Chapter 2609: Strategic moves

“Honor is such a plex thing…” Shimmy muttered out loud as he looked at the map in front of him.

The attack on the spirits is going on, the bone snakes are pletely stretched thin and the consummate stage cultivators are attacking them fiercely.

Sam after a long time is doing countermoves instead of being on pure offensive.

Shimmy’s assistant looked at his master in pure confusion. He didn’t understand Shimmy’s reaction for Sam’s moves. Just like Parna had been thinking, even he was thinking why Shimmy didn’t employ this move since the start.

He even asked that question a few times, but Shimmy didn’t respond with a direct answer and instead responded with this crap about Honor.

“Sir…”

“Alright, alright… I guess all these assholes are worried about my next step. Actually, the reason for not taking this step is not that plicated. It is very simple in fact.

You can fight Hastin village head on, you can admit your cowardice and outnumbers them, they will still agree and some of those crazy bastards woudl even scream in excitement.

But there is one thing you shouldn’t try to play around with…

My grandfather taught me that before he passed away.”

The assistant looked at him, pletely puzzled. Shimmy sighed. He acted like he is drowned in guilt, as if he was carrying the burden of the world on his shoulders.

“Any descendant of Hastin, values their word more than their lives. Infinitely more than you can even imagine.

Half of the wars in Darkhan history… ended the way they did because of Hastin people’s words.

Just like his ancestors, Parth would have put his life on the line to defend these spirits…he might not even fight so hard for his own kids.

That’s why I had the mind to not involve them in the war. But right now, there is no other way… And while these particular spirits are isolated from the rest of the spirit races… they are all spirits in the end.

Now, everyone involved in the slaughter of these innocent spirits, including me are going gain some hostility from the other spirits as well.

So, for everyone’s sake, pray that we are going to win the war. Because, if we lose, there is no going back.

No amount of begging or repentance will placate Parth and his brothers, from knocking on everyone of our doors to avenge those spirits.”

The assistant was shocked.

He thought using these spirits was actually an advantage. He didn’t expect there was such a broader implication…

The warning went to all the allied forces and they understood, they stepped on the tiger’s neck now. They have to see this through.

Sam on the other hand let the bone snakes and the consummate warriors have at it. He didn’t intervene immediately.

Then he saw Shimmy’s next move.

More consummate initial stage cultivators arrived and their goal is totally different from the ones before.

Instead of directly attacking the spirits, they started abducting them. And fleeing away. They are moving away from Hastin village.

And before he knew, more than three dozen spirits were taken away all in different directions.

The old men in Hastin village are losing their shit.

“We should inform the elders of this situation. We cannot let them do this to the spirits. It is an insult to our ancestry.”

Sam looked at the old man and said.

“You might now know this, but… I am also known for my word, just like you Hastin lineage.

And I gave my word that I will take care of this village and those spirits fall under that category too.

And unlike Hastin village people, I don’t hold back on playing dirty when the opponents start it and I have no qualms on my ruthlessness.

So, don’t worry about it.”

Meanwhile on the other side of this strategy game, Shimmy gave the instructions.

“Tell them to not kill the abducted spirits. Keep them alive. Send message to Sam, reveal the locations of the spirits, the general direction would do.

Tell them, that he could e and save them if he could.

But make sure that the other forest spirits around Hastin village listen to that message. And spread the message to rest of the spirits too.

Keep an eye on Sam’s next moves.”

At the same time, Sam got into work.

“Boys. You are up next.

We are going with the same strategy.”

His friends got ready.

Then he sent out the bone snakes. They went out searching for the spirits. But they are limited in number, so Shimmy wondered how Sam is going to make up for it.

He tried to get the info, but he couldn’t find anything. All they found out was that there were repeated massive spatial fluctuations which were mon in the process of transference.

“What is your game, Sam?” Shimmy wondered out loud. He waited for Sam to make the next move, like a chess player.

But no matter how much he waited, Sam didn’t make a move. At least that is what it felt like.

“Alright, I can’t waste so much time on this. Send in the next wave. Destroy that bone dome.”

And just like that, the second wave led by Consummate stage cultivators attacked the done. All of them at initial stage.

It is already pushing it, he can cover this up as well within rules. But he pushes it further, Parth might just e out of his fight and kill everyone.

He still believes that Parth can do it.

But he was surprised, when none of that happened. There was no other defensive reaction. Because Sam is focused on something else.

His friends.

Philip is currently flying on his hoverboard, far away from Hastin village. He is closer to one of the villages under a different faction.

“Sam, I checked, there are only pretranscendent realm cultivator guards left here. Five of them.”

Sam got the message through the puppet munication network. He smiled and replied.

“Good, go ahead and proceed as planned.”
