Grrrrrrrrr

A loud whirring sound rang out as the doors to the elevator opened. This hall was even larger, covering a diameter of at least a couple of kilometres.

BOOM BOOM

GRRRRRRRR

Vritra didn’t pay attention to the creatures or the sound. He quickly scanned the area but couldn’t sense the flag.

"Yeah, it’s probably down below," Yasmine mentioned as well.

"Let’s go then, no need to pick a fight with these things. They are a challenge for Level 4 demigods, it won’t be easy," Fiona spoke.

She loved to fight, but not idiotic fights with no gains.

Without getting out, they pressed the button and the doors closed, then the elevator continued down.

"So, hubby, what exactly is your plan with this... death planning?" Yasmine asked as they all turned toward Vritra, especially Onest.

He had indeed been influenced by Vritra’s words, getting gaslighted into believing him.

"First of all, we need to remove the threats so we won’t be chased constantly by them, and we do that by feigning the death of the crown bearer. It will be a little tough, though," Vritra replied.

Before long, the elevator reached the lowest floor and the doors opened.

It was perfectly lit, well furnished, clean, and looked to be some sort of parking area.

But there wasn’t a single person in sight. The entire place was empty.

"It is here," Yasmine spoke. This place was equally as big as the last floor, with a lot of pillars marking the parking areas.

"Let’s hurry up, it is already afternoon here," Teresa said. She had calibrated the clock to the local time.

The group carefully started walking. They didn’t separate in this unknown place, staying on high alert.

"Is that it?" Onest pointed toward a barrel inside which a pole was visible.

A cloth was tied to the top of it. It was brown in colour and rather short pared to the entire pole.

Yasmine took the lead and held it, her eyes lighting up.

"Indeed, this is the flag."

After making sure, she picked it up and extended it toward Onest.

But just then...

GRRRRRRR

The same whirring sound began to ring out again, acpanied by loud vibrations from some machines and deep growls.

"They came down?" The ceiling broke with a loud boom and suddenly dozens of large objects fell down, creating deafening noises.

Dust flew in all directions, and strange gurgling noises made everyone’s ears ache.

"Ughh, what the hell is this now?" Clutching their heads, the group of eleven remained inside the elevator.

SWISH

Hellmancer and Dark Knight appeared before them, along with Chimera, Bob, and Bobby.

"Go check it out," Vritra manded. Psyche was in a human body and it would be a waste to let it die just yet.

The two spheres rolled forward, then the remaining three wraiths also flew out, disappearing into the shadows.

A strange and sinister laughing sound rang out as the rumbling grew louder. Within moments, Bob and Bobby died.

Then it was Chimera’s turn. They died so quickly despite supposedly being Level 3 demigods.

As the dust settled and things became clear, Vritra was surprised by the sight.

There were over fifty large vehicles. They looked like tractors of some sort with dangerous rotating blade mechanisms at the front.

The blades spun menacingly, looking as if they could tear apart the world itself.

On top of each vehicle of destruction, or rather each dozer, one or two creatures sat.

They looked like the goblins Vritra had faced before in a labyrinth, but with body structures similar to humans.

Tall and burly bodies.

’...I had this doubt before, but the players are all Level 3 to 6 demigods, so if even the weakest fight seriously, the whole country will be doomed. How is the game going to continue like this?’ Vritra questioned, not making any moves yet.

From the speed at which his three wraiths had been killed, it was obvious these were no weak dozers.

It was supposed to be a trap for Level 4 demigods after all.

"That is true, which is why the level of destruction will automatically be reduced. Even Level 6 demigods won’t be able to destroy a building pletely in a short time," Divine said, but quickly added, "That doesn’t mean you all have been weakened, so you still have to be careful."

Nodding, Vritra turned to watch how long Dark Knight and Hellmancer would last against those things.

pared to their sizes, those dozers were moving rather fast and none of them collided with one another.

Hellmancer cast several spells, but none could stop those machines or even affect the creatures sitting on them.

WHIRRRRRRR

Before Hellmancer could react, a dozer struck him from the side, smashing him against the rotating blades.

He exploded into a mass of smoke immediately.

On the other hand, Dark Knight held his sword and stood before an approaching dozer.

