Garfiel's eyes widened just a fraction—before the invisible force smashed him into the dirt with a thunderous boom. Dust shot up, trees trembled, and even Elsa paused mid-fight to raise an eyebrow.
Subaru walked forward slowly, like he wasn't just wielding a godlike power but was used to this nonsense by now. He pointed casually at Garfiel, who was now growling and trying to push himself off the cracked ground.
Subaru grinned. "Yeah, didn't expect that, did you? That's Sekht's Authority—Invisible Providence. Welco to the pain."
[Sekht purred in his head, smug and lazy. "You're improving, Suber. That hit had real rage behind it. I'm so proud~"]
[Minerva sighed. "Violence isn't always the answer... but wow, that was kind of satisfying."]
[Typhon laughed. "More! More! Show him who's boss!"]
Subaru sighed. "Why do I feel like I'm raising a group of murder-happy magical daughters..."
Garfiel coughed, smirking now as he stood up, licking the blood off his lip. "Heh... Not bad, outsider. Guess ya got so bite."
He cracked his neck. "But now ya got excited!"
Subaru took a stance, bracing as Garfiel's aura surged. His body bulked up slightly—his transformation beginning to activate. It was clear this wasn't over.
[Carmilla whispered nervously, "Uh-oh... maybe you shouldn't have gone that hard?"]
[Satella's calm voice ca next, gentle but firm. "He's a Guardian. He needs to test you before he trusts you. Don't kill him—win his respect."]
Subaru exhaled and focused. "Alright then, Garfiel. Round 2. Let's do this."

Subaru then actived [Vail Of Innocence] as he went invisible to everyone, and nobody could sense him, Subaru then used Yang Travel, basically using his version of the Body flicker from Naruto again, and sure he could use the [White Whale Aura] to Erase him from Garfiel mory, but that seed too much like a problem, and he was not dealing with that, plus he was not wanting to erase his mory from everyone by accident he had no practice with that skill of his.
A few minutes later, Emilia woke up and saw a Garfiel punching the air and getting slashed at; she wondered if there were drugs in her food as she just closed the door and saw through the Carriage window.
Subaru, now completely hidden under the effect of [Vail of Innocence], zipped through the trees using Yang Travel, a blur of white streaking through the shadows like a ghost. Garfiel kept swinging wildly at nothing, his claws slicing the wind as he growled, "Show yourself, coward!"
Inside Subaru's mind:
[Sekht chuckled. "You're such a little gremlin with this combo. I love it."]
[Beatrice deadpanned. "Just don't crash into a tree, you fool."]
Subaru zipped behind Garfiel, casually tapping his shoulder.
Garfiel spun instantly—only to punch the air again as Subaru was already gone, now crouched in a tree nearby, smirking.
"Too easy," Subaru whispered.
anwhile, inside the carriage...
Emilia blinked, staring out the window with her silver-purple eyes wide, watching Garfiel perform a one-man interpretive martial arts show.
He was yelling things like "Co out and fight !" and "I ain't scared of ghosts!" while flailing at nothing.
Emilia blinked once.
Twice.
Then calmly slid the window shut and sat back in her seat.
"...Did they put sothing weird in the water?" she muttered, rubbing her eyes.
She looked down at the unconscious Otto and ili.
"I'm the only normal one left, aren't I..."
Cut to Subaru, now standing directly behind Garfiel, unseen and untraceable. He raised a finger like he was poking a bear.
"So, buddy... how long do you plan on shadowboxing the air?"

Garfiel snarled and launched into another series of claw swipes, spinning in a feral frenzy. Dust flew, rocks cracked under his strength, but still—no contact. Just air.
And then—
Poke.
A single invisible finger jabbed Garfiel's shoulder.
He froze. Slowly, he turned his head to look behind him. Nothing.
[Pandora's voice echoed in Subaru's head, amused. "You know, provoking a quarter-beast muscle-head with the mind of a wild animal may not be the wisest tactic."]
Subaru grinned, whispering internally, "Yeah, but it's fun."
Sekht lazily purred in his mind.
["If you're gonna poke a tiger, might as well wear a steak."]
Poke.
"RAAAAGH!!" Garfiel roared, spinning into a full transformation—his body bulking up, claws elongating, veins popping. His pupils narrowed like a beast's. His sharp fangs glead as he entered partial beastification.
Subaru, still unseen, quietly backed away.
"Okay, maybe I overdid it."
Just as Garfiel leapt toward where Subaru had been—
BOOM!
He collided with a tree, splintering it into toothpicks.
Inside the carriage, Emilia winced as she felt the impact shake the ground.
"...Subaru?"
Otto groaned, still unconscious.
Back outside—
Subaru zipped away with Yang Travel, climbing a slope leading to a clearing. He dropped the invisibility, panting lightly as the Vail of Innocence cooled off.
