221. Beggar Siblings - The Princess
The icosahedron. The sacred polyhedron of the main deity floated in the air, encircling Lean. The cheers from the Lutetia Square below subsided, and a dark shadow enveloped him.
Texts floated indifferently in the darkness. As Lean stared blankly at them, he trembled with a sense of desolation.
[ Lena's final occupation has been determined. ]
[ Thank you for playing "Raising Lena". ]
[ Lerialia de Isadora ]
[ Final Occupation: Princess ]
[ Marriage Partner: Vivian de Isadora ]
[ Lean de Yeriel ]
[ Final Occupation: King ]
[ Marriage Partner: Jenia Yeriel ]
[ Beggar Siblings Ending: The Princess ]
[ Clear ]
- Lerialia, born in the Royal Palace of Lutetia, had an unfortunate childhood. She was taken by people and hidden in a vast field with Lean, where she woke up to find the field filled with corpses. After that, she followed Lean... (omitted)... and returned to beco a princess. As the official heir of the Yeriel royal family, she entered the Royal Palace of Lutetia but did not stay long. The following year, the Kingdom of Orun invaded. To help her kingdom and brother in distress, Lerialia de Yeriel married Prince Vivian de Isadora of the Aisel Kingdom. The army dispatched by the Aisel Kingdom played a decisive role in the ceasefire agreent between the Conrad Kingdom and the Orun Kingdom. Lerialia de Isadora gave birth to six children and was buried in the Isadora royal family's cetery. -
- Lean, born in the Royal Palace of Lutetia... (omitted)... was recognized as an heir. He then inherited the throne early, but the glory did not last long. The second prince of the Orun Kingdom, Elzeor de Lognum, crossed the border. The army of Marquis Guidan, who joined him, quickly defeated the new Western Border Count, the Count of Lopero, putting the Conrad Kingdom in crisis. Lean personally led the army to the battlefield, but the army, losing many knights to Oriax, could not maintain the front line against Duke Elzeor's brilliant 'Knight Maneuver Strategy'. With the help of the Iber Mage Tower, they barely slowed the advance, and the fall of the Conrad Kingdom seed imminent. However, the retired Knight Bart found Lady Guidan in Harie and sacrificed his life, causing the Marquis Guidan to withdraw from the front line after achieving his goal. With reinforcents from the Aisel Kingdom arriving, the front line stabilized, and the two kingdoms signed a ceasefire agreent. But it was only temporary peace. King Lean de Yeriel fought endless wars against Duke Elzeor de Lognum and closed his eyes on the battlefield in his 37th year of reign. Queen Jenia Yeriel could not conceive, so he had no children. -
[ The Childhood Friend scenario ending has been altered. ]
Lena, born in the village of Demos, ... (omitted)... beca a priest at a young age. Refusing Veronian's request and traveling as a missionary across the continent, she eventually settled in the Lutetia Church, dedicating her life there. After her death, Lena was canonized as the eighth saint.
Rev, born in the village of Demos, had a happy childhood... (omitted)... he helped Lean confront Oriax and was covered in blood, lting away.
Lean couldn’t bring himself to look at the photo of his sister. Apart from making her a princess, he had accomplished nothing.
Is this really a clear ending... my last mont?
The kingdom was in shambles.
He didn’t need to see it to imagine. The school promised to Cardinal Verke must never have been built, and they barely survived by relying on foreign aid. No, even that was a result of sending his sister off in marriage.
Where did it all go wrong? Silently, Lean eventually pinpointed the culprit.
- “I will not marry anyone. And I will never forgive the knight who killed you. I will avenge you and retrieve the necklace he took. So rest in peace, my love.”
Harie Guidan.
That woman ruined everything. Without her, Marquis Guidan wouldn’t have allied with the Orun Kingdom’s twin princes.
The price for showing cheap sympathy. I was struggling myself, but trying to help Harie keep her sanity using that goodwill achievent cost dearly.
But there’s sothing strange, too.
No matter how much Harie wanted revenge, she couldn’t decide sothing as major as a war. There must have been so alignnt of interests...
‘Did Prince Elzeor de Lognum want to start a war?’
Harie couldn’t have married him, so if that despicable son wanted to conquer the Conrad Kingdom, it made sense.
The princes who should have been rivals for the throne flaunted their friendship by sharing sex slaves. Elzeor de Lognum, who survived by hiding in a breeding cage to avoid Rev, who had beco a follower of Barbatos.