BANG

The rotating blades struck him, pushing Dark Knight back as sparks flew in all directions from his blade.

CRACK

After a few moments, his heavy sword began to crack under the force of the fast-moving dozer.

Dark Knight rotated in the air, turned into dark smoke, and flew directly toward the driver of the dozer.

’Oh, impressive.’

Among all his wraiths, Dark Knight was definitely the strongest, though Hellmancer might pete for that spot.

CLANG

Unfortunately, the blades struck the metallic structure at the side first, unable to cut through.

’What are these things made of?’ Vritra was surprised but had no intention of fighting just yet.

Those dozers would be upon them quickly, and even the elevator wouldn’t be safe since their escape route was the first thing those monsters had cut off.

"They are intelligent creatures," Yennefer spoke, wondering which of her elements would work best against them.

She was just thinking when suddenly her body began to turn into magma. Her hands melted first.

"What?"

Vritra, who had been watching the battle with full focus, was startled once again.

In this game, he was on edge at all times. They were facing people far stronger than them.

So only by using their brains could they stay ahead.

"Forbid!"

[Forbidden Activated]

Vritra immediately froze Yennefer, allowing her to quickly regain control of her body and revert.

"Yenni, I think it would be best if you stay back with wifey," Vritra said. Those creatures’ main target was Yasmine.

So at least they had one advantage. While the creatures attacked the crown bearer, they could attack back.

"Hmm." Yennefer nodded. Her physique was malfunctioning, so it might backfire.

But it still didn’t feel good to be excluded from such an important battle.

"Focus, we all have our roles here." Yasmine’s stern voice brought her back to her senses and the empress nodded.

BOOM

Vritra was just waiting to see how they would deal with Dark Knight if he managed to avoid those rotating blades.

But instead of attacking him directly, they used something to blast him back, and then another dozer turned Dark Knight into minced meat.

Finally, it was their turn.

Vritra took the lead and ordered, "Onest, take the flag and just run. Do your best not to get caught."

"Okay!"

Onest took the flag from Yasmine and now the target had changed. He started running at full speed.

Taking a deep breath, Yennefer took out the Time Staff, having decided to assist them from the back.

Teresa also pulled out several treasures while Diana drew the blue knife.

That knife could inflict injuries without even making contact. Wasn’t that perfect for this situation?

Maeve also had a good treasure, that Needle of Darkness. It too could kill from a distance.

Vritra slowed his pace as the two women launched attacks at the same time.

The blue knife glowed brightly, then Diana swung it, a flash of light streaking through the air.

The goblin-like creature couldn’t dodge it and its head was severed, but shockingly, before the head could even fall off, countless worms wriggled inside its neck and head, pulling everything back together.

In a moment, it was back to normal.

Then the dark needle blasted another goblin’s head to pieces, yet in the next moment, more worms wriggled out from its neck and a new head grew back.

"What the fuck is that regeneration ability?!" Onest felt goosebumps rise all over his body. Was he supposed to run from these monsters?

Thankfully, he didn’t have to hold the flag at all times, as it transformed into a tattoo.

GRRRRRR

A dozer came so fast that Onest almost got cut into tiny pieces, but his auto-dodge skill saved his life at the last moment.

He quickly created thousands of clones to hide himself.

’Tch, that is useless. I have to find another way to kill these things.’

Vritra’s body flashed as he disappeared.

In the next moment, he appeared before a dozer.

It was time to put his physique to the test.

Even Dark Knight’s sword couldn’t last.

CLANG

The sharp rotating blades struck Vritra’s hand, trying to rip it to shreds, but they were unable to do so immediately.

’Not bad.’

Vritra’s feet skidded across the floor, but he slowed the dozer down greatly.

GRAAAA

The large goblin let out a shocked sound as the speed of the dozer decreased.

How could such a puny creature stop this vehicle?

Vritra could sense other dozers ing to attack him. He waited and soon felt the blades cutting into his skin.

’I wonder how Forbidden will work here.’

Vritra thought for a moment, but since there were so many dozers, setting a broader rule would be better.

"Forbid: Nothing can rotate!"

WHIRRR-

Suddenly, they all came to a halt.

Not even the tyres could rotate.

But before they could rejoice, all the dozers suddenly underwent a transformation.
