"Heh, shouldn’t that be my question? You have just barged into my room." The man smirked and took a long puff of his cigarette.

Then he blew the smoke toward the frightened man’s face.

Anne walked inside, and the others followed. Soon, the man found himself facing seventeen powerhouses.

"Do you recognize him?" Red Moustache asked, not attacking immediately.

"Hmm, I don’t think I remember him." Anne spoke uncertainly. He seemed a little familiar to her, but also greatly different.

"A handsome guy like me only remains in the heart, not in the brain." The man spoke while touching his crown.

"T-This is it!!" The Level 3 demigods all pointed a finger at the crown.

They looked around and found no other glow, and they could even read its description.

"We will take that, don’t worry." Anne spoke.

Of course, she intended to take it for herself.

It was such a good item.

"Now, now, aren’t you getting ahead of yourself? You don’t think you can defeat me, do you?" the man spoke.

It was Psyche, who had changed his appearance, while Onest was hidden nearby as a backup.

Despite knowing he wouldn’t really die thanks to the flag, his heart was still beating like war drums.

"Ugh, this is why I hate weaklings. They just don’t know their place. Are you going to do it, or should I take care of him?" Red Moustache asked.

He was acting brave, but he was afraid of making another mistake and receiving an even heavier punishment.

The Level 4 demigods were the most frightened, hoping nothing would enter the building.

"P-Please hurry up, we have to hide quickly." One of them urged.

"Tch, stay quiet. I will deal with him right away." Anne replied in annoyance.

She didn’t think the monsters that were supposed to hunt Level 4 demigods could do anything to her.

She could easily defeat them too.

Still, Anne took a step forward as her hand mutated and grew longer, her fingers slashing toward Psyche’s neck.

The wraith moved back, barely saving its body.

"Whoa, I like wild ladies, but can we hold back on the foreplay for some time later? You see, I don’t like getting scratched by unvaccinated pets."

These words, of course, were given by Vritra.

He was also hidden in this very building along with his wives and Onest.

If things went south, he wouldn’t risk Onest’s life.

"You damned pest!" Anne hated it whenever someone called her that because of her skill.

Dozens of arms grew out of the ground and even from Psyche’s own body, attacking him from all directions.

Psyche did his best, putting up a fight, but his body was too weak and the opponent was far too strong.

In just a few moments, his body was chopped apart piece by piece, giving him a gruesome death.

CLANG

The crown fell to the ground as Anne cut his body into tiny pieces, scattering them all over the floor in utter rage.

Psyche safely returned to Vritra, having pleted its task.

The other wraiths remained hidden in the shadows, waiting for their master’s mand.

The crown glowed faintly.

It looked so enticing, yet none dared to even approach it.

Except Anne, who was currently the strongest person in the room.

’Tch, if I hadn’t killed that bastard, I could have gotten this crown. Once my strength returns, I will kill this pet bitch.’ Red Moustache thought.

The Level 3 demigods glanced at one another.

It was their game, and they needed the crown.

But they didn’t dare make a sound.

She could kill them easily, and even if it gave her a penalty, she could simply toss them out right now and be done with it.

Anne picked up the crown, but just as she was about to place it on her head, she frowned.

"Something is wrong..."

Her hands paused, the crown almost touching her head.

TIC TIC

There was a faint sound and then...

BOOOOM!!

A terrifying explosion shook the building.

Everyone was blasted backward.

It was a bomb they had found among Zihong’s treasures.

That was why it was so terrifying.

But surprisingly, the room itself wasn’t destroyed.

Even the glass remained intact.

The table and chair were pushed backward, but that was all.

Meanwhile, the players received the full brunt of the explosion.

The Level 3 and Level 4 demigods had it the worst, the former almost losing their lives.

Even the Level 5 demigods were injured, though the Level 6 demigods weren’t affected nearly as much.

"Damnit!! I knew this was a trap! Where the fuck are you hiding?!" Anne roared in rage.

Finally, she was able to see a golden glow.

So this was where the real crown was.

This person had truly planned things out well.

But too bad.

His strength was simply too low.

Anne rushed forward and struck a cupboard, her arm smashing through the door and hitting something hidden inside.

"Ughhh." Onest groaned from within before rushing out in a hurry.

They had hoped to use the explosion either to throw these people out of the building or to attract something dangerous.

But neither seemed to have happened.

One of the Level 4 demigods walked toward the window and glanced outside.

The fog was rushing into the building.

"You damned pet, do you think I would be scared of you?!" Onest roared.

He was wearing the crown, which was, of course, a fake.

"R-Run!! We have to run!!" The Level 4 demigod was terrified.

That thing was ing.

It had been attracted by the explosion!!

"..." Onest gritted his teeth and rushed toward the window.

The front of the building was made entirely of glass.

So he could jump out from almost anywhere.

That was exactly the plan.

To bring these overconfident jerks outside.

But just as Onest got close to the window, he felt something move inside his chest.

COUGH COUGH

His eyes turned red as he coughed up blood.

His body possessed Auto Dodge, but he couldn’t dodge an attack like that.

His heart was gripped by a grotesque arm that had appeared inside his chest out of nowhere and crushed it.

Then more arms began growing throughout his body, destroying him from the inside.

It was so damn painful.

He could almost see death itself.

But Onest forced a smile as he gathered every bit of energy he had left and muttered:

"Die, you pet..."

His body instantly burst into hundreds of clones, pletely filling the office.

There wasn’t even enough space left to move a finger.

The glass began to crack as all the players found themselves trapped.

"FUCK!"

Both Red Moustache and Anne shouted in rage while turning dozens of clones into minced meat.

Once again, the Level 3 demigods had it the roughest.

"Ughhhh... H-Help us, please..." They couldn’t free themselves and deeply regretted ing here with those two psychos and walking straight into such an obvious trap.

The original body of Onest continued struggling, trying to stay alive long enough to drag all these players into the fog with him.

He kept creating more and more clones as endless pain flooded his senses.

For the first time, he truly understood what Vritra had gone through several times before.