They pressured the Eastern Border Count, Marquis Guidan, to marry Harie. Lean gritted his teeth, realizing their motives.
Though he couldn’t do anything as a round orb, he felt intense anger.
Those who are fundantally incompatible with us, thought Lean as he looked up. Despite everything... he wanted to see his sister.
She’s so beautiful.
My beautiful sister.
The photo that appeared showed Lerialia as a queen.
Wearing a tiara, seated at a desk in her bedroom, writing a letter. The photo captured her from an angle above and to the side, with the letter starting with ‘To my beloved brother’. Lean, trying to catch even a glimpse of the long letter, shed tears.
‘Minseo. Just once, just give one more chance... if I could have just one more...’
Lean faded away. Minseo, shaking off Lean’s remnants like shedding skin, sighed. Though if he were not an orb, it would have been a relieved, faint smile.
Making Lena a princess was indeed the right answer. Despite being stubborn, he had worried if he was making a mistake. If it wasn’t the correct answer, he wouldn’t have faced Leo.
Feeling relieved, Minseo looked up at the photo. His sister, now a noble princess, married a prince and beca a queen. There was nothing lacking.
This could be called a happy ending.
It feels like the first ti since my initial childhood friend scenario with Lena. Problems arose due to Harie Guidan’s interference, but that can be fixed soon.
Just leave Harie alone. And in the next childhood friend scenario, I planned to start a rebellion anyway.
Then the invasion by the Orun Kingdom would be averted. As Lean wished, the Conrad Kingdom and his sister’s life would be peaceful.
And judging by the connection between the red jewel and Oriax, it’s likely sothing crucial for capturing Oriax.
It’s regrettable I didn’t notice sooner. But after 18 rounds, the hard work paid off. I managed to capture Oriax by myself, the final hurdle of the Beggar Siblings scenario.
So, Lean, don’t worry.
I will never abandon you to tragedy.
After ensuring the happiness of Lena and you, I will return to Chaeha.
In the next two rounds, all scenarios will be cleared, and if still unsatisfied, I will use the remaining 3 out of 20/23 rounds to revisit eaChapter Lena is like a friend, lover, and sister to .
While Minseo solidified his resolve, the ending texts and photos disappeared. In the calm darkness, Minseo waited for the reward he needed.
[ You have cleared "Raising Lena". You may select the scenario you wish to play. ]
[ Leo, as the King of the Conrad Kingdom and a great general, protected your country throughout your life. For that achievent, you receive the {Tactics} ability. ]
[ Childhood Friend ]
[ Betrothal ]
[ Beggar Siblings – Clear ]
When Minseo thought of ‘Childhood Friend’, the shading of the option turned white. The text, glowing in the darkness, turned black.
It flickered montarily, confirming the selection, then disappeared, replaced by an image falling from the sky. Minseo could finally enjoy the thrill of the fresh sumr breeze and the sensation of falling from the sky.
And He Soon Beca Rev...
“Rev! Are you listening to ?”
[ Achievent: ‘19th Leo – The player’s synchronization with Leo slightly increases. ]
[ 19/23 ]
Rev suddenly burst into tears in front of the girl who had turned back to look at him while picking wild berries. There was no need for synchronization; he was not Minseo.
mories returned. mories of wandering the mountains and fields with Lena, gathering food, and the urgency of jumping into the stream to save her when she fell in.
The innocent mistake of feeding water to a captured kokoren, causing it to swell up like a balloon, and the young girl crying out in shock, and my foolishness that caused the accident.
The mory of resenting her while studying beside her in church, worried about what I would do if she truly beca a priest, and subtly disrupting her studies. I rember ringing the church bell as if there was a fire.
“What? Why are you suddenly crying?”
Lena was flustered in front of the tearful Rev, unable to understand the complex emotions in his eyes.
“Lena, the truth is...”
Rev told her everything.
At the foothills.
They ate the wild berries they had picked until then, and Rev’s story continued until the sun set.
From the first round, when I married you, to the second round, where I beca soone else in the northern Ashin Kingdom and t a woman nad Lena Ainar, and was engaged to her. I also ntioned having an adorable little sister who died of an illness.
From the fourth round onwards, I was more cautious with my words.
I couldn’t bring myself to say that you were captured by the princes of the Orun Kingdom and beca a concubine, so I only ntioned that things went wrong in Nevis.
