After Cedric heard the plan, he was delighted as he thought that his chance of dying would be slim if Kai's claims about his healing ability proved true.
Pondering for a few seconds, Cedric asked Kai. "Is your healing ability really that good? Don't misunderstand —I'm just curious, that's all."
Kai raised an eyebrow and smiled, as he thought about sothing.
"Of course. I'll show you just how strong it is." Kai said with a chuckle, then opened his shirt.
"W-what are you doing? I'm telling you now. I already have a wife!" Cedric blurted out when he saw Kai start to undress.
"Get the fuck off!" Kai frowned and kicked Cedric in the stomach, forcing him to take a few steps back.
"I just don't want to stain my shirt when I demonstrate it." Kai explained, unsheathing his sword slowly and placing its tip against his belly as if preparing for seppuku.
The reason Kai went so far as to display his healing capability was not purely to show its effect but for another purpose.
Kai heard that Cedric's wife was infertile since he had rembered who Cedric was.
That was why he wanted to prove his healing ability was so great it could cure anything, provided he was strong enough.
In this way, Cedric would naturally think of his wife's problem, as Kai knew Cedric had been searching for a cure.
Naturally, Kai had the confidence that he could cure it, as his intuition told him that he was able to do so.
When Cedric saw what Kai was about to do, he frowned, unable to fathom why the young man would go as far as stabbing himself.
Kai only smirked before stabbing himself into his stomach.
'Fck, that hurts like hell.' Kai thought, gritting his teeth and instantly regretting his decision.
Subsequently, Kai quickly pulled the sword free and smiled at Cedric.
"Watch!" Kai said as he used his [Heal] skill.
The stab wound closed almost instantly, fully healed in less than a second.
Wiping the blood from his abdon, Kai looked at Cedric. "See? I'm a man of my word. I never lie."
Cedric opened his eyes widely when he watched that the wound was healed in less than a second.
He then thought about sothing before asking Kai with a hopeful expression. "Can your healing ability really heal anything, as you said?"
"Of course! As long as I'm strong enough, I can heal anything as long as you're not dead yet!" Kai chuckled and waved his hand dismissively. "That's why, you don't worry about it because as long as you're not killed with one move, I can heal you instantly at that ti."
'Finally, the bait has been taken.' Kai thought to himself as he knew that Cedric had taken the bait judging by his expression that's full of expectation.
"Uhmmm, that's not it." Cedric pondered for a second before asking Kai again. "Can you do a favor?"
Kai raised an eyebrow and showed a 'confused' expression. "What is it? Do you have an internal injury or sothing?"
"It's not , it's my wife. She's infertile." Cedric shook his head with a bitter expression.
He then continued asking as he clenched his fist tightly. "Do you think you could heal my wife's infertility?"
"Oh? I believe I should be able to do that." Kai showed a 'surprised' expression and nodded calmly.
Cedric imdiately beca overjoyed and ca in front of Kai, begging him to help him. "Really? Can you help heal her after this?"
"I'll even give you my armor as paynt, regardless of the outco." Cedric suddenly continued as he was afraid that Kai would reject him.
"Alright, alright. I'll help you later when I have the ti and you don't need to pay with anything for it. It's not a big deal anyway." Kai chuckled and shook his head.
'Finally, I've found soone that could beco a backup plan in case sothing unexpected happens.' Kai sighed in relief, thinking that he had achieved one of his small goals.
The main reason why Kai went as far as wasting his ti doing all of this was because he wanted Cedric to take care of his family when he was not around.
Besides, Cedric was destined to beco an extrely strong and influential awakener, making him a worthwhile investnt while still weak.
Subsequently, Kai put his shirt back and looked at Cedric with a serious expression. "Are you ready?"
Cedric nodded and stretched his arms in response.
Kai then cracked his neck before imdiately charging forward, followed by Cedric right behind him.
Since they didn't hide their movents, the low-level goblins naturally noticed them and attacked them.
Honkk!
A loud blowing sound of horn could be heard as one of the low-level goblins sounded the alarm, alerting the others.
Kai and Cedric looked at each other and nodded their heads in unison before imdiately changing position where Cedric was taking the lead while Kai was following behind.
As they slaughtered their way towards the park, crowds of low-level goblins surged at them, with progressively stronger ones joining from behind.
When they arrived at the corner of the park, Cedric noticed the Goblin Commander and instantly showed a terrified expression.
"There's a 1st Echelon Goblin Commander here!" Cedric exclaid and ran right away as he shouted, "RUN!"
The Goblin Commander didn't chase them as it only took a glance and waved its hand dismissively, giving an order to three Goblin Captains to chase them instead.
When Kai sensed three Goblin Captains were chasing them behind, he looked at Cedric and showed a sinister smile. "Let's slow down a bit."