"That guy's cracked out of his mind," he muttered, rubbing his neck. "Was like fighting Bakugo if he was raised by wild wolves."
He looked around. The dense forest slowly opened up ahead. And at the edge of the clearing...
A giant stone barrier stood.
It pulsed faintly with magic—pale green symbols flickering on its surface. The entrance to the Sanctuary.
Subaru stepped forward, but then—
Ding!

Subaru flinched.
"...You again?"
From nowhere and everywhere, that sa voice whispered:
"You should not exist."
The wind stilled. The trees froze. The sunlight dimd.
Od Lugunica was watching.
Subaru gritted his teeth. "Then watch prove I do."
As the fire split boat of them, Roswaal Landeand Subaru heard the voice again
"You live this ti, Boy".
Subaru looked at Roswaal as he spoke. "Been a while".
Roswaal looked at Garfiel as he spoke. "Ok, that was Fun, but Garfiel, he is one the people I hired".
Garfiel froze mid-step, claws half-transford, eyes wild.
"...What?" he growled, glancing back and forth between Roswaal and Subaru.
Roswaal, stepping past the splintered trees and scorched grass from their earlier scuffle, smiled in his usual sing-song lilt. "Yeees, quite the dramatic introduction, but—Garfiel, Garfiel, dear boy, I did ntion a new guest arriving, didn't I?"
Subaru dusted off his coat, muttering, "Yeah after you dropped off in Murderville and gave zero context."
Roswaal chuckled, the flas still crackling between them. "Details, details. I do love surprises."
Subaru stared him down. "And you love pissing off."
From the trees, ili erged, dragging Otto by the arm, who looked like he'd just woken from a hangover and saw a tiger. "Ugh, my everything hurts..."
ili waved. "Subaru, you didn't tell we were fighting steroid Tony today!"
Subaru groaned. "It was a surprise to , too!"
Garfiel finally cald a little, narrowing his glowing eyes at Subaru. "You used Authority. I could sll it."
Subaru didn't deny it, stepping forward. "And I'll use it again if I have to."
The tension still simred, but Roswaal clapped his hands. "Now now, children, play nice. The Sanctuary's trials await, and you all have roles to play."
Subaru muttered, "Yeah, trial, trauma, and trauma part two."
Just then, the wind grew still again.
"You live this ti, Boy."
The voice. Od Lugunica. Its weight pressed on the world like gravity.
Roswaal visibly tensed, lips tight. Garfiel's ears perked, brows furrowed.
Subaru stood straight, staring into the sky. "Then I'll keep living. Every ti."
Subaru went to ili, as he used [Compassionate Wrath], as he started to heal, as he felt the pain. "Here you go".
[Minerva spoke in his head. "Sorry, again, about my Authority"]
Subaru spoke in his head. "No problem, but really, why do feel the damage?".
[Minerva's voice ca softly in his head, tinged with guilt. "Because... my Authority doesn't co without a price. You're taking their pain into yourself. That's the core of Compassionate Wrath—you heal, but you suffer for it."]
Subaru winced as a sharp sting traveled through his back and ribs, echoing Otto's earlier injuries. He hissed between his teeth, but kept healing ili's bruised arm, his hand glowing faintly with a golden light.
"So I'm basically a magical pain sponge..." Subaru muttered, shaking off the burn. He gave ili a forced smile. "There, good as new."
ili blinked at him, surprised. "You're weird, Mister Subaru... but thanks."
[Minerva spoke again, softer now.]
"It's why I'm the Witch of Wrath... but not the kind you think. I couldn't stand to see others suffer, so I took their pain. You're... walking the sa path now."
Subaru rubbed his forehead, already feeling a dull ache building. "Great. Authority of Wrath is just another masochism speedrun."
[Minerva giggled a little in his head.
"Well, you always did throw yourself into saving others, even before you had powers. This just makes it... literal."]
Subaru stood up, looking at ili and Otto, then over at Garfiel, who was still suspiciously sniffing the air. He sighed. "Let's just get to the Sanctuary before another giant killer bunny or god-voice decides to drop in..."
anwhile, back in Space and Ti, Future Subaru, sitting in his Lab was Minerva as he checked the current events.
Future Subaru just looked at Garfiel. "Will, now, was this before or after Garfiel went Red Beast?".
Minerva looked at him as she spoke. "Before, that was your second Loop in the sanctuary".
Future Subaru leaned back in his chair, a low whistle escaping his lips as he eyed the display of events unfolding.
"Second loop, huh? Damn, I forgot how much of a handful Garfiel was before we bonded over trauma and tiger rage."
Minerva crossed her arms, a slight pout on her face. "You made that sound more dramatic than it was..."
Subaru smirked, his Third Eye flickering with faint light. "Everything is dramatic when your ribs are getting broken every other loop."