Removing the tragedies, I talked about being injured and returning to the engagent scenario and joining Orville's gang... I confessed about dying in the Beggar Siblings scenario. Here, I had to lie.
Returning to our scenario, Leo predicted that a priest would visit the village around autumn. I told her that you followed the priest to the capital church but were expelled when things went wrong. I revealed that we had gotten married there.
“Rev, are you sure you’re in your right mind?”
“I’m sorry, but I know about the mark you have here.”
Lena blushed like a red carrot.
Rev then spoke about eting a sword master in the next engagent scenario. Feeling that Lena's sharp eyes seed to be scrutinizing him, he stood up and drew his sword to show her the aura blade. Lena was stunned, her eyes wide in surprise.
“And I beca Lean de Yeriel again. I tried to gather information by joining the Rauno family, with so swordsmanship skills…”
I t Marquis Benar Tatian, who tried to kill his son.
Rev hinted that the outco was not good. He only ntioned that he never found his lost sister.
“That ti, I wandered around the kingdom and even ca to Demos village. Our father had gone sowhere and wasn’t there... Our mother had passed away by then. I’ll continue this later.”
In the next round, Lena caused trouble. She was very perceptive and suspected the changes in , and Minseo did not want to reveal everything.
Because at that ti, I was not myself. I was both Minseo and Rev. I had no mories of the past.
“When I’m flustered, my ears twitch, right? I didn’t know that, but you told . By the Irotashi River.”
That was the round where I was killed by Sir Bart. Rev briefly described it and moved on. To recount everything would take more than a year.
Next was the broken engagent.
A round that made feel sick.
Rev apologized to Lena Ainar, only saying they fought and the relationship broke down. No need to detail our foolish behavior.
The story of Cassia, the prostitute, was completely omitted. In the next round, Lean de Yeriel encountered Oriax.
t him. Without further description, Rev returned to our story... Damn, it’s endless.
“That ti, our father believed in a god nad Barbatos. He has converted now, and Barbatos is gone. But then, I...”
Beca an apostle.
Went mad and killed.
There was no way to soften this other than skipping over the massacre in Nevis. In a deranged state, I sought you at the capital church... I confessed that Barbatos had transferred to you.
With an apology.
Lena listened as if hearing a legend from Brother Leslie. She occasionally said things like, “It must have been hard,” and “You went through a lot.”
And then there was the engagent scenario where Minseo lost his mind and ran away with Lena Ainar, leaving her behind.
The story of becoming a knight in the Bellita Kingdom, trying to approach Cardinal Verke through Count Gustav Peter, and the Beggar Siblings scenario in the Orun Kingdom where we started a rebellion and failed also concluded.
“You’ll be canonized as a saint if you graduate from the capital church.”
“Really? I’m amazing.”
By this point, Lena seed skeptical. She seed to have decided that Rev’s glowing sword was so kind of trick.
Still, Lena, who liked listening to stories, remained quietly attentive.
“It’s not a lie. It’s true. In the next engagent scenario, I... no, Leo Dexter, beca a sword master.”
“Who cares?”
“You don’t believe , do you? Look at this. This is the necklace I got in the last Beggar Siblings round, and this is the mirror my mother had. Until now, they had no function, but now...”
[ Achievent: Bound Items, 2/3 ]
[ Sword – Indestructible. ]
[ Mirror – Connectable. ]
[ Necklace – A pretty necklace. ]
Rev took out the mirror. Just as he was about to ‘connect’ it...
- Plop!
“Ah! You scared !”
A kokoren fell onto the mirror.
Lena clapped her hands, watching the kokoren roll its eyes adorably. Then she looked up.
“Oh no! Rev, the sun is setting! Let’s hurry down.”
Rev chuckled. Brightly smiling at Lena, he replied, “Yeah, let’s go down.”
Maybe I shouldn’t have said anything.
But having opened up, Rev felt relieved, thinking this as he descended the dusky mountain path. Parting ways with Lena,
“Mom! Dad!”
He entered the house, calling out, “Why are you so clingy today?” and hugged his tattoo-free father.
“Isn’t that the mirror you said you were going to give Lena?” his mother asked. Embarrassed, he said he hadn’t given it yet.
That night, as the cozy conversation continued in the hunter’s warm household, Lena, in the cramped next house, was suffering from a nightmare.
