Naruto whistled, surprised, when the fight between Kin and Shikamaru ended in just a couple of minutes.
Kin, blinded by rage, jumped back, preparing to attack from a distance with senbon.
Shikamaru didn't even move an inch from his spot; he simply used his Secret Technique: Shadow Imitation to take control of her body.
In the end, Kin was knocked unconscious when Shikamaru forced her to slam her head against the wall.
The fight was identical to how Naruto rembered it, only this ti, Kin didn't even manage to injure Shikamaru once.
"Well, it was to be expected..." Naruto muttered to himself from the stands.
Shikamaru put his hands back in his pockets and left the combat arena, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Tch. It would've been easier to lose. That way I wouldn't have to keep participating..." he muttered to himself, feeling it was a bother to continue.

In the stands, Naruto was staring intently at Kiba, whom he was 99.99% sure he would face.
And, as expected...
Naruto Uzumaki vs. Kiba Inuzuka!
He would finally get to teach Kiba a lesson! He would show him that his only future option was his dog, Akamaru, and not his girlfriend, Hinata!
Co to think of it, Kiba had always been too close to his dog...
Just imagining it made Naruto's stomach churn.
[Madara Uchiha: Tch. Looks like the brat's fight is going to be boring. I was hoping he'd face the other brat from the Sand, the one without eyebrows.]
[Hashirama Senju: HAHAHAHA! Out of everything you could notice, Madara, you noticed his lack of eyebrows!]
[Madara Uchiha: And with you, I notice your lack of brain.]
[Hashirama Senju: …]
[Mito Uzumaki: I agree. You have no brain, husband.]
[Hashirama Senju: …]
[Tobirama Senju: Indeed, brother. You're an idiot.]

Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi watched Naruto as soon as his na appeared on the screen.
Kakashi approached him and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Don't be cruel to Kiba," he said, knowing full well that was exactly what Naruto was planning to do.
"At least I won't hurt him too much... I'll just teach him a lesson," Naruto replied, brushing Kakashi's hand off and walking toward the combat arena.
Sasuke stepped in his path, stopping him.
"Why are you so upset with that savage?" she asked, leaning against the wall with her arms crossed.
Clearly, Sasuke was referring to Kiba.
Naruto had no problem answering honestly.
"Kiba likes Hinata. That's why I'm going to beat him until he forgets."
Sasuke frowned at hearing that.
"Do you like that blind-eyed girl that much...?" she asked, looking away.
Naruto stayed silent and sighed.
"Why don't you answer?" Sasuke insisted.
"I don't have ti for this, Sasuke. It's my turn to fight," Naruto said, ignoring her as he continued walking.
Sasuke followed him a few steps, walking at his side, glancing at him out of the corner of her eye.
"Why don't you let that savage have her...? I could...!" Sasuke didn't finish the sentence, but Naruto understood perfectly what she ant.
"Forget it. Do whatever you want," Sasuke muttered, turning around to go back to Sakura and Kakashi.
As he walked toward the arena, Naruto let out a heavy sigh.
Every day that passed, Sasuke beca harder to understand.
...
"Finally, I get to face you, Naruto..." Kiba grinned, showing his canine teeth like a predator before its prey.
Akamaru, peeking out from his jacket, barked energetically, as if he also wanted to fight.
Naruto remained silent, staring at him, waiting for Hayate to give the signal to begin.
His silence only made Kiba angrier, to the point where he began growling at him.
"Whatever. Facing you is like a guaranteed victory. After all, you were the worst in the class, Naruto."
Kiba kept talking, but Naruto remained silent, as if he didn't even hear him.
In the stands, Hinata Hyūga watched the combat arena, her eyes fixed on Naruto. Seeing his unusually calm behavior, Hinata pressed her hands together and began praying to the Sage of Six Paths.
Kurenai Yūhi, sitting beside her, smiled at the sight and gently patted her head.
Hinata looked up, a little confused.
"What is it, Kurenai-sensei?"
"Nothing. I just thought it was sweet that you're praying for your teammate."
Hinata quickly shook her head, turning her gaze back to the fight.
"You're wrong, Kurenai-sensei... I'm only praying that Naruto doesn't kill Kiba."
Kurenai blinked in surprise and then rembered Kakashi's words, those that hadn't left her mind since the start of the exam.
"Naruto isn't like ?" Kakashi had replied calmly when Iruka told him Naruto wasn't like him. "At present, Naruto is almost as strong as I am."
Kurenai's expression hardened slightly as she looked at Kiba, who appeared confident, completely unaware of the real danger he was facing.
"Yeah..." Kurenai murmured, closing her eyes. "I think I'll start praying for Kiba with you, if you don't mind."
Determined, she joined her hands with Hinata's, and both prayed silently.
Back in the arena, Naruto was barely paying attention to Kiba's insults. His focus was on the group chat, entertained by the ongoing discussion there.
[Mito Uzumaki: Mphm. An Inuzuka looking down on an Uzumaki? The world has clearly gone insane.]
[Tobirama Senju: I agree. A mber of the Inuzuka Clan daring to look down on an Uzumaki is like saying the Uchiha are superior to the Senju. Complete madness. Only soone out of their mind would say sothing like that.]
[Madara Uchiha: What did you say, you Senju trash?! The Uchiha are clearly superior! You're the one who's crazy!]
[Tobirama Senju: As I said, only soone out of their mind would spout such nonsense. Madara is the perfect example.]
[Madara Uchiha: You...!]
[Fugaku Uchiha: As I recall, Second Hokage, the Senju Clan disappeared before the Uchiha Clan! That proves we're superior!]
[Madara Uchiha: Well said, Fugaku! The Uchiha Clan lasted longer than the Senju!]
