Click.
Suddenly, the room echoed with a low, chanical click.
An old man seated near the far right corner discreetly pressed a hidden red button beneath the table.
BUZZZZ!
Instantly a deep hum rippled through the chamber and invisible energy surged around them as a translucent barrier shimred into existence for a brief second, then vanished from sight.
Igaris felt it imdiately.
His connection to the magical particles shattered like glass. It was as if the air itself had gone dead.
He clenched his fist and attempted to activate an magical ability.
But nothing happened.
Not even a flicker.
"Tch..." Igaris narrowed his eyes.
Seeing his frustration, a pleased chuckle followed.
"Don’t bother using your magic here, boy," the old man said, rising slowly from his chair. His voice held both pride and smugness. "This entire council chamber is sealed. No mana, no summoning, no mystical abilities will work here. We call it the Anti-Magic Domain."
He smiled, tapping his cane once against the floor. "After the Architect, it may be one of our greatest creations."
"LIES..." Evernight’s voice suddenly exploded like thunder.
She took a step forward, her eyes burning, her aura wild despite the suppression. Even without her magic, she radiated fury.
"You wretched, cowardly traitors!" she spat. "You expect to believe you engineered this? Never! This domain... its structure, its flow... it’s nearly identical to the Ancient ch Seal that is used to seal off the God Realm!"
The room froze at her words.
She pointed a trembling, accusing finger across the table.
"Which ans one of you ventured into that forbidden space. You must have tampered with it. Maybe even tried to harness it. And in your greed... you have weakened the Seal!"
"Wh-what?!"
"Is this true?"
Gasps rippled through the room.
"And that’s why the Angels sward in, isn’t it?" she growled. "It was never random. You brought this upon us. You! The so-called protectors of humanity!"
Her voice cracked like a whip.
"Or worse... could it be that one of you colluded with the those fake gods? With the impostors hiding in celestial thrones, pretending to be divine?"
The tension in the chamber reached a peak. So council mbers stared at each other nervously. Others turned pale.
And a few...
A few averted their eyes.
That was all Igaris needed to see.
He didn’t speak yet.
But his silence was a storm waiting to break.
"HUMMM!"
A sudden sound reverberated throughout the chamber like a war drum.
A towering S-Rank cha stationed in the corner of the room glowed faintly, then jolted awake. Its core pulsed with orange light. Steam hissed from its joints.
But it was not alone.
"Humm, humm, humm.."
One by one, more chanical giants stord into the chamber. The walls shook. From secret hatches and retractable ceiling panels, several chas burst into the round hall. Each was ard, activated, and ready for war.
Weapons charged. For the correct order please visit
Tactical visors glowed like predator eyes in the dark.
Panic rippled through the air.
Several Council mbers leapt to their feet.
"What is the aning of this, Councilor raville?" barked a stern man in silver robes. "Are you seriously thinking of executing the Architect’s heir inside this hall? The public will burn down the capital if they learn of this. You’ll doom us all!"
Another banged the table with his fist. "Call them off! We should be uniting to hunt the real traitor, not starting civil war!"
Councilor raville did not flinch.
Instead, he let out a low, dark chuckle. It dripped with poison.
"Heh... Since the truth is already out," he said, eyes glinting behind his polished spectacles, "we may as well wipe the board clean."
His fingers twitched slightly.
The chas took a step forward in perfect unison.
A few gasps escaped the council.
"Councilor raville..." one of the younger counciln whispered in disbelief. "You’re... you’re the traitor?"
Five n slowly rose from their seats, trembling as if the ground beneath them was crumbling.
raville turned his sly gaze toward them. "Not just , William. The others... have chosen the future as well."
He extended a hand toward the remaining council mbers.
Out of twenty, only five stood in opposition.
The rest said nothing.
They didn’t move.
They didn’t deny.
Their silence was more damning than any confession.
"...You traitors..." William hissed. "How could you? How could all of you turn your backs on humanity?"
His eyes were bloodshot with fury.
"Think of the people. The ordinary citizens. The children. Hundreds of millions! What happens when your so-called gods decide they are no longer useful?"
A bitter snort ca from the elderly woman who had mocked Igaris earlier. She stood, brushing dust from her aged gown.
"How long must we live under the shadow of those beings?" she spat. "For generations, we watched our ancestors wage a hopeless war. Mortals can never defeat gods. We’re just delaying the inevitable."
She glanced toward Igaris and Evernight with sharp contempt.
"So we chose the only logical path. We gave up."
The old woman lifted her chin, pride gleaming in her eyes.
"We made a deal with Sun God Helios. In return, he would bless our bloodlines. Our children and their children will inherit divine-compatible vessels. We will evolve into beings worthy of survival."
"No more war. No more fear. With surrender... cos peace."
Another man stepped forward. He had once been known as a strict lawmaker.
His voice ca out flat, like dust.
"We never told you five, because your outdated values would only slow us down. You would try to stop us before we were ready."
"You bastards!" William roared. "You’re feeding the world to monsters. You’re not peacekeepers. You’re enablers of tyranny!"
"Our ancestors would weep in their graves if they saw what you’ve beco. You sha the very legacy they fought for."
But raville only smiled.
A cruel, venomous smile.
"Maybe so," he whispered, "but the world is not made for the honest. It is carved by those willing to make impossible choices. And I choose survival... even if it cos wrapped in chains."
He lifted his hand.
The chas raised their arms in response.
The barrels of their cannons humd.
All aid at Igaris and Evernight.
