The cable car shuddered violently before coming to an abrupt stop, leaving its passengers in startled silence. An urgent alarm blared through the confined space, its shrill tone echoing against the tal walls.

The three people inside the car, however, remained calm until they heard a loud sound from the outside.

"Damn it!" Vasquez exclaid, his voice thick with frustration as he watched helplessly as the two cable cars tumbled from their cables, disappearing into the lush pine trees below. His hand instinctively reached for the holster at his waist, fingers brushing against the cool tal of his gun. But just as he was about to draw it, a suffocating darkness enveloped the car, swallowing the brightness of the day.

If one from the ground would look up, he would see a chaotic dance unfolding in the sky as flocks of birds and sleek drones converged around the cable car, their shadows cascading over the gleaming glass. The relentless flutter of wings filled the air as they swooped and soared, pecking at the surface of the glass with tenacious beaks, creating a cacophony that drowned out the soothing sounds of nature.

"Strange! The birds seed to have no intention of harming us. They wanted to capture the princess alive." Leon voiced his observation loud. "I’ll open the cable car in three. Be ready." He said in a calm voice.

"One..."

"Two.."

"Three..."

The floor of the car suddenly gave way beneath them, plumting the three into the open sky. As if coordinated, a glimring thread of white shot from the right wrists of each person simultaneously. With remarkable precision, these strands anchored themselves to the tal frawork of the cable car’s floor, creating a seemingly fragile yet resilient lifeline that suspended them between the clouds and the ground below.

The birds, caught off guard for an instant, swiftly swooped down, their wings cutting through the air as they pursued the humans below.

A sudden barrage of gunfire erupted, echoing through the air, and the seven big birds fell from the sky like heavy stones. As they plumted, the smaller birds surrounding them beca utterly disoriented, creating a chaotic flurry of feathers as they darted in every direction.

"Vasquez and I are equipped with parachutes," Leon stated, his voice steady despite the adrenaline coursing through him. "I’ll take you with , Princess."

He glanced down, noticing the vast expanse of ground still so distance below them, a patchwork of greens and browns against the bright blue sky. With a swift motion, he began rummaging through the black backpack slung over his shoulder, his hands searching for the parachute’s straps, determined and focused.

Princess Amaya nodded. Leon gently encircled her slender waist with his arms, pulling her closely. As he counted, his voice steady, "One... two... three..." the thin, shimring rope began to retract. It twisted and coiled around the watch, morphing into a gleaming silver watch guard that sparkled in the light.

Princess Amaya felt weightless as their freefall started. She could feel the rush of wind roaring in her ears, her stomach lurching as gravity took hold. For a few heart-pounding monts, she rembered the first ti she jumped headfirst from the highest point in Miraga to the churning waves of the sea.

With a firm tug at his backpack, Leon deployed a small parachute. A white canopy burst open above, yanking the two upwards with a jolt as it caught the air. Their descent slowed until Princess Amaya felt the ground on her feet, and the canopy enveloped her and Leon, who now hugged her firmly.

Princess Amaya, who had her back resting on Leon’s chest, felt his heart hamring. She could feel his warm breath on his neck.

"Aya, I missed you so much." Leon’s voice was hoarse.

For a mont, they seed transported into a hidden place where only the two of them existed.

Thud!

Sothing crushed beside them with a loud thud.

"Ouch! Damn it! That was a rough landing!" Vasquez cursed under his breath.

The bubble that enveloped Leon and Princess Amaya burst. The Princess lifted the corner of the canopy and went out from it. Leon followed suit.

A short while later, a group of guards who had been sent ahead to scout the surrounding area to ensure safety, approached them with urgent news. They reported that the guards who had plumted alongside the cable cars had sustained injuries, but fortunately, none of them were serious. The airbags, designed to deploy on impact, had activated just in ti as the cars slamd onto the ground, providing a cushioning barrier that mitigated the worst of the fall’s effects.

Princess Amaya sighed in relief.

"How about the bird drones?" She asked.

"Six of them detonated themselves, Princess. Luckily, there remains one that has survived intact. Perhaps the chip malfunctioned, preventing it from initiating the self-destruction protocol."

The group returned to Maharlika Palace by chopper. Princess Amaya did not waste any ti and sent the surviving drone to the laboratory in the basent, where Ren happily ’operated’ on the bird.

While Ren was busy dismantling the drone, Leon settled into a chair at the corner. The flickering light of his laptop illuminated his determined expression. His fingers danced across the keyboard with a fervor that matched the storm brewing in his mind. As he reflected on the journey back to the palace, the weight of his thoughts pressed heavily on his shoulders. He had reached a pivotal conclusion: he needed to take a daring step to safeguard the Princess. With resolve fueling his actions, he set out to dismantle the Dark Phoenix organization once and for all, aiming to strike a decisive blow that would end their threat in a single, sweeping motion.

...

At midnight, hurried footsteps entered the secret door of a posh villa in the southern capital of Uropa. A man in black hood kneeled before a man in a wheelchair with a grave expression.

"Supre Leader, we have to hurry. I will take you out to escape. The car is already prepared at the secret tunnel and the submarine is also waiting."

"Useless!" A coffee mug was thrown. The kneeling man shifted his head slightly to the right, and the mug hit the wall behind him and scattered into thousands of pieces. He could not afford to be injured as it would lessen his ability to protect the supre leader.

"Apologies, Supre Leader! We lost control of all our defense systems. The Alliance, as I speak, now has surrounded the villa. We have to leave before it is too late!"
