Tengying Entertainnt headquarters.
After about one-third of the people had been cleared out,
the whole place seed much emptier, as if this bustling building
had suddenly beco quiet.
Chen Pingsheng would usually co here for work and pick a random set of car keys in the morning.
Today was the sa, but he only ca after he had finished dropping off his grandparents.
He also arranged for them to visit so places he had been to before for a trip, as he couldn’t accompany them due to work.
Peng Ying had gone back with them, just pure to accompany them on the trip.
When she returns ho, she probably won’t stay longer than three days before coming back again, though whether she’ll take a plane or the return Coaster is unknown.
He still drove his Bugatti today, as this car was really a bit too cool.
When he arrived on the eighteenth floor, he even specially called Bai Xin to bring Song Shuiqing up and asked her if she had eaten breakfast.
Song Shuiqing was all secretive, acting as if coming up to the eighteenth floor was sothing shady.
Chen Pingsheng himself went to buy so decent German garden buns.
"Did you eat breakfast?"
"Brother-in-law, did you call here just to have breakfast?"
"What else?"
Song Shuiqing took off her hat and said, "Brother-in-law, with coming here every few days, my colleagues are almost mistaking for having sothing special with the boss."
"You do have a special relationship with ."
Song Shuiqing thought about it and it was true, but she still explained, "Brother-in-law, they don’t know all that when I co here. Every ti I visit your office, those envious glances are almost like they want to devour . Just watch, after I go down, they’ll definitely pull aside to ask again."
"Ah, Shuiqing, what did the boss call you up there for?"
"Shuiqing, where are you going tonight? I happen to have booked a restaurant, it’s really nice. How about I treat you to dinner there tonight?"
"Hey, Shuiqing, co here for a sec, I’ve spotted a little bag that’s perfect for you, just over three thousand, I bought it specially to give to you. Next ti the boss calls you up, could you maybe put in a good word for ?"
Song Shuiqing was a bit of a drama queen herself, imitating her colleagues’ lines perfectly.
It was quite an affected performance.
Song Shuiqing said earnestly, "If they knew the boss just calls up for breakfast, my als for the next three months would be all booked up by people waiting in line."
"It’s that exaggerated?" Chen Pingsheng looked at her amused.
Song Shuiqing expressed her astonishnt, "Brother-in-law, you’re just finding out? Rember you complinted a girl’s dress in the elevator? By the afternoon, that dress was sold out thanks to our group’s female colleagues."
"The next day when I looked, oh boy, my two-hundred-pound colleague had squeezed herself into that fashionable suit. A glance across the company and half of the won were wearing the sa outfit, the rest were just the ones who didn’t manage to grab one."
Song Shuiqing knew both how to eat and how to talk.
With a big bun in her hand, she stuffed it into her mouth without caring about her image.
The things she talked about were actually just daily work inside the group.
Not too exaggerated, except there was a particularly odd female colleague.
Relying on her looks, she daringly discussed in the employee café how to get close to the boss.
Even coming up with the cliched plot of accidentally twisting her ankle in the elevator.
Song Shuiqing didn’t know if she was joking, but after talking about it in the morning, she received a dismissal letter from the group’s HR in the afternoon.
Chen Pingsheng didn’t even know such a thing happened; he hadn’t bothered to find out.
Song Shuiqing exaggerated a bit, "There are quite a few female employees with that mindset, but she was the first idiot to blurt it out in the employee café. She deserved to be fired."
"Are you saying that since you joined your brother-in-law’s group, all you do is pay attention to this stuff?"
Song Shuiqing waved her hand, "Of course not, I have a very serious internship too. I’m about to graduate, and once I do, I can officially work for you, brother-in-law, as a little online marketing officer."
The online marketing departnt was responsible for Jiang Yilei.
The main job was to handle the online positioning and promotion for the various new ventures under the flag.
Song Shuiqing was very happy, she didn’t know if it was because her brother-in-law often called her up for breakfast that she was formally hired in advance,
or if it was really because she had the ability.
Who cares, what’s the point in fussing over it?
She remained optimistic.
After she finished the bun, Chen Pingsheng didn’t need her anymore.
He told her to go down and get busy with her own stuff.
Song Shuiqing was waiting for the elevator when she encountered Bai Xin standing at the elevator entrance, not sure which important person was coming.
It even required her, the boss’s only secretary, to personally co to receive them.
Bai Xin greeted her, and she naturally knew about that special relationship Song Shuiqing had.
The little cousin of the boss’s wife.
Within the entire group, aside from the top connected person, Song Wu,
she had the most background.
However, none of the other people in the group knew about it.
She didn’t flaunt this fact either and was quite honest and diligent as a little intern on the fifteenth floor.
She was probably going to beco a regular employee soon, and everything was proceeding through the normal channels.
The HR from over there even ca to ask specifically about Song Shuiqing’s arrangents.
Mainly because she was the only person in the group who could often go to the boss’s office.
That fact really made the HR who didn’t know the details jump to conclusions.
In the end, they decided to co and ask her personally.
It was actually an indirect way of inquiring about the boss’s intentions.
"Bai Xin, who are you waiting for here?"
Song Shuiqing curiously asked her.
Bai Xin was also young, and she joined the group at the very beginning, her legendary experience being Tengying’s first employee.
A window cleaner.
And as she cleaned, she polished her way to the pinnacle of her life.
The others couldn’t envy that, because when Tengying was first established, she was already by the boss’s side.
Sotis ability is secondary; what’s crucial is getting the right opportunity.
Now Tengying Entertainnt is valued at over tens of billions, and it’s about to beco a publicly listed company.
Anyone else who wants to stand out now would have to erge from amongst thousands of competitors.
And those who are eliminated, to begin with, are graduates from top universities.
And they also need to have experience working in major corporations.
Just think about competing with these people; if you don’t have so real strength, who could rise to the top easily?
"Fairy, Liu Yifei."
Bai Xin said, "She’s been trying to et with the boss for several days now. With Chen Qi’s wedding before and then the big industry migration to Magic City, the boss has been too busy. Only today did he manage to find an hour of ti."
Song Shuiqing responded with an ’oh,’ but inwardly she was quite amazed.
After all, this was Fairy Liu Yifei, who was always a top influencer in the circle no matter what.
To think that she had to queue and wait several days just to see her brother-in-law!
You’d be lying if you said you weren’t surprised.
But then again, when you think about it, it seems quite normal since Tengying Group is now a big na in the entertainnt industry.
Among their artists, just ntioning the top female headliners, there are Yang Mi and Zhao Liying.
On the male side, Teng is quickly erging.
There’s also Chen Sicheng, the newly promoted top director.
Without even realizing it, it has beco a superstar entertainnt group with an abundance of talent and dazzling stars.
Song Shuiqing obediently took the elevator down, and once she arrived on the fifteenth floor,
her colleagues actually stopped their work and all turned to look at her in unison.
As if there were flowers on her face.
Of course, there were no flowers, and everything was as usual.
Every ti she went up to the eighteenth floor and ca down, she would imdiately be chased by a group of colleagues asking for updates.
Then the supervisors would co over to chat with her, asking if there were any difficulties with her work lately and such.
Asking if she needed soone to take so of her workload off her shoulders.
But that was absolutely not allowed; if her cousin Song Yanxi found out, she would definitely scold her.
The work was already easy enough. If she let others share it, then wouldn’t she be able to get promotions and raises just by going up to the eighteenth floor every few days to eat a big bun?
She couldn’t take such shortcuts.
