaze shifting between Layla and Lucius. "What’s this about? I assud I was called here to clarify sothing for you both," he said, his tone tinged with curiosity.
Lucius leaned back in his chair, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Actually, the reason I asked you to co is because of Zayne," he began.
Demitri’s brows furrowed. "Zayne? Is everything alright with him?" he asked, a hint of concern lacing his voice.
"Yes, everything’s perfectly fine," Lucius reassured him. "Well, Zayne called yesterday with so news. He wants to introduce his girlfriend to us. She’s eager to et the family, so I told him to bring her over to our house this evening. It’s important that you’re there too," he explained with a firm nod, emphasizing the importance of the occasion.
"Sure. I’ll be there. It’s wonderful to know that Zayne is growing in life and relationship," Demitri stated.
"You two should learn from Zayne," Layla said, bringing Roger into the conversation too. "Fine right partners for you and settle down," she suggested.
"Why do you sound like my Grandma?" Demitri chuckled. "I used to date won in the past, but none could understand , so I am not seeing anyone for a while," he asserted. "But Roger should definitely see a woman since he’s never dated," he opined, smirking.
Layla nodded her head and gazed at Roger.
"Well, I’m not interested at the mont," Roger replied, glancing at Lucius to help him out.
"I’ve a eting to attend, so I’ll take my leave," Layla said, looking at the watch for the ti. She rose to her feet and Lucius too stood up. "Once again thank you, Demitri, for the bouquet and the gift. See you in the evening," she said with a warm smile.
"I’ll escort you back," Lucius insisted as they went to the door.
"I can go," Layla said with a small chuckle. "Work hard." She planted a soft kiss on his cheek and disappeared from his sight.
Lucius caressed his cheek while smiling. He walked into the office room and saw Demitri discussing sothing with Roger.
"Did Sylvia send you a ssage?" Demitri asked right away.
"Hmm. But I highly doubt it’s from her. A new number and a way of speaking she never used before," Lucius stated.
"You should find out if she’s okay," Demitri suggested to him. "Call her and ask if everything is well with her," he pointed.
"I don’t think she would be awake at this hour," Lucius replied. "I’ll call her later. You should go too," he stated.
"Have you truly forgotten ?" Demitri inquired.
Lucius humd as he went to his desk, picking up the red folder.
"Are you looking for Tsar then?" Demitri questioned.
"Not at the mont. I’ll take ti for it," Lucius replied as he didn’t open the folder. "I know you are guilty because you gave Matteo an information which brought him close to his death. But you don’t need to take the bla of that. Matteo made that choice for so reason. He must be aware of the dangers too," he murmured, not understanding how to console Demitri.
"I don’t want to lose you. I hope you still keep my advice in your mind," Demitri said. "I’ll see you later then," he asserted and left the office.
Roger gazed at Lucius, who was staring at the file in his hand. "It’s not wrong to choose your life over the others sotis," he whispered. "Please call in if you have any work." He went outside to sit on the secretary’s table,. leaving Lucius alone in his thoughts.

"You may go in," Aiden said, stepping aside and holding the door open to Layla’s office.
Roderick entered with a file in hand, his gaze imdiately falling on Layla, who was seated behind her desk, deeply engrossed in what seed to be an important phone call.
As their eyes t briefly, Layla acknowledged his presence with a subtle nod and gestured toward the chair opposite her desk, silently inviting him to take a seat and wait until her call concluded.
Roderick complied, settling into the chair and placing the file on his lap.
"Yes, Mrs. Arlington, we can begin tomorrow if that works for you. Absolutely. Wishing you a wonderful day as well," Layla said before ending the call.
"I want you to the resu the project with where you left in the middle," Roderick said, placing the file on the desk.
"And why should I do that? You’ll again speak of things, which falls outside our professional relationship," Layla pronounced, leaning back on the chair, resting her hands on her lap.
"Fine, I won’t bring personal matters," Roderick said. "I was pretty excited when we started this construction project. Uncle gave you the land of which my father dread of once to buy and construct his desired welfare hospital," he stated, showing how serious he was about it.
"I won’t be able to give you my ti in this project," Layla clarified to him. "However, I’ve a person in mind who can," she asserted.
"Who?" Roderick arched his brow in amusent.
"Well, it is your uncle. Lucius can assist you in this project and you two can take it forward from here. I can approve it for you if you are willing to work with Lucius," Layla stated.
Roderick contemplated for a mont. "If my uncle agrees, then I’ve no problem but I highly doubt he will," he said with a frown.
"Maybe he will," Layla said, extending her hand out for the file. Roderick handed it to her and looked at the glass naplate rested on the desk of Layla’s na.
"I never valued you in the ways uncle did," Roderick said, "and I’m sorry for that."
Layla knitted her brows together to hear his apology, but didn’t reply anything.
