Chapter 514: Chapter 313: Where Has the Ti Gone?

Magic City, The Bund, Nanjing Street.

The streets were bustling with people coming and going on this busy street filled with Republican Era architectural style.

The air was saturated with the scent of perfu; the refinent of Magic City was no joke.

Those who were a bit more particular about their appearance liked to spray so perfu before heading out.

So perfus were pungent, while others were a light, fresh fragrance that mingled on the elegant Nanjing Street.

Chen An’an stood with hands on hips, while Chen Xinyi beside her wore tiny overalls and held a bowl in her hand.

Then, on her small face, she donned an oversized pair of dark sunglasses.

In her hand, she also held a little stick, all geared up.

Just as she thought of finding a spot to squat and start a business as a boss, urban managent showed up.

What are you doing?

This is not a place for begging—do you know it ruins the city’s appearance!

Her entrepreneurial endeavor collapsed before it even started halfway.

Chen An’an, fuming, imdiately looked for another slightly hidden corner.

She thought urban managent wouldn’t find her there, but then a woman in a neat uniform appeared.

“Little girl, this isn’t a place for begging.”

Chen An’an caught her breath, wondering how soon after she had squatted down the urban managent had arrived.

Could they not be so quick?

“Big sister, just tell where I can set up, make a space!”

“You can’t set up anywhere.”

The female urban manager showed no expression; she wasn’t so temporary worker but a genuine high-caliber graduate from a prestigious 211 university.

This hard-earned position in urban managent was fought for through many challenges.

Chen An’an took her bowl to her own ho’s doorway, and this ti nobody ca to bother her.

Her family owned several businesses on Nanjing Street, including Bobo Milk Tea, Antler Coffee, Tenghui Departnt Store, and Water Cloud Space.

All had properties here.

The spot she chose was right in front of Tenghui Departnt Store.

Little fart kid laid a small cloth and placed a small bowl; she was the tiny boss.

Unfortunately, dressed too delicately, she couldn’t earn a single cent even after ten minutes passed.

Chen An’an stroked her chin, and a light bulb went off in her head.

Soon, her entrepreneurial trio arrived.

She herself with a Small Erhu, Zi played the suona, and Xiaomi perford the act of smashing rocks with his chest.

Since these two got involved with Chen An’an, their academic performance noticeably declined.

Their hobbies also increasingly skewed off course.

Despite coming from a well-known family, she grew fond of these random skills.

The three of them together were nothing short of earth-shattering; to those unaware, it seed as if they were conducting a funeral procession.

However, the act did have so effect, and the bowl started to collect a mixture of small, crumpled bills.

The female urban manager ca to enforce the law again, this ti unceremoniously calling their parents.

As a result…

They all turned out to be rich.

Do the children of these wealthy families really know how to create such a fuss?

I just can’t understand, really can’t understand.

She might as well just keep on patrolling.

Once back ho, Chen An’an sighed heavily, lanting how tough it was to be a beggar nowadays.

It’s nothing compared to begging online, which is much more convenient.

Chen Pingsheng helplessly glared at her, “Chen An’an, it was bad enough when you were a kid and liked to beg with a golden bowl, but to think of teaching this ancestral skill to your sister, can’t you try being a responsible older sister!”

“Dad, I just wanted her to experience the difficulties of making money,” she responded.

“You might as well forget it. When your brother is born, I might consider raising him in an urban village. You must never reveal the truth about our wealth to him,” her father advised.

Chen An’an’s eyes lit up, “Dad, do you really intend to hide our family’s wealth from my brother? Is that necessary?”

“It’s very necessary.”

Chen Pingsheng explained, “That’s what your mom thinks as well. She doesn’t want Little Third to grow up unaware of hardships, like many rich second generations. Your sister has completely disconnected from ordinary people as well; the only one sowhat grounded is you, since you lived in a rental house for a few years. As for your sister, from birth, she’s been living in a luxury villa. She believes your silly stories, even that one about buying a half-eaten lollipop for a million dollars.”

Chen An’an scratched her head, suddenly feeling a bit embarrassed.

“Dad, my sister is only three years old, she can learn these things when she’s a bit older.”

“It’s different,” he replied.

Chen Pingsheng shook his head, “In Huaxia, out of a population of 1.3 billion, less than 15,000 families can whip out a billion in cash. anwhile, 90% of the population earns less than five thousand a month.

“Earning over ten thousand a month is considered high inco and that’s only about 6% of the population. Our family businesses, whether it’s Fei Yangyang, Bobo Milk Tea, or Tenghui Departnt Store, are all modeled on extre cost-effectiveness.

“That ans we do business for ordinary people. Your mom fears that if your brother grows up disconnected from ordinary people, no amount of business theory or books will an anything to him because he won’t understand how hard ordinary people work just to have three als a day.

“You should be wary of becoming detached from ordinary people too,” he continued.

“Dad, I understand,” Chen An’an said earnestly. “When I go to high school, can I go to an ordinary one? I don’t want to go to an international school anymore.”

“But your grades have to qualify for that,” her father reminded her.

Chen Pingsheng said, “Your sister is very smart, smarter than both of us. She could go to a regular school; you can’t because you wouldn’t keep up.

“According to your mom, she possibly hopes you’ll go to Harvard when you grow up, but I prefer you attend a more ordinary university, one that isn’t tailored for the offspring of the wealthy. As for middle and high school, you can only attend the best schools where they don’t solely focus on records. There, you can freely express yourself without anyone daring to criticize your grades.”

“Dad, am I causing a lot of trouble for you?” she asked.

“Not at all,” he reassured.

Chen Pingsheng sat on the living room’s large sofa, as if reminiscing, “You used to be so sensible. When your mom and I had no money, you always managed yourself without crying or fussing in the rental house, waiting until it was dark to joyously open the door for us and cheerfully call out ‘Dad.'”

“Back then, all I thought about was providing a happy life for the two of you, going out early and coming back late. All the hardship would disappear the mont I saw you eagerly waiting at the door for my return each day.”

“Dad, it’s been so many years, and you still rember?”

“Of course, I rember,” he said.

Chen Pingsheng continued, “It might seem like many years ago to you, but for your parents, it feels like it happened just yesterday. I’m always afraid we’re not ready, and you kids are already grown up.”

Being a parent is never easy, but watching the children grow up

brings endless joy.

Ti passes too quickly, and only upon looking back does one realize that those carefree teenage years have long passed.

“Dad, don’t say that. My sister is only three years old, and my brother isn’t even born yet; how could you possibly be old?” she protested.

“Everyone gets old, just like those elderly people you see on the streets, who were once your age and grew up just like you. Take your sister to the mall; don’t indulge in all that nonsense,”

Chen Pingsheng shooed her away.

That way, she wouldn’t keep chattering like a little chatterbox, babbling non-stop.