Minerva looked at him for a second, then back at the tiline screen. "You're doing better this ti, though. You didn't even die yet. That's... improvent."
"That's setting the bar low." Subaru chuckled dryly, but the pride in his voice couldn't be hidden.
He turned back to the tiline projection, watching present Subaru walk beside a still-confused ili, with Otto limping behind them. In the distance, the Sanctuary shimred faintly.
"Still... Od Lugunica is watching. I can feel it."
Minerva's expression shifted. "You're worried it'll interfere again?"
Subaru's gaze narrowed, the third eye glowing more intensely. "I know it will. Od doesn't like wildcards. And right now... I'm the biggest one in the ga."
"So... what are you gonna do about it?" Minerva asked gently.
Future Subaru smiled, but his tone was deadly serious. "The sa thing I've always done—keep walking forward. Until I save everyone."
Minerva looked as she spoke. "Don't forget, he is going to contact you".
Future Subaru looked at her as he spoke. "Right, Loop 3, I think; I don't even rember how Contacted by Self in the past".
A Voice then ca that sounded too much like Church as it spoke.
"Pure Dumb Luck".
Minerva pointed a Finger at the Voice. "Hell No, today is my term, as we decided in the chart years ago, so you're not coming to this ti stream".
Subaru just sighed as he spoke. "Crusch, can you not? I will spend ti with you tomorrow, ok?".
A soft chuckle echoed through the space-ti lab as the voice of Crusch—calm, noble, but tinged with playful sarcasm—responded.
"Fine, I'll behave. But don't forget, tomorrow is my day. No ditching."
Minerva crossed her arms proudly, nodding. "Thank you. Anyway, today is for and our adorable ss of a self trying to not die for once."
Future Subaru rubbed his temple, muttering under his breath. "Ti-traveling harems are a logistical nightmare..."
Minerva leaned in close, a smug grin on her face. "You love it."
He gave her a side glance and smiled faintly. "Yeah... I do."
Just then, a ripple ford near the ti window, a flicker of light pulsing unnaturally. Subaru's expression turned cold as he stepped closer to inspect it.
"There it is... Od Lugunica's presence. It's faint, but he's starting to reach into the loop. That ans the third loop is going to get... complicated."
Minerva floated beside him, her eyes narrowing. "Do you think he'll try direct contact?"
Subaru nodded slowly. "Most likely. That's when I first heard his voice. Loop three. He'll try to shake my resolve... try to make doubt what I am."
A pause.
"But he forgets one thing..."
Minerva tilted her head. "What?"
Subaru's Third Eye blazed with resolve. "I've already embraced what I am. Witch or Warlock... Hero or Monster... I'm Subaru Natsuki. And I don't stop."
Back in the current day, as Subaru looked at Roswaal. "So this place in the grave of The Witch Of Greed".
Roswaal Smirked as he spoke. "Yes, but I would like it if call her by her real na Echidna".
Subaru shrugged as he spoke. "I have no problem with that".
Garfiel looked as he spoke. "Says the Authority User"
Subaru looked as he spoke. "Says the Tiger".
Roswaal then continue. "My family has been guarding this place for Generations, and as the latest ot the Bloodline it is my job".
Subaru spoke in his head. "Bullshit"
[Echidna spoke in his head. "I wonder what my dear Students reaction will be finding I was sealed away by Flugle and not killed, and what he thinks is my dead body is my sleeping body"]
Subaru spoke in his head. "Go to my mory; I am pretty sure there is a that is a perfect example".
Echidna, now comfortably nestled within Subaru's mind like a smug cat on a throne, sifted through his mories. A few seconds later, she giggled mischievously.
[Echidna]: "Oh my... is this that 'surprised Pikachu face'? The one that goes—'Finds out master didn't die but was sealed instead... Shocked Pikachu'?"
Subaru smirked to himself as Roswaal continued monologuing like a budget villain with a flair for dramatics.
[Subaru]: "Yup, that's the one. Honestly, when he finds out, his face is gonna go from smug to traumatized in .3 seconds."
Garfiel, still suspicious, crossed his arms. "Tch. I don't like it. There's too many weird vibes 'round you, four-eyes."
Subaru gave him a thumbs up. "Don't worry. The weirdest vibe here is standing in front of us shirtless with tiger abs."
Garfiel blinked, looked down at himself, and actually paused for a mont before Roswaal interrupted again.
Roswaal: "Regardless, the Trial must be taken by those of non-human blood. But now that you're here..." He looked at Subaru with a glimr of curiosity. "...things may not go as planned."
Subaru muttered. "Yeah, welco to my life."
In his head, Echidna whispered again.
[Echidna]: "So... shall we wake up properly? Or shall we let Roswaal stew in his delusions for a bit longer?"
[Subaru]: "Let him stew. I wanna see how long it takes before he realizes I'm the DLC he didn't pay for."
